Scene 7 -------- The West Wall Cave


* As soon as Hiei comes to a stop in front of it he becomes aware of three others approaching. He feels his subordinates’ aggression and realizes that they must not recognize his slightly altered energy.


Hiei- Oh d---..


* He spins to face them as they all burst out of the treeline. When they see Hiei they all skid to a stop. It doesn’t surprise Hiei when Minoro growls and is the first to move forward again.


Minoro- We’re not fooled, whoever you..!

Hiei- Minoro, stand down.


* If his appearance hadn’t left them confused enough, his voice nearly floors them. Troiyoku edges forward cautiously, sniffing.


Troiyoku- Whoever you are.. You’re d--- good.. I’ll give you that..

Hiei- Boys, if you don’t calm down..

Sylk- Back off, you b------s!


* Hiei half glances up at Sylk when she comes out of the cave behind him.


Sylk- This is our Alpha!

Minoro- He sure don’t feel..

Sylk- Of course you sheltered pups wouldn’t understand.. Our dear Alpha has managed to kill that b---- Mukuro.


* Hiei now turns to look up at her, opening his mouth to correct her, but she doesn’t give him the chance.


Sylk- Let me guess.. You took advantage of her friendship..

Hiei- Sorry to disappoint you. But she was already dead when I got there.


* Sylk tilts her head down at him.


Sylk- Then how the h--- do you possess her..?

Hiei- She never removed my position as her heir from her books. Lucky me.


* Sylk backs off some.


Sylk- Th-then.. that means that y-you’re..

Hiei- Hn. The new Lord of her whole third of Demon World.

Troiyoku- S---.. Cou was right about you.

* Hiei half glances toward Troi, but ignores the comment for now to glare back up at the Pantheress.


Hiei- I came here to check on you, Sylk. Not to be disrespected.


* Sylk’s manner changes slightly as she backs away some more. Hiei calms himself down.


Hiei- We have much to discuss.

Sylk- I have nothing to say to you!

Hiei- Good. That means you’ll be listening more closely.


* Hiei looks back toward the three younger males who are still obviously discomfitted.


Hiei- If I were anyone else I would have taken advantage of your indecision and had your heads by now!


* Now Minoro crosses his arms.


Minoro- You could be just afraid of us and lying so we’ll leave and you can attack Sylk.

Hiei- Did they lop out your brains the same time they took off your balls?!


* Minoro slackjaws, then scowls.


Hiei- Return to the main cave and warn them about my change.. I’ll be there once I’ve said my piece to this Pantheress.

Silis- Guys, I think it’s really him.


* Troi and Minoro both look at Silis. Then they clop him on the back of his head as they turn to head back to the main cave. Silis rubs his head as he follows. Hiei looks back up at Sylk.


Hiei- Look. By whatever fates have cursed me to still be alive, we are stuck together.. You can’t stand me.. and I won’t release you..

Sylk- Only because of these b------s I’m..


* Hiei lashes out and shuts Sylk up with a firm cuff that catches her completely by surprise. The Koorime glances to the side when he hears a hiss. Eboni, who was staying partially hid in the cave’s entrance, makes herself known.


Eboni- Mother!?

Hiei- Relax, Girl.. I only injured her pride.


* Eboni looks at Hiei. He feels a moment of concern and looks toward her.


Hiei- How are you doing?

Eboni- Mother and I are both due any day now.

Hiei- Then I suggest you go back inside and rest.. I’m dealing with your Mother only because she’s forced my hand on this.


* Hiei looks back up at Sylk unsurprised that Eboni doesn’t budge.


Hiei- You don’t want me to shame you, so I won’t release you right now. But once these.. babies are born..


* Hiei reaches out and touches her swollen middle. He feels his energy surge into her automatically. When she gasps and braces herself back against the rock bank behind her the apparition smirks up at her.


Hiei- I’ll be honest with you, Sylk.. I’m not crazy about you being my Alpha Mate.


*Sylk senses that Sarista is the reason for his words and glares down at him. But it's the deeper reason for his trepidation that sets her off.


Sylk- You’re as stuck.. with me.. as I am with you!

Hiei- Hn.

Sylk- How dare you think.. that I would ever.. betray my mate! I was with Tsetsuya for nearly thirty years..!

Hiei- I understand that.

Sylk- I was right beside him when he was.. struck down.. I.. I couldn’t..


* Sylk lowers her eyes. Hiei sees her grimace and moves in closer to brace her up. He moves his mouth to speak against her ear.


Hiei- I’m your mate now, Sylk.. I’ll do whatever I can for you.. But I will not pander to your insecurities.. You must accept the past and move on.

Sylk- Let.. me go!

Hiei- No. I won’t.. If you want me to trust you, you got to trust me.. If I were like a lot of the other alphas in this d--- region you wouldn’t still be carrying Kurama’s babies.. Do you hear me?


* Sylk turns her face away from him, but he feels her calm down some. With a sigh, he moves back.


Hiei- When they’re born.. Then I’ll give you the choice to stay or go.. But you better take the time you have left to think it over if you can lay aside this stupid feralness long enough to do so.


* Sylk looks back at him.


Hiei- If you still desire to be released after they’re born you won’t just be losing me.. Do you understand what I’m saying? But let’s hope that once you’ve given birth your senses will return and we won’t have to go through that mess.


* Sylk tilts her face away from him, clenching her teeth to keep herself from incurring any more of his wrath. Hiei senses this and slowly backs off.


Hiei- Now that I’m the Lord of this whole third of Demon World I’ll need someone who can help me handle this region at my side.. I have a few possibilities, but you are definitely one of them.. Do you understand what I’m saying?


* Sylk looks at him with narrowed eyes. He squelches his own growl of frustration, turns, and walks away. Sylk stares after him, then swallows, and accepts Eboni’s offer to help her back into the cave.
