Hiei's Harem - Pt. 13 - Inheriting

Scene 6 ---------- Two Days Later


* Hiei comes to a crouched landing just outside of Kumataro’s barrier. He’d taken his time returning, his mind still reeling on the recent events that had taken place in Alaric. The Koorime slowly raises up to his full height. He looks to his left when he feels the familiar presence approaching. It puzzles the jaganshi when he feels his senses sizing up the Crow. ‘Stronger than Kirin, but not.. strong enough’. Hiei is distracted momentarily from Dagon by the thought. But the taller demon quickly recaptures his attention when Dagon sinks to his knees. Hiei growls.


Hiei- What the h--- are you still doing here?!


* When Dagon actually cowers from him for the first time realization hits Hiei. He smirks with cold amusement.


Hiei- So you feel it, do you?

Dagon- Y-you.. killed her?

Hiei- She invaded my Territory!


* Dagon lowers his head, but fights his urge to flee as Hiei moves to face him fully. A new desire to assert his dominance over this subordinate that’s always flirted with him gives Hiei another pause.


Hiei- I asked you a question.

Dagon- W-when I heard that.. she was n-nearby I-I..

Hiei- Dagon.


* The Crow swallows hard and looks up timidly. With the power he now senses pulsing inside Hiei he knows, better than ever, that the shorter demon could reduce him to ashes in seconds. But still something urges him to remain where he is. Hiei gathers himself and relaxes.


Hiei- Stop cowering, bird. It doesn’t suit you.

Dagon- Y-you know I.. am loyal to you,.. Master.

Hiei- Hn. I said relax, d--- it.. I didn’t kill her.


* Hiei sighs and moves over to a fallen tree and sits down. Dagon tilts his head as he watches Hiei look off toward the mountain beyond the misty barrier. Dagon scoots forward, his instincts guiding him to keep low and unthreatening. He carefully lays one of his hands on Hiei’s right knee, distracting the Alpha from his sullen thoughts about how the rest of his pack will react.


Dagon- S-sir,.. explain?

Hiei- Her.. engineering had finally.. ceased functioning.. It turns out that she never removed me from being her heir.. I had no choice but to.. honor her last request.. and accept her orb.

Dagon- I’ve never been happier that I’m.. no stronger than I am.


* Hiei scowls back down at him.


Hiei- Why do I feel as though you know something I should know?


* Dagon blinks up at him.


Dagon- You’ve.. accepted the orb.. but not activated it.


* Hiei sneers when Dagon’s hand creeps further up his thigh. He can feel the Crow’s temptation growing, spurred on by the feeling of the power pulsing from him.


Hiei- So, Mr. Know-It-All,.. tell me how I.. activate it.

Dagon- Just the.. energy from the orb inside you has made you.. Quest Class..

Hiei- Hn.

Dagon- It’s pretty c-common knowledge.. Instinct, actually..

Hiei- Just tell me!


* Dagon swallows to bolster his confidence.


Dagon- You have to battle and kill another that’s near your own level.. or equal.


* Hiei scowls as he considers these words.


Dagon- Please.. Allow me to show you my.. honor?


* Hiei just grunts, but mostly ignores Dagon as he leans up to start opening his cloak. The Koorime’s thoughts are more concentrated on scanning his thoughts and memories for any possible candidates that he could confront. Just when one face comes to mind (1)Dagon leans to begin probing his chest. Hiei jolts and growls sending the Crow scurrying backward.


Hiei- No!


* Hiei stands and glances down at the apologizing demon.


Hiei- That wasn’t directed at you, bird!


* Dagon cautiously looks back up at Hiei.


Hiei- There are no other S-Class.. or higher.. demons in this region.

Dagon- No. You are the most powerful..

Hiei- Shut up.


* Hiei reaches over and snatches Dagon back up closer to him.


Dagon- You have better ways of grovelling.


* Hiei closes his eyes and sighs when Dagon resumes. The Koorime recognizes his own desire for release and sees no further need to deny himself since the Crow is so willing. The apparition demonstrates his new-found power and speed by positioning Dagon on his hands and knees so quickly it leaves him bewildered. When Dagon’s mind finally catches up he feels Hiei yanking his pants down. He turns his head to look up at Hiei over his shoulder.


Dagon- Sir, does it have to be.. like this?

Hiei- You’ll shut up and take it any way I..!


* Dagon sighs and lowers his eyes to stare at the ground. The sight of his submission nearly drives Hiei over the edge, but then he looks up as he feels three others approaching cautiously. Again, the Koorime smirks to himself, ‘Hn. Now I understand how Yomi has survived being blind..’ The three brothers stop not far from where Hiei and Dagon are. Something about the looks on their faces, and the way they hesitate to get any closer, snaps Hiei back to his senses. He looks from them down at Dagon. The usually brash, bold Crow is actually trembling. Hiei moves back away from Dagon, closes his true eyes, and opens his jagan. Falling back to using it to regain his civility as much as possible. The Lynx brothers all exchange glances, then Habataro starts forward. Kumataro grasps his arm with a worried growl. Habataro brushes the clutching hand away, then continues over to Hiei.


Habataro- Master.

Hiei- My new.. power is.. containable.. but just barely.

Habataro- What happened?


* Hearing, as well as feeling, the concern in Hab’s voice Hiei looks up at him.


Hiei- Lord Mukuro.. has passed on.. But I don’t want that publicized just yet.. Do you all understand me?


* When they all nod Hiei moves back over to place a hand on Dagon’s head.


Hiei- I.. need release.. But I won’t take it from you like this.


* Before Dagon can speak Hiei starts off toward the barrier, closing his cloak back up. It surprises him when Coutaro reaches out and snags his arm.


Coutaro- You really haven’t changed that much.


* Hiei looks up at him.


Coutaro- I mean.. besides being stronger..

Kumataro- You’ve reached Quest, actually.


* Habataro moves up behind Hiei and carefully embraces him.


Habataro- It’s been an interesting relationship between us, sir.

Hiei- You wish your freedom now?

All Three- H--- no.


* Habataro leans down to nuzzle one of Hiei’s ears.


Habataro- It’s just starting to get better.


* Dagon watches the three brothers surround Hiei, drawn in by the power they feel. He scrambles to his feet and goes over.


Dagon- Hey! It was my a-- he was gonna screw first!

Kumataro- Take a number, bird.

Hiei- Guys,..

Coutaro- Yeah. We belonged to him first.

Hiei- Hey!


* Hiei flares his aura some to get them all to back off.


Hiei- D---, this is going to be a nuisance! I appreciate the offers.. But there’s something more important that I need done.. Hab, I want you and your brothers to go to Ooshama’s fortress. You do know where it is. Correct?

Dagon- I know where it is.


* Hiei looks at Dagon.


Hiei- Hn, figures.. Then get your pants on and take these three there.. I want it checked out, cleaned up, and made ready for my pack and I to move in when we’re ready.


* Hiei looks back toward the ravine.


Hiei- This place.. will always be special to me.. It’s the first place I ever really called home.. But as a Territory Lord I'll need a more fitting place.

Habataro- Right.

Hiei- I have to go face my pack.. Kuma, I know your sons can tend this barrier as well as you.

Kumataro- Yes, sir.


* Hiei nods and takes off. The three brothers exchange glances, then Kumataro whaps Dagon’s rear as the Crow bends to pick up his pants. The Lynx brothers chuckle and start off. Dagon squawks then hops off after them.


Dagon- Wait! I’m supposed to be leading the way!


* He continues getting his pants on, then hurries to take the lead from the three jogging demons.
