Summary: After Yusuke Urameshi breaks a magic mirror his luck turns incredibly bad. His girlfriend, Kayko breaks up with him, Kuwabara moves away to America, Hiei is put in jail after being falsely charged with a heist and to top it all off Koenma has assigned him a new partner, an eight hundred year old wolf demon. To make matters worse he finds he needs to play tour guide for transfer student Shuichi Minamino and there’s a deadly demon on the loose by the name of Kurama.

“Lord Koenma, Phelan is here,” the chubby face nodded as he heard the voice in his ear.

“Send him in,” Koenma told Botan as the doors spread open and Botan was admitted along with the tall demon, his reddish brown hair pulled back and his ears perked up, the long tail waving behind him.

“Antar, how have your missions been,” Koenma asked, using his old friend’s first name.

The ears twitched slightly as Antar’s fangs showed with a grin. “Dull, certainly I thought you’d find something of a challenge for me.”

“I may have something.” Koenma said as he leaned over the desk, towards Antar. “Do you remember Yoko Kurama?”

The smile lit up on Antar’s lips as his golden eyes glimmered in excitement. “I’ve been chasing him for a good four hundred years, why wouldn’t I remember him?”

“Sources say he’s escaped to the living world due to an injury fifteen years ago. I want you to team up with the Spirit Detective on the case.”

Antar bowed his head as he aimed his eyes on Koenma. “As your enforcer Koenma I usually work alone.” Antar said as he focused on Koenma.

“Yes, I know but this is where I need you.”

“Very well, I shall assume a human form and depart in the morning,” and with a twitch of his tail Antar turned and left.

Yusuke threw the letter to the side. Now as one of the few spirit detectives he didn’t know what he was supposed to do. He stared down at the piece of paper tugging in the wind, loneliness taking over as he felt the absence of his right hand man.

“It works better if you read it,” a low voice caught Yusuke’s attention as he whipped around.

“Damn you three eyes. You know I hate it when you do that.”

“Koenma has a new assignment for us,” there was never a smile in those crimson eyes, Yusuke knew as he watched Hiei.

“Fine,” Yusuke brought a hand to his head

“It’s time to go.”
