Chapter Five

Kurama stared at Hiei, watching his posture for his next attack. He was already covered in scratches and had yet to hit Hiei. Kurama reached under his hair and pulled out one of his many seeds.

Hiei smirked. Ever since they had started this spar, Kurama had been terribly distracted. Hell, he had been distracted for weeks. “Fox, it is useless. I have already won this spar. Your head isn’t here; it’s at the temple,” he said, watching Kurama glare at him.

Kurama growled at Hiei. “Why would you say such a thing? I am not distracted,” and with that Kurama sent his ki into the seed, causing an array of black vines to form around his arm. He grinned at Hiei. “Do you know what this plant is Hiei? It is one of my very favorites. It looks harmless enough but as you will soon find out, it is anything but.”

Hiei took a protective step back, bringing his hands to block himself. “My, fox, are you actually ready to fight? Even though I am curious, which human you are interested in?” Hiei smirked as Kurama’s eyes narrowed, darkening from their emerald color to a deep forest green. “Is it that wild woman, Tai or is the little shy one?” he taunted.

Kurama sent his plant after Hiei, smirking as Hiei jumped away. Hiei easily dodged the vines coming at him but not the ones coming form behind. It easily latched onto his left wrist and ankle. Kurama laughed as Hiei let out a string of curses. “It is painful isn’t it? The vines let out a toxic gas that, if left on one’s skin for a time, will melt the skin off your bones.” Kurama smirked as Hiei paled slightly. “Just give up and I’ll let you go.”

Hiei tugged at the vine. It was already burning and Kurama was pissed off enough that he would let it kill him. All because the stupid fox was frustrated over a damn human. “Fine, I give up,” he said, muttering curses under his breath at Kurama.

Kurama released him and called the vines back to the seed. He put it back in his hair and walked over to his teammate and partner. “Ah, don’t pout Hiei, it is your own fault,” he said, sitting down on a large fallen tree branch.

Hiei sat down on the ground where he was standing, glaring at Kurama. “How is it my fault that you are horny over some human, fox?” he asked, rubbing the lightly burnt hair and skin on his wrist.

It was Kurama’s turn to glare. “I’m not frustrated over a human, damnit. I just haven’t found someone to satisfy me properly, and how the hell is this even your damn business, Hiei? You’re getting laid regularly I’m sure,” he vented.

Hiei smirked, resisting the urge to laugh. “Yes I am but please Kurama, don’t try to change the subject. If you are interested in the little human and end up hurting her then I wont be getting laid anymore, so who you’re interested in is my business,” he stated, looking away from Kurama to the direction where Kuwabara and Yusuke were sparing.

Kurama had the urge to groan. He hadn’t realized he had been so transparent. Ever since he had meet Aki, he had kept his distance, fearing he would begin to like the timid creature. The only times he had seen her since that first day were in class and the time Yusuke coned him into meeting Tai, her lovely best friend. He wasn’t really attracted to her; she was nothing more than a plain little human, which hides from her head to her feet behind yards of fabric, long bangs, and those awful black glasses. No, he could possibly want her for her appearance but something about her pulled at him. When he looked into her eerie warm eyes, he wanted to break her, hard. But Kurama knew that no human would be able to handle him as a full time dominant partner, especially the shy Aki. He looked back at Hiei, who was watching him closely. “I am not attracted to either of those girls. Tai, as beautiful as she might be, seems to one of those girls who doesn’t like to give up her control very easy and Aki, well lets just say she doesn’t even know there is such a word. Besides, she is boring. She has no body; her clothes just hang off of her. Those damn glasses hide her face and that bun is for old ladies. Aki must asexual and she has to be a dreaded virgin. No, there is no way in hell I want anything to do with her,” he said, leaning back against a nearby tree trunk.

Hiei laughed at him, causing Kurama to tense up. “Are you trying to convince me that you don’t want her or yourself?” he asked, his voice still full of uncontrollable laughter.

