Run 5

It's been a really long time. If there has been anyone that was actually waiting, sorry for the delay ^^

CHAPTER 5______________________________________

He regained his consciousness but did not open his eyes. Or rather, it was that he could not. There were small beeping and ticking sounds around him. Voices, there were also voices. Soft at first, then becoming clearer. The beeping sounds faded.

"Inform him that the subject has awakened."

He heard the footsteps leaving the room. Where am I?

Hiei tried to open his Jagan only to have a pain shoot through his body. He cursed under his breath, something was wrong. What was the last thing he remembered? Someone, someone had been there when he passed out. And exactly what did these people want with him? It was reckless to do anything drastic.

Hiei's train of thought was interrupted when he heard two pairs of footsteps coming towards the room.

"Is he able to move yet?” a new voice asked, a much deeper one.

"Not yet, Master."

"Good, he shouldn't be able to - his nerves need time to repair the burns."

Burns? Yes, he remembered a burning sensation before he lost consciousness. He had to think of something while they still thought him unconscious. He kept his breath even as footsteps approached him. This is what he mastered during his years in the Makai; to fool your enemy was to gain victory. Figure out the opponent before he figures you out - don't even give him the chance to start figuring.

"We have a lot to talk about Hiei-chan."

++++++++++++

Yusuke watched as Kurama concentrated his youki on the tree, his palm rested on the trunk. A sigh came from the redhead's mouth as he opened his eyes.

"Hiei has not passed this area."

Yusuke kicked the dirt under him. The Makai was a very large place. On top of that, their little demon moved a speed that could circle that big world in a minute. So needless to say, it was hard to find him.

When he heard another sigh from Kurama, he brought his head back up. It was time to be Yusuke.

"Don't worry fox boy, we'll find him."

Kurama simply smiled and turned back to continue their journey. Now he was glad Yusuke was here with him. The youth had an innocence his Youko soul never knew.

+++++++++++

"Ohhh Hiei... Wake up." He opened his eyes slowly, pupils shrinking, sensitive to the bright light shining on him. He would have turned his head but there was a sharp pain in the back of his neck. What was in front of him came as a surprise. The humanoid was definitely a demon, but that wasn’t what was surprising. What was surprising was that, in the dark hair that flowed by the male's shoulders, there was a distinguished streak of white.

Hiei immediately narrowed his eyes, "Who are you?"

A chuckle, "Why Hiei... I am your father"

Hiei was never one for words, simply eyeing the man suspiciously.

The man took his chin, "I'm actually surprised Hina actually let them throw you off the island. But that's because they saw how strong you are. My son."

The small demon looked around the room. The only light was the one on him. He sat up, rubbing that pain on the back of his neck. No one knew about his mother, and the only people who knew were dead or knew not to say anything.

"I can see that maybe you believe me my son. Now, I want to tell you. I want to help in your conquest of power. I can help you harness you fire powers to their greatest. Just say you swear your loyalty."

"Hn. I do not need to rely on you to become more powerful."

Another smirk. "I see, no you purposely left yourself open for my attack."

Hiei growled and looked away.

"Hiei, join me. No one can stop us."

He was forced to look into those eyes. Those crimson eyes. Those swirling crimson eyes...

AN: yes, short chapter. Sorry for taking so long. But now that my APs are over school isn't taking that much time from my life anymore. I've finally got this story planned out in my head, before I felt like it was headed nowhere. Hopefully I'll update soon, depends on when those creative juices will kick in. Maybe while I'm moving my fic to my new livejournal (listed in my profile.)
