Hiei's Harem - Pt. 10 - Initiating

Wow. Here we are at the next sequel in my story. Have I lost anybody? (Looks around at the handful of reviewers for dramatic effect). Well, I think there will be a little more action in this sequel. Obviously more babies on the way. And our beloved (?) Koorime continues to get caught up in a destiny he never planned, nor knew ever existed. I'm sure many of you are aware by now that this is a multi-volume(!) monster of a fic that has taken on a life of its own. So if you're just popping in on this story and haven't read any of the others.. You got a (bleep) lot of catching up to do. LOL. As always, please don't take all those warnings that clutter up the summary lightly. This is a serious saga that will contain a lot of mature content.

Scene 1 ---------------- Two Months Later


* The small, dark male is resting in a gently swinging vine hammock. His warded arm is hanging down over the edge slightly brushing the ground beneath, the other is slung over his eyes to shield them from the mid-day sun. But he is completely aware of the tiny presence crawling stealthily toward him. The tiny girl, who is his mirror image in nearly every way, is closing in. She then poises and is just about ready to pounce when she is suddenly thwarted. The little spitfire snarls and struggles until she realizes who has snatched her up. Sarista shakes her head as she glares down at her adopted daughter.


Sarista- Can't you see that your Alpha is resting, River?


* Hiei sighs and moves his arm from covering his eyes to reach for the little girl.


Hiei- Calm down, 'Ris.. I knew what my little shadow was up to.. Come to me, brat.


* The Alpha Female puts River down on the hammock. She quickly snuggles into Hiei's embrace. He watches Sarista start to move away rubbing her lower back. Through their bond he can feel his mate's discomfort and weariness. Knowing that she's quite a few days overdue has been bothering him. Sarista has to stop and lean against the cave face to catch her breath. Hiei cradles his small daughter in one arm as he sits up to look around the clearing.


Hiei- Troyo, go help your mother into the cave.


* The heavily-pregnant male looks toward him from the table where he's chopping a couple oranges into quarters.


Troiyoku- The last time I tried to touch her..

Hiei- Don't argue with me!


* Troiyoku stands and starts to approach Sarista. Hiei stands when she looks at her son, starting to growl.


Hiei- Let him help you into your alcove, 'Ris.. Where is that Fox?

Celestia- She went to her garden a few minutes ago.


* When Sarista allows Troi to start helping her into the cave they only make it a couple feet before a stabbing pain shoots through her. It causes her to yelp and double over against her son.


Troiyoku- Mother?


* Trinka hurries over not long after Hiei blinks to Sarista's side.


Hiei- Go to Aunt Cellie, River. Daddy has to help momma 'Rista.


* River goes easily into Celestia's arms, sensing the strange atmosphere that suddenly falls around the pack.


(#) Trinka- I'll see to Mother until Aunt Lily returns.


* Hiei nods, more confident now in his muted mate's improving skills.


Sarista- I.. I think.. it's time.


* She moans again just as they get her into her alcove inside the cave. Hiei hears Lily in his mind as he helps Sarista lay down.


(#) Lily- I'm coming with some herbs that will help her.

(#) Trinka- Hurry, Aunt Lily.. Her water's broke.


* Hiei glances toward Trinka who is placing a thin, fur blanket over Sarista's lower half. It's Troiyoku's wide-eyed look of shock that really gets his attention, though.


Hiei- Troyo.. Troi..!


* Hiei growls when he gets no response from the stricken Fire hybrid. The Koorime blinks over to grab Troiyoku's vest, yanking him down to look at him and break his stupor.


Hiei- Out.. Summon Minoro to be on guard.


* Troi nods quickly and leaves as quickly as he can move. Lily passes him as she enters and hurries over.


Lily- I sensed that her time would be soon.. That's why I went to gather these herbs I've been working on.


* Hiei nods and watches the black Kitsune hurry into the alcove. Sarista looks up at Lily heaving when she's offered a long bluish green, tube-like leaf.


Lily- Start chewing on it. By the time you ingest the whole leaf you won't feel as much pain.

Sarista- I.. deserve to feel.. every minute of this.. agony.. for failing you..

Lily- My time is past, Mistress.. My losses were not your fault.


* Hiei fights his every instinct that urges him to leave and moves back into the alcove. He kneels beside Sarista and ignores her growl that turns into a groan of pain.


Hiei- Now isn't the time to dwell on that.. Chew the d--- leaf, ya stubborn woman.


* Hiei meets Lily's eyes briefly as he takes the tubed leaf from her. When Lily is sure that Sarista is nibbling on it she moves back to help Trinka. Since word has spread, it isn't long until the other females begin to hurry into the cave to help. Sarista growls loudly again.


Sarista- I don't want all of you in here!

Hiei- Chew, 'Rista.. They're here to help you.


* Sarista glares up at Hiei. Just as she opens her mouth to wail on him again another contraction surges through her. Hiei feels the heat radiating from her intensify. He swallows, hoping that her Fire heritage will help her to manage it.


Sarista- Ahhh! S---!! - Get out of.. here..!


* Hiei shoves the leaf back into her heaving mouth.


Hiei- Get over it. I'm not leaving you.


* She gives no further protests and continues chewing quickly at the onset of another contraction.