Kurama’s eyes widened in shock. He was so busy trying to convince himself that he didn’t realize he was giving to much information out. ‘Damnit, this girl is going to have to go. She is fucking up everything,’ he thought to himself. He looked back at Hiei and stood up. “I’m going to the temple. This conversation never happened,” and with that he turned form Hiei.

“Don’t touch the girl, Kurama. You are a youko and she is a human, you’ll only hurt her and get yourself killed. If you want, go for the other. She also knows about demons and could give you a run for your money” Hiei told him before Kurama had even taken his first step.

Kurama closed his eyes, trying to stop his sudden headache. “I have no intentions to pursue the damn girl. Hell, I want her gone,” he said and then he was gone, leaving Hiei to stare at his footprints on the forest floor.

************************************************

Tai watched as Keiko and Aki finished up with the food they were cooking for the group. Shizuru and Genkai were sitting back in their chairs, smoking their cigarettes and talking quietly. The blue hair female, Yukina was asking for the millionth time that hour if she could help. Keiko shooed her from the kitchen area. Yukina walked over to the table and sat down next to her. “So, Tai, how long have you and Aki known each other?” she asked innocently.

Aki’s head shot up from the cutting board were she was cutting up bananas, apples, and strawberries to fry for a split second. Tai caught her eye and smiled. “We meet about ten years ago,” Tai told her, picking up her sake, knowing she might need it to get through the evening.

Yukina smiled. “So how did you meet? I mean, you are both just so different.

Tai laughed. The naivety of youth. “Aki in an. orphanage of sorts. I visited frequently with my former . . . boss,” she said, picking her words carefully.

Shizuru and Genkai stopped talking to listen. “I hadn’t realized you were adopted, Aki,” Shizuru replied, finishing off her cigarette.

Aki blushed and continued to carefully cut her desert. “Yes, my parents weren’t fit to raise me.”

Yukina and Keiko ‘aww’ed’ her and Shizuru muttered something about big mouths. Aki smiled at them all reassuringly. “It’s okay. I much prefer being an orphan as opposed to being unloved. I’m perfectly happy,” she told them, a sweet smile plastered on her face.

Tai laughed and changed the subject. “I heard that you have a new love interest, Shizuru,” she said, effectively sparring Aki from the twenty questions that were on all of the other women’s mind.
Shizuru groaned. “Please don’t go there. He was a complete loser and sucked in the sack,” and they laughed for the next half hour until the boys walked in.

“Kurama, I felt you outside, why didn’t you come in?” asked Genkai, who had been quiet for some time. They had just finished dinner and had retired to her study.

Kurama grimaced, knowing he couldn’t hide from the old woman. “I just felt like talking with my plants,” he lied.

Genkai raised on grayish-pink eyebrow at him. Kurama was naturally a very private person but he had never lied so badly before. He stood away from the group, something that was common for Hiei but not the normally sociable fox. Kurama looked nervous as well. Genkai just shook her head and walked towards Yusuke and Aki, who were discussing the likely hood of trapped in the past with five hundred different ‘A’ class demons and actually surviving. She was getting to damn old for this shit.

************************************************

Keiko was getting bored. Even with Tai and Aki there, the party seemed to be going nowhere and fast. She turned and looked at Shizuru who was yawning and reading the warnings on the back of one of her empty cigarette packs. Suddenly she got an idea. “Hey, guys, lets play true or dare,” she said causing everyone to turn around.

Genkai got up and left the room cursing the dimwit, her age, and annoying young adults that never grew up. Kuwabara looked ready to choke on his drink, while Shizuru grinned maliciously. Yusuke just stared at her. “Uhh . . . Keiko, aren’t we a little to old for that?” he asked his fiancé.

Keiko rolled her eyes. “Of course not. We will just update it for an older generation,” she replied, looking at Shizuru and Tai for ideas.

Hiei ‘hn’ed. “What the hell is ‘truth or dare’?” he asked, watching the three silly human girls.

