Deaf ~ Extra
People seem to have a habit of getting confused by my work,
so I wised up a bit and decided to explain everything here so the readers would
get it (heck, sometimes I even get
confused). Wasn’t I smart?
First off – no, this is not the sequel to Blind. Blind and
Deaf stand on their own, but they both share the same concept and symbolism.
One is under Kurama’s point of view, the other Hiei’s, and they both lose one
of the five main senses that make them unable to truly know what’s going on in the
world they live in. Because of this, they become stuck between the real and
imaginary plane and have to break out of it before it’s too late. This all adds
up to the wonderful pain and torture I love to put them through.
Next – in this story, Hiei is constantly haunted by a
certain dream where voices surround him in an abyss. Each one leads to another
dream where he sees the ones he cares for most die under a bloody death. In it,
though, there was only one voice that would allow him to break out of the reoccurring
vision and pull him back into the real world. Him being ‘deaf,’ however, made
it harder for this voice to find.
In the beginning, we see poor, hopeless Hiei believing that
Kurama didn’t really love him and that everything that he heard from the fox
was a lie. From this, he falls into a dream that s fos for nearly a w(in
(in
reality, it only lasts for a few hours). In other words, Chapter 1 through 4
was only his mind. Chapter 4 was the last part of the long-term dream and
showed the one he loved the most out of everybody get gruesomely murdered. I
make Hiei spaz out and go insane for a few
paragraphs, until he remembers what life was like when he and Kurama first
became a couple. Realizing that his fox was telling the truth the whole time,
he shatters the dream of voices and finally drops back into reality. Chapter 5
shows him alive and awake and everything back to the way it was before he fell
asleep.
Make sense? Didn’t think so….
Anyway, that’s the basics. Blind and Deaf – what’s next you
ask? The third and final part will definitely be the most extreme, and if enjoy
Hiei screaming in pain 24/7 and Kurama trying to kill himself, then this is the
fic for you! I’ll just say that it’s pretty hard to
tell someone you loved them if you couldn’t at all….
Huggies to all my reviewers and to
Leecy for letting me ‘borrow’ her ideas.
