Scene 6
Scene 6 ------------ The Next Morning
* With the coming of daylight Hiei relaxes and closes his eyes to rest them. When he feels someone approahing he already knows who she is. He opens pulls the bandana down over his closed jagan and looks at Eboni. She hands him a bowl of some kind of stew.
Eboni- Good morning, Master.. I’m afraid Bat was the only meat close by for us to make this stew with.
* Hiei scowls, but his instincts urge him to accept the offering. Eboni bows her head appreciatively. Hiei samples the stew as the young demoness looks around him to check on her mother. When Eboni’s scent hits him he moans and buries his nose further into the Bat stew. Eboni notices his reaction and giggles, then tilts her head to look toward her mother again.
Hiei- She’s still hibernating.
Eboni- She.. She doesn’t.. smell right.
* Hiei quirks an eyebrow. The only thing he can smell is Eboni. Another of the females comes over to sniff toward Sylk. The Tigress, Tachimaru, scowls.
Tachimaru- Eboni is right.. She must be sick with an infection.
* Hiei tosses the bowl of stew aside and turns to check Sylk closer. He nudges his ward back up to allow his jagan to scan her.
Hiei- She's having a reaction to those d--- Bats’ bites.
* Eboni crawls up onto the rock quickly to touch her mother’s forehead. When she glances up at Hiei and sees his third eye she shies back a bit with a gasp.
Eboni- S-she’s.. burning up.
* Hiei pulls the ward back down with only a half glance toward Eboni, rubs his chin a moment, then gathers Sylk up in his arms as he stands.
Hiei- There’s a river not too far away. We need to get her cooled down. Follow me.
* He leaps off the boulder, but measures his pace so the other females can keep up. When they reach the river he wades down into a shallow eddy and sits down, cradling Sylk on his lap. Tachimaru gathers the younger females close together and stands watch on the shore. The Tigress doesn’t say anything, though, when Eboni goes over to join Hiei in the water. The jaganshi averts his eyes as the girl removes the thin, short yukata she’s wearing and uses it to sponge the cool water over Sylk. The sight of her young body, aided by her scent, makes it hard for Hiei to totally ignore her. Finally he feels the fever’s warmth begin to ebb away. He stands and carries Sylk over to a shady area. Eboni follows.
Hiei- Her fever’s broke.. She’s fighting the sickness.
* Eboni sits down beside her mother and nods. For some reason, Hiei can’t seem to get his body to agree with the idea of flitting away.
Eboni- I know you must think my Mother is a real.. b----.. But it’s because you just don’t understand her.
* Eboni glances up at the Koorime timidly.
Eboni- She’s had to fight and defend our pack.. ever since Father was killed.
Hiei- How long ago was that?
Eboni- I was nearly five.
* She gives him a small, nervous smile. Hiei mentally groans to himself, but he still can’t get himself to budge away from her.
Eboni- You kinda remind me of him.. in a lot of ways.. He was a Jackal demon.
* Hiei’s knees buckle and he finds himself sitting down beside Eboni.
Hiei- Jackals are very similar to.. Kitsunes..
* Not too far away the three seated females look up at Tachimaru, then continue watching curiously.
Eboni- I wouldn’t know.. I’ve never known a Kitsune personally.
* Hiei looks away to avoid her yellowish-red eyes.
Hiei- One of my mates back in my.. village is a Kitsune.
Eboni- Oh, I can’t wait to meet her.
* Eboni giggles. The sound captures Hiei’s full attention again. The apparition mentally curses himself for allowing it to attract him as it does. He catches himself leaning closer toward her when Eboni tilts her head in timid submission. She’s picked up on her new Alpha’s intentions.
Hiei- How.. how old are you,.. Girl?
Eboni- I’m.. almost fourteen, sir.. In a couple weeks.
* Hiei swallows, growls at himself, then glances down at her slightly rounded middle. Eboni speaks again before he can muster up enough control to leave.
Eboni- Is it true that.. my cub’s sire is a Kitsune?
Hiei- Hn.
* She gives him an inquisitive look.
Hiei- That means yes.. Both you and your Mother were.. impregnated by the same Fox.
Eboni- I.. had no choice.. That big, ugly guy said he would’ve killed my Mother if I didn’t.. stop fighting them.
* Hiei straightens up and looks away with much effort.
Hiei- Hn.. He told your Mother the same line concerning you.. D--- b------.. I should’ve tortured him more before I killed him.
* Eboni lowers her eyes again.
Eboni- Well, actually.. He used my sister against Mother first.. But she refused to believe that he had our whole pack.. So that guy had my sister, Mystria, brought in.. He ordered his other men to.. rape her.. she was two years younger than me.
* Hiei can’t help but look back at her. He feels the girl’s anguish through the bond. Before he can stop himself he reaches out to grasp Eboni’s arm gently.
Hiei- Enough.
* At the contact Eboni leans toward him to hide her face against his chest.
Eboni- It was.. so terrible.. Watching them do that to my sister.. I couldn’t let them do that to my Mother.. When they took Mystria out she.. she wasn’t moving.. We couldn’t feel her anymore.. Then they seperated me from Mother.
* Hiei brings his arms up to embrace Eboni.
Hiei- Girl,.. I can help you forget all of that.. If you’ll let me.
* For several moments Eboni doesn’t move, then she slowly gives in to her instincts. Hiei’s eyes widen when she begins to work his cloak open. His rational mind screams for him to stop her, but once again his body refuses to listen. He lifts his face and emits a quiet growl as Eboni’s mouth probes a path up his chest to nuzzle under his chin. Then it hits him. She’s a young child seeking for comfort. Hiei swallows hard to find his voice.
Hiei- Girl,..
* Eboni shies back some.
Eboni- You don’t want me..?
* He lowers his eyes and becomes captured by hers again. His nostrils flare, filling again with her scent. Then Sylk’s words return to his memory concerning a male’s reaction to his Panther mate.
Hiei- Hn.. I do.. but..
* She shrinks away from him some more and looks away.
Eboni- My Mother has already warned me.. She told me that you wouldn’t want me because I’m.. pregnant to another..
Hiei- If that were true.. none of you would be here!
* Hiei looks up when Tachimaru comes over.
Tachimaru- Eboni, is he hurting you?
Hiei- Go back to your place, Tiger.
* Eboni flinches when Hiei shoves her up toward the Tigress.
Hiei- Take her with you! Keep her away from me!
* The Koorime is so upset with himself because of his near loss of control, that he doesn’t notice Eboni’s hurt look as Tachimaru guides her away. But he does hear her sob.
Eboni(Sobbed)- M-Mother was.. right.. He doesn’t want me..
* Hiei palms his face, but calms down as more distance is placed between them. He checks Sylk once more, then stands and goes back over to sit down in the eddy pool again. His eyes wander up the river as he wonders if it’s the same one that comes out of his ravine.

Now, don't forget. In no way do I condone any underage activities in real life. But this is fantasy and these are demons. This will be just one more situation that has been devised for our beloved Hiei to deal with. Will he be able to handle it? Or will he cut and run? lol.