Kurama turned to him. “It is a human game where one must pick truth or dare. If truth is picked, then one is asked a question that they must answer truthfully or they are forced to do the punishment. If they chose dare, then they must complete a task. If they are unable to complete the task then they must do the punishment. It is not a game for cowards or those who have something to hide,” he said, reaching for the sake bottle again. He was well on his way to becoming drunk off of his ass.

Hiei smirked. “Bring on this human game. I’m no coward and have no secrets.”

After about ten minutes of talking, Shizuru, Tai, and Keiko finally had the finer points of the new and improved version of the game ironed out. “Okay, since were aren’t in high school anymore, there are no stupid dares like having Kuwabara run around in the woods for half an hour,” Keiko said, turning to her future husband who was grinning from ear-to-ear.

Hiei smirked, turning towards his mate. “You did actually do that did you?” he asked, fighting the urge to laugh at Kuwabara’s guilty blush.

Tai cleared her throat to get everyone’s waving attention. “The punishment for lying and being unable to complete your task is drinking five cups of sake,” she told them.

Yusuke gave her a confused look. “How the hell is that a punishment?”

Tai gave him an evil smirk. “We have been drinking all night. Lie a few time and you’ll pass out, and you never know what might happen to your body or where you might actually end up when you wake up in the morning.”

Yusuke gulped, realizing the danger of drinking around to many vicious women.

Shizuru got up from her seat and walked to the center of the floor. She sat down and everyone followed in suit. As she lit another cigarette, Keiko passed around a deck of cards. “This is how we will decide who gets to ask first,” Shizuru told the group, picking, turning over the first card.

After going around the group, Yukina got the highest card, the queen of clubs. She stared at the group before finally picking her ‘victim’. “Uhh . . . Keiko, true or dare?” she asked, a light blush on her nose.

Keiko thought for a moment. “Truth,” she said, ignoring Yusuke’s ‘chicken’.

“What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done?” Yukina asked.

Keiko laughed. “Agreeing to marry Yusuke of course,” she replied, laughing even harder at Yusuke’s cry of outrage.

Shizuru chuckled lightly. “Okay Keiko, it is your turn to ask and don’t try anything Yusuke. Everyone here will agree with her answer,” she said, watching Yusuke cross his arms and pout.”
Keiko looked around the circle, her eyes falling on Tai. “Tai, my dear, truth or dare?”

Tai grinned devilishly. “Truth,” she replied.

“How many men have you fucked?” she asked.

Tai sighed and began to mentally count all of her past lovers. “Lets see. Well over one hundred but other than that I can’t really remember.”

Shizuru handed her a cup and a bottle of sake. “You can’t answer the question so therefore drink up,” she told her, laughing as Tai grumbled as she drank five glasses of the strong drink.

It was now Tai’s turn to ask. “Yow, Kuwabara, truth or dare?”

“Dare,” he answered, grinning.

Tai grinned evilly causing Kuwabara to pale. “I heard you sing your favorite song in the shower, lets hear it,” she told him, running her hands through her short hair.

Kuwabara blushed and completed his dare with a bright red face and a laughing peanut gallery. “Okay, shut up. It’s now my turn,” he said turning to his laughing lover. “Hiei, truth or dare?” he asked.

Hiei looked at the human. “Truth,” he said, deciding to play the first round safe.

Kuwabara grinned down at his mate. “What is your biggest fear?” he asked, going for Hiei’s weakest spot.

Hiei turned to Shizuru. “Hand me the alcohol,” he told her, drinking his five glasses. He looked over at Kuwabara, who was pouting and had a hurt puppy look in his eyes. He sighed. “I’ll tell you later,” he told the human, smirking as Kuwabara smiled.
Hiei then turned to Yusuke. “Truth or dare?” he asked.

Yusuke looked at the fire demon wearyingly. “Uh . . . dare, I think.”

Hiei smirked. “I dare you to tell everyone in this room that I am superior to you in every way and that when compared to me you are lower than scum.”

Yusuke’s jaw dropped. “Who the fuck do you think you are, oh-great-short-one?” he yelled at Hiei.

Tai laughed and held up a bottle of sake. “Well then Yusuke, if you are refusing to do a dare then drinkie, drinkie.”

