LOL, Tachi, I can’t tell you everything. You’ll just have to keep reading. But you know I enjoy hearing from you. :o)
Scene 7 -------------- Later That Day
* Hiei is checking Sylk again when he hears a couple of the other females scream. He stands up ready to take out his katana until he recognizes the two Wolf demons approaching. Hiei goes over to intercept them and they both sink to one knee.
Wolf Demon- We’re just bringing you some food, Master.
* Hiei watches the larger of the pair roll a deer carcass off his shoulder and lay it out on the ground.
Hiei- What are your names?
* The smaller Wolf touches his chest.
Barrett- I am Barrett.. This is my cousin Chujo.. I’m Barkolo’s younger brother.
Hiei- Hn.. How long do the two of you plan on hanging around like this?
* Hiei motions a couple of the females over.
Chujo- Our new leader ordered us to keep watch over you to assure your safe passge to the border of his Territory.
* Hiei looks up at Tachimaru and Chevaux.
Hiei- You know how to prepare this deer right?
Tachimaru- Of course.
* She gathers up the deer and they move away. Hiei looks back up at the Wolves.
Hiei- One of the females is ill.. It don’t look like she’ll be moving anytime soon.
Barrett- Understood.
* They turn shifting back into their full demon forms and Hiei watches them lope back into the trees. He moves to start helping Tachimaru with the deer, removing his katana.
Hiei- This might help.
* Tachimaru lifts one of her hands to show him her sharp, three inch long claws.
Tachimaru- I carry my own knives.
Hiei- Hn. But mine is bigger.
* Tachi purrs out an amused chuckle.
Tachimaru- So you can have a sense of humor.
* Hiei scowls up at her.
Hiei- I was merely stating the obvious, Tiger.. What’s your name?
Tachimaru- Tachimaru. I’m a pure Tiger.
* Hiei grunts as he uses his katana to quickly chop the deer into more managable hunks.
Hiei- Hn.
Tachimaru- Not bad.. So what type of demon are you?
Hiei- You can’t tell?
Tachimaru- I’m actually getting mixed readings.. And since you’re so short I figure you must be a hybrid of some kind.
* Hiei half glances up at her. Chevaux gives a giggling whinny. The Koorime lifts the large buck’s head, bursts it into flames, and gives it a toss.
Hiei- Fire and Ice.
* Tachimaru tilts her head thoughtfully.
Tachimaru- Odd mixture.. One would think those two elements would.. cancel each other out or something.
* Chevaux looks at Hiei.
Chevaux- It’s odd, though, to find an Elemental in this region.
Hiei- It’s a long story.. Just prepare this deer so we can all have a decent meal.
* Hiei starts to move away.
Tachimaru- Have we offended you, Master?
Hiei- No. I just have a lot of other s--- to deal with.
* He turns away with a slight growl.
Hiei- Show yourself, Shironji.
* The Ninjini demon materializes in his usual knelt position.
Shironji- I am here, Master.
Hiei- You bring news?
Shironji- Hai, sir.. Your mate Gamaru is refusing to eat.. He’s very distraught over the two babies he lost.
* Hiei looks away with a louder growl of frustration.
Hiei- One of these females was attacked by a flock of Bat demons last night.. I can’t travel again until she’s well.
* Shironji glances toward Sylk. He understands the apparition’s honor wouldn’t allow him to just leave her. So he gives no further thought to that line of action. Tachimaru and Chevaux exchange glances as they continue skinning and gutting the deer.
Shironji- The others are doing everything they can to help the boy.
Hiei- I want you to speak to Gamaru. Tell him that I’m returning as quickly as I can.. Tell him that if he don’t stay alive until I get there that I’ll drag his a—- back from Spirit World and kick it all the way to oblivion.. See if that’ll bring him around some, perhaps kick his stubbornness into gear.
* Shironji nods and poofs away when Hiei waves a hand dismissing him. The Koorime moves back over to sit down beside Sylk. The Tigress and Chevaux look at each other again. But neither knows what can really be said.
