Hiei's Harem - Pt 11 - Asserting

Scene 4 ------------ A Couple Hours Later


* Hiei kneels beside a small stream to lift a few handfuls of its cool water to his lips. In mid-lift he feels the multiple twinges of fear coming from the females he’s monitoring with his jagan. At once he blurs away. In a few blinks he reaches a wide meadow and skids to a stop. His six new females are in the center surrounded by a group of circling males. The way they are stalking around the females Hiei realizes that this small pack of Wolf demons aren’t looking to partake in the waning Springtime activities. He remains where he is, though, taking the time to notice that only two of the six females are actually doing any of the defending. When the Koorime finally blurs over to join Sylk and the other female, A Tiger demoness, to form a triangle around the younger females Sylk growls at him. But she wisely decides to accept his presence for the time being.


Hiei- These females are mine.. If any of you care to argue this just speak up.


* Hiei lets out only enough of his energy to overshadow the lower B energies of the Wolf demons. Soon after, all but one of them backs off.


Belatto- Who the h--- are you?

Hiei- I was about to ask you the same.

Belatto- My name is Belatto.. I know who that b---- is.. She and her subs have trespassed into my Territory. I also know that she’s as bad as any rogue and refuses to keep her place..

Hiei- They meant no harm. We’re only passing through on our way back to my ravine.


* Hiei keeps his eyes on the tall, muscular demon. He recognizes the name from seeing it on the list Habataro had shown him.


Belatto- The ravine, hmm? Then you must be the one.. I heard that old b------ Gamock finally met his match.

Hiei- Hn. My name is.. Hiei.


* Belatto scowls.


Belatto- Do you not understand the consequences of trespassing across another Alpha’s Territory?


* Hiei starts to give the usual answer, but then Belatto shifts into his fighting stance. Hiei’s instincts connect to the challenge. He half glances over his shoulder toward the huddled females.


Hiei- Just stay out of our way. We mean you no harm, Wolf.


* Belatto gives a deep, gravelly chuckle.


Belatto- You don’t want to fight me..

Hiei- No, I don’t. We’ll just be on our way.


* Sylk rolls her eyes.


(#) Sylk- You idiot, this Wolf’s not going to let us walk away.


* Hiei hears the message, but keeps his full attention on Belatto.


Belatto- Then maybe you’re smarter than you look.. There is another way that we can settle this.. I’m not above accepting.. payment for your safe passage through my Territory.

Hiei- Payment? I have no money.


* Belatto shifts his eyes toward the females.


Belatto- It’s been a busy spring for myself and my subordinates.. We’re too tired to hunt.

Hiei- So you want me to bring you food?


* Belatto groans and rubs his forehead. But it is Sylk that vocally rebukes Hiei this time.


Sylk- D---, you really are dense.. He wants us, you baka.


* Hiei glances up at her.


Belatto- Hey, I’m a fair guy.. I’ll settle for only a couple.


* Hiei glares back up at Belatto.


Hiei- No. These females are all pregnant.

Belatto- Hmm. You sure didn’t waste any time, did you, Young One?

Hiei- We’ll be going now.


* Hiei turns to start herding the girls away, but Belatto waves his hand to signal his subordinates to keep them surrounded.


Belatto- You either leave me a couple of these b----es.. or we kill you all.. Perhaps it’d be doing you a favor to rid you of this main troublesome b----.


* Belatto reaches out to get ahold of Sylk. Before the Wolf can even blink he falls all to pieces. Sylk stares at Hiei when he re-materializes, standing ready to fight the rest of the small pack.


Hiei- Who’s next to die?


* Hiei watches the younger Wolves glance at each other. He closes his eyes with a moan when they all fall to their knees begging him for mercy. The Koorime gives a mental curse that makes Sylk snort sarcastically.


(#) Sylk- What the h--- else did you expect?


* He casts a scathing glare toward her then gives in to the inevitable.


Hiei- Is this the whole pack? All of your males?


* They all nod.


Hiei- Which among you is the oldest?


* Sylk notices Hiei’s jagan begin to glow brighter behind his bandana. One of the males raises his hand tentatively.


Hiei- Stand up and approach me, Boy.


* The male obeys nervously.


Hiei- I’ll spare your life and theirs and make you the new leader if you’ll pledge your allegiance to me.


* The Wolf sinks to one knee and touches a hand to his chest.


Barkolo- From this day on I’m your servant.

Hiei- What’s your name?

Barkolo- Barkolo, sir.


Hiei- Hn. Figures.. Return to your pack and establish your new position.. Within the week I expect you to send two of these younger ones to my ravine with a tribute to prove your loyalty to me.

Barkolo- A tribute.. Of what, M’Lord? We’re a poor clan..

Hiei- I’m not a tyrant, Barkolo. Just send something that you can spare.

* Hiei moves around him to look at the five younger males.


Hiei- Any arguments with my choice of your leader?


* Only one of them lowers his eyes and refuses to join in with the others who are shaking their heads. As quickly as he’d dispatched Belatto, the rebellious male finds himself missing his head. Hiei shoves the quivering body backward with his foot and looks back toward Barkolo.


Hiei- Now you’ll have no challengers.


* Barkolo stands.


Barkolo- Pleasant journey to you, Master.


* Hiei turns and starts off again.


Hiei- Let’s get going, Ladies.. I’ve wasted enough time here.


* The five lower females look at Sylk. The Panther demoness growls and leaps off to catch up to Hiei. The others follow.


Sylk- This isn’t the last pack you’ll encounter, you know.

Hiei- Hn. On my way here I blew through at least three territories.. But none of them could catch me then.

Sylk- Then we’re slowing you down?

Hiei- Doesn’t matter now.

Sylk- You think we’re slow and weak because we’re pregnant?!

Hiei- Hn.


* He continues his steady pace. As he and the females disappear in the distance, the new pack leader motions to the four remaining subordinates.


Barkolo- Follow them to our border. Make sure our new Lord has safe passage.. But be careful to keep your distance from him.


* The four males all touch their chests and take off.