Yusuke paled. “Uh, sure Hiei, you’re the best and so much greater than me,” he told him.

Hiei’s eyes narrowed. “And.”

Yusuke rolled his eyes. “And when compared to you, I am the scum of the earth,” he finished. He looked around the room to pick his person. “Hey Kurama, truth or dare?” he asked after everyone had stopped laughing.

Kurama cleared his throat and drank down another cup of sake. “Truth,” he said, his eyes slightly glazed over.

Yusuke noticed this and chuckled evilly. “Kurama, if you had to chose one person in this world to fuck who would it be and why?” he asked.

Kurama groaned and prepared an answer but he slipped. “Umm . . . shh . . . Aki,” he mumbled.

Yusuke stared at him in shock. “Why?” he asked, looking at Kurama as though he had lost his mind.

Aki was bright red when Kurama looked over at her. Everyone was really quiet, to quiet as he came up with his answer. “Because, Yusuke, Keiko is yours and I have no idea where in the hell Tai and Shizuru have been,” he stated, effectively getting him out of on sticky situation and putting him right into another even more dangerous one.

Shizuru looked insulted while Tai looked astonished. “I never realized that you gave a damn about your one night stands,” Shizuru told him, causing him to grimace.

Tai’s comment hit well below the belt. “Maybe we wouldn’t want you, I hear you have quite a rep as a ‘fuck’em one minute and leave them before the bed gets warm’ type of bastard.”

Hiei shook his head as he watched the tense situation get worse. He cleared his throat. “Kurama, it is your turn to go next,” he said, causing the group to turn to him. Hiei glanced at Aki and noticed that her face was redder than Kurama’s hair.

Kurama silently thanked his friend. “Yes, it is. Shizuru, truth or dare?” he asked the irate girl, avoiding looking back at Aki.

Shizuru’s mouth dropped. “What the fuck? Insult me and then pick me,” she said, getting ready to throw the empty sake bottle at his pretty face.

Yusuke put his hand on hers. “He is almost drunk, Shizuru. Just answer him and get it over with without causing another war.”

Shizuru took a deep breath. “Truth,” she said to the fox.

Kurama thought for a minute. “What is your least favorite memory?” he asked, drinking yet another cup of sake.

Shizuru laughed at the irony of the situation. “You are drunk off your ass, aren’t you? Well, my least favorite memory is when you called me a whore in an almost drunken stupor,” she told him.

Kurama just nodded. “Okay, your turn,” he said, pouring himself another cup.

Shizuru looked at the only person who had been quiet throughout the entire game, Aki. “Aki, truth or dare?” she asked her watching the blush on her face darken.

Aki looked torn for a moment before she finally answered. “Truth, please.”

Shizuru smirked at the girl. “Have you ever engaged in any type of sexual activity?” she asked, watching the girl almost faint.

Aki took a deep breath. “Define sexual activity.”

“Has anyone ever touched you or have you ever touch them and has anyone used any of your holes,” she answered crudely.

Aki’s face went from red to crimson, but then so did almost everyone elses. “Yes,” she answered causing almost everyone to turn towards her with shocked expressions.

Yusuke couldn’t believe he had heard that. “Who the hell was it?” he yelled, looking at Aki in utter disbelief.

Aki smiled wide. “I’m sorry Yusuke-san, but I am nor one of those girls who kisses and tells,” she told them; standing up and going to the room Genkai gave her for the night.

Kurama was the one to break the eerie silence that had settled upon the room. “Well, I’ll be a son-of-a-bitch.” After that everyone decided the game was over and retired to their rooms, still wondering if Aki was telling the truth.

There you go Kittens! Okay, the game is stupid but it was needed for the next chappie. And did anyone notice that someone is missing? I wont lie and say that all the answers are about to be revealed. Why, that would be just cruel of me, but it might get a little hotter in the next chapter. Review and tell me if I'm wonderful or just wasting my time. Please Kittens. Well, till tommorrow, Kittens.
