Scene 6
Okay. Here's a couple more scenes. please, don't let my fast updates hinder you from reviewing. Now, bear in mind that I go by the theory that demon children develop quickly, at least in the mental and energy areas.

Scene 6 ------------ Two Days Later
* Hiei is sitting at the table, holding River on his lap. He speaks with her normally as he meticulously breaks up a barely-cooked hunk of deer meat.
Hiei- It won't be long until you'll be big enough to hunt for yourself, Girlie.
* River looks up at him over her shoulder and laughs. The sight of such light-heartedness on a face that so resembles his own makes him pause his task. His overseer, Celestia, notices his sudden silence but just watches him until Hiei continues the task in silence. He quiets River's laughter when he offers her one of the tiny pieces of meat.
Celestia- See? I knew you could learn to feed her.
* Hiei doesn't respond.
Celestia- Of course, as you said, in a couple months or so she'll be able to feed herself.
* Now Hiei half glances up at the Wolf hybrid. Before he can say anything, though, something else catches everyone's attention to the mouth of the Main Cave. Sarista comes out with her twin boys, one perched on each shoulder. She pauses to let them get their first look at the outside world. Gamaru and Troiyoku glance smirks at each other, then Troi gets to his feet and goes over. Both boys set their eyes on him.
Troiyoku- Hello there. I'm one of your big brothers.
* Sarista motions toward the one with a white tuft in his spiked black hair.
Sarista- This is the eldest, Hisari.. The other is Sarhi.. Boys, this is Troiyoku, your oldest brother.
* Troiyoku steps back when they both begin to hiss at him.
Sarista- It's okay, Troi.. They do that all the time. Just like their Father.
* Hiei grunts, getting Sarista's attention. She goes over to sit at the table on the end closest to Hiei. River watches the two boys crawl down onto the table cautiously.
Hiei- Welcome to the outside, Imps.
* Hearing the familiar voice they both turn and start toward their sire. Until they notice River. Hiei's instincts tingle just a moment before the twins leap with snarls. The Koorime manages to stand and catch Sarhi, but Hisari lands on the arm that's still holding River. The little girl hisses and scrambles up onto Hiei's shoulder.
Hiei- Boys, stop!
* Celestia hurries around to take River as Sarista moves to get ahold of Hisari.
Celestia- D--- little helions!
* Hiei keeps his grip on Sarhi when the boy tries to leap toward River.
Hiei- Sarhi, stop! Now!
* He gets the small boy's attention when he pins him down onto the table. Sarista hurries over as Hiei lets out some of his aura. He then leans to snarl in the boy's face.
Hiei- I am your Father! You will listen to me! Both of you!
* Before Sarista can speak Hiei snatches Hisari to place him on his back beside his now-silent brother. The move stills the elder twin.
Hiei- That little girl is your sister! You will not harm her.. Nor anyone else in this pack!
* Hisari recovers and starts to attempt to bite the hand holding him down.
Hiei- If you do you will regret it.
* Sarista struggles to calm herself, knowing that her Alpha's show of dominance is necessary. Following his instincts further, Hiei clamps his mouth as gently as he can manage on one of Hisari's flailing, balled fists. As soon as he does this the elder twin goes completely limp so Hiei repeats the maneuver on Sarhi. The Koorime relaxes slowly when he sees that they are now under control.
Hiei- Go to your Mother now.
* He releases them. Sarista sits down as the boys scoot cautiously into her arms. Hiei hears River sobbing and goes to take her from Celestia.
Hiei- Quiet down now, Girlie. Let's go finish lunch.
* When he sits back down the three children look at each other, but no further hostilities are shown. Hiei offers River another piece of meat.
Hiei- River, those are your new baby brothers.. You will defend yourself if you have to. But you will not kill them.. Do you understand me?
* River nods and turns her attention to the meat. Hiei sighs and looks at Sarista.
Hiei- Will we have to go through that every time?
* Sarista chuckles.
Sarista- Fire offspring establish their roles rather quickly. Our children may all skirmish now and then, but they'll never harm each other too severely.
Hiei- D---.
Sarista- Even at this age they'll recognize blood.
* Hiei dwells on some of his early memories as he continues helping River eat. He then looks at the twins who are watching him with their wide open red eyes.
Hiei- Your sister is named River. River, your brothers' names are Hisari and Sarhi.. This pack is your family, boys.
Sarista- They'll recognize that soon enough. Hiei, we've raised babies before. Remember?
* Hiei half glances toward her.
Hiei- Well, I haven't.
* He looks at his Alpha Female when he senses her sudden twinge of guilt.
Sarista- I'm sorry. I forgot.
Hiei- Hn.
Sarista- Well, basically, it'll be for them like it is with you. When you bite them they recognize your authority. With the others, when they taste their blood they'll recognize it. This is why demon babies do a lot of biting.
* Hiei studies Sarista as he contemplates her words.
Hiei- So I.. basically.. over-reacted?
* Sarista smirks.
Sarista- You'll learn soon enough, Dearest.
* Hiei notices Hisari sneaking toward River again when she hisses. This time he just sits still and holds her tightly. He leans down closer to one of her tiny, pointed ears.
Hiei- Stay calm, Girlie. Just hold out your hand.
* River looks up at him wide-eyed. When Hiei nods River obeys and meets Hisari's eyes as she holds out one of her hands. The eldest twin inches forward, gets ahold of it and nips her thumb. River twitches, but remains quiet. In the next instant Hisari gurbles at her, then notices the pieces of meat. River hisses again when Hisari picks one of them up to inspect it curiously. When Hiei relaxes and releases River she lunges toward Hisari to get her food back. Hiei shakes his head and Sarista laughs when a chase ensues. Sarhi wriggles loose to go join. Sarista looks back at Hiei calmly.
Sarista- Don't worry. They're playing now.
* Hiei nods and turns toward Troiyoku when he gets a strange vibe from him. The oldest of his submissives realizes his error and lowers his eyes. Hiei decides that he'll talk with him later. He has another pressing matter to deal with. He just stands and leaves the clearing calmly. The rest of the pack gathers around the table to speak excitedly to Sarista about her new boys. The new Mother answers their questions and chats patiently, but keeps one eye on the playing children not too far away. They've discovered a small fuzzy worm to direct all their torturous attention on.
