Hiei's Harem - Pt 11 - Asserting

Tachimaru, this is the sequel you've been waiting for, lol. POH, you ain't seen nothin' yet. You'll see what I'm meaning in these next two scenes. And it's always great to see a new face among my reviewers, Lyrics_Realm. Thank you!

Scene 5 ---------- That Evening


* Sylk stays seated on a boulder, her black tail swishing quickly as she and the others watch Hiei zip around gathering wood into the center of the area he’s decided to stop for the night. He then sends his black flames into the wood to start a dark fire that will keep them warm, yet not be very detectable. The Koorime glances toward the females then settles down, removing his katana from its concealed sheath to clean it.


Chevaux(Quietly)- He’s very fast.. and strong, Mistress. (1)

Sylk(Quietly)- I can see that, Chev.

Tachimaru(Quietly)- And very handsome.


* Sylk glances a glare toward the large Tigress whose eyes are focused intently on their new Alpha.


Sylk(Quietly)- He’s a short, arrogant little b------ that’s just been too d--- lucky.


* The Pantheress hisses her anger when she notices Hiei glance toward her, but remain where he is. She raises her voice to be sure he hears her.


Sylk- I’ve spent the better part of my life being dominated by males twice better than him!


* Her remaining pack all cast glances at her. Glances of knowledgable amusement and annoyance. As they’ve continued their trek through the day they’ve each watched Hiei’s every move and have begun to reach their own mixed conclusions on his worth to them. Then a younger voice garners their attention.


Eboni- But he’s already marked us, Mother. You know the laws concerning..


* Sylk looks down at her daughter silencing her. The former Alpha Female hasn’t been ignorant of the observances of her pack.


Sylk- Go ahead.. Go be his good little b----es if you want.. I’ll have no more to do with him.


* Eboni sighs disheartedly and lowers her eyes.


Eboni(Quietly)- I’m sorry, Mother.. I meant no disrespect to you.. I miss Daddy, too.


* Hiei rolls his eyes, growing annoyed himself at their bickering, and looks toward them as he stands.


Hiei- I’m going up into a tree to keep watch.. I want the rest of you to come closer to the fire.


* The females all look toward Hiei. He sheathes his blade and moves to a nearby tall tree. He pauses to look back at the females. While he’d been partially monitoring their words his jagan had been busily scanning the area ahead.


Hiei- The next Territory is dominated by a flock of Bat demons.. The border’s not very far from here. Coming closer to my fire will keep you safe and warm.


Sylk- Hmm.. I dare a Bat demon to come near me.


* She raises one of her hands to flex her claws.


Hiei- Hn.


* When he disappears in a blink the lower females all look up at Sylk again. The Koorime has been doing his own observing throughout the day. He’s come to understand their conflictions concerning him, so he hasn’t forced any dominance over them. He realizes, now, the value in Dagon’s words of why he should take his time travelling with these new females. They must learn to accept him as much as he’d had to convince himself of his new position over them. Sylk notices their looks and growls at them.


Sylk- Go on over by the fire.. I’m not moving.. I don’t need his protection.


* One by one four of the six females moves to huddle near the black fire. Sylk looks down at her daughter who has remained next to the flat boulder.


Sylk- Go on, Eboni.


Eboni- I’m not leaving you, Mother.


* Up on the high branch Hiei grunts softly, ‘It must be a Panther trait’. He then looks away to concentrate on the multitude of energies he senses in the distance. He recognizes them to be soaring, darting low-level Bat demons that are beginning to hunt as the sky darkens even more. For over an hour he keeps watch dilligently as the energies move steadily closer. When he senses some of the Bats change direction and head stright toward them he stands, but stays put hoping that they’ll not cross the Territory border. No such luck tonight. More have joined the few and their speed has increased. He realizes that they’ve been discovered and starts descending down the tree from branch to branch. Sylk feels him flare his energy and looks up with a snarl toward him just moments before a couple of the Bat demons swoop down to attack her. A couple others land and begin stalking toward Eboni who’s still asleep. Sylk notices, but finds herself too preoccupied to be of much help.


Sylk- Eboni!


* Just as the young girl starts awake a shadow flits over to snatch her away. Sylk screams angrily as she continues fighting the two Bats. When she notices Hiei placing Eboni down amongst the other females, who are now wide awake themselves, Sylk gives her full attention to her struggle. As Hiei begins to fight through the rest of the flock of Bats that ahve landed la couple of Wolf demons leap over to join the frey. They manage to kill two of the Bats that now have Sylk pinned on the large boulder. The rest of the Bats raise back up into the air to hover overhead. One of the Wolves looks up at them as Hiei comes over.


Wolf- You’ve invaded our Territory! Leave now or our leader will declare war on you!


* Hiei relaxes when the Bats decide to turn and head back to their own territory. He looks up at the two males standing on the boulder.


Hiei- I’m going to accept your help here as the tribute I asked for, Wolves.


* Hiei blinks up onto the flat surface to check Sylk. She snarls, but he can tell that she’s wounded severely and exhausted from even that brief struggle. He starts to try to help her up but she swipes a hand at him which he easily dodges.


Sylk- Don’t touch me! I’ll heal myself.

Hiei- You’re nearly ready to hibernate, Woman.


* Sure that the situation is under control the two Wolf demons leap back toward the treeline chuckling as they go. Another presence reclaims Hiei’s attention as Eboni climbs up onto the rock.


Eboni- I’ll help you, Mother.


* Sylk embraces her daughter.


Sylk- Are you alright?

Eboni- I’m fine.. Now lay still and let me..

Sylk- No.. You can’t, Eboni.. It would take too much energy.. You might lose your..

Eboni- I want to help you.

Hiei- D---, you’re as stubborn as your mother, Girl.. Move aside.


* Eboni cowers away from Hiei’s authority but he grabs her up and hands her off the rock to the Tigress as the others come over. Hiei then turns back toward Sylk.


Sylk- I said.. don’t..

Hiei- If I don’t give you some energy your daughter will continue to insist on doing so.. Now shut your d---ed mouth for a change.


* Sylk feels her instincts wanting to concede to his authority. She closes her eyes and lays her head down on the rock to glare at the dark sky overhead. Hiei shakes his head and lays a hand on her shoulder to transfer just enough of his energy to stabilize her own. Then he looks toward the others again.


Hiei- I’ll keep watch here.. You return to the fire.

Eboni- Mother?

Sylk(Quietly)- Go, Eboni.


* Eboni nods and returns with the other females. They help her settle down amongst them as they offer her whispers of comfort and encouragement. Hiei sits down on the edge of the flat boulder with his back to Sylk. The Panther demoness shifts her gaze to stare at his back until she finally succombs to her hibernation. Hiei glances back at her, studies her dark beauty for a moment. It’s more evident now in her relaxed state. He then shakes his head again and returns to his vigilance, ‘She’s one d--- stubborn b----, alright‘.

(1) I know this name is French for horse, but she is a Horse demoness. I figure just as there are different regions and languages in Human World there can be in Demon World, too. As the journey continues you’ll learn more about these four ‘lower’ females, too. Patience, my faithfuls. :o)
