The Prediction

Hey, On with the storiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! (yes, I know thats not how to spell story)


A coulple days pass, with Hiei spending time with the others. Kuwabara remains rude, like always. Kurama doesn't mention saving Hiei, and Yusuke is the all around nice guy that he is.

Finally, the day arrives and Koenma tells the team that a giant rhinoserous was reported to be seen in the nearby woods, by where Hiei had first seen Yusuke, acting like a fool of course.

They head off, and split up. Yusuke and Kuwabara, Hiei and Kurama.


Hiei looks over at Kurama, who has been glancing at him every few seconds.
"Hmmm, Kurama?"

Kurama looks over. "Yes?"
"You like me, dont you?"
Kurama blushes. "Well..."

"Well, then hurry up and say it."
Kurama sighs. "Yeah... I like you..."
"Hn, well, seeing as Im going to die, kiss me if you're going to, then."

"What?" Kurama asks, shocked.
"You heard me." Hiei faces Kurama.

Kurama blushes and leans forward, and kisses Hiei gently. As he moves to pull back, Hiei puts his hands on Kurama's cheeks, and holds him there. Kurama opens his eyes and looks at Hiei. Hiei's eyes are closed with pleasure. Kurama opens his mouth slightly, inviting Hiei's tounge. Hiei complies and slowly laps his tounge around the cavities of Kurama's mouth. Kurama's toungue moves to massage Hiei's, before pushing Hiei's tounge back and exploring Hiei's mouth.

Hiei's hands drop to Kurama's waist and pulls him close. Kurama does likewise. He gasps when Hiei runs his hands over his buttocks. Then Hiei breaks away, and looks at him sheepishly.
"Guess I wanted you, too."

Kurama smiles. "Now I am for sure not gonna let you die."

Hiei's smile drops off his face. "Still have that stupid idea in your head, Kurama?"
"Well, yeah, when I'd said I'd save you, I had meant it."
"Can't you just let fate be?!" Hiei growls.
"What fate? Some dumb machine? I wont stand for it! I cant let you leave me!!!!"

"Dont be so rash, Kurama."
"Im not being rash, Ive planned."
"It wont work." Hiei says crossing his arms.

Kurama sighs, he feels like shaking Hiei. "Dont you understand? I need you."
"Why? You have Yusuke and the others."
"So? It's not them I love... it's you. I love you, Hiei." Kurama says, his gaze falling to the ground.

"Kurama! Dont get yourself wrapped up in me! You'll just be sadder when I die!!!!!" Hiei hisses and storms off, leaving Kurama standing in shock, with tears in his eyes.


Hiei stops when he reaches the egde of a clearing. "Damn Kurama!!! He can't save me, so why does he waste his time trying? Does he care that much about me?"

Hiei walks to the middle of the clearing. And looks up at the sky. "I love him too... but if I told him that, he'd be even sadder. Why do I have to die now when I finally have admitted my feelings for that boy?"


Hiei hears a bush rustle and turns around. The rhino demon is standing there, glowering at Hiei. It's even larger than he thought.
For some reason, Hiei cannot break his stare at the beast. It holds him transfixed, like a deer in the headlights. 'This is the object of my demise.' runs through Hiei's head repeatedly.

The rhino demon charges.

Spirit World

Botan holds her upset stomach, knowing any second she'll be called to Earth to retrive Hiei's soul.

The death machine, as it's commonly known, rattles and another death slip prints out. Botan leans over and rips it off. She view it, and instantly pales.

"No, Kurama!!!" She races out of the palace and to Earth.

Earth

Hiei stares at the beast charging him. All of a sudden, his view is blocked by Kurama. Kurama had dropped his plans, when he'd walked into the clearing and seen the rhino rushing Hiei. He'd sprinted in front of the demon, blocking it's path to Hiei.
The demon focuses on this new target. Taller making it easier to hit and red hair making it easier to see. A much better target, yes, indeed.


"Kurama?" Hiei asks. Kurama smiles, faintly.

Kurama's head snaps back as the demon impales him from the back. His red hair flies back in an arc. Hiei gasps and stares at the bloodied horn protruding from Kurama's chest. He looks up at Kurama's pain twisted face. And anger boils up inside him.

The rhino is shredded instantly, and Hiei reached down and pulls the horn from Kurama. He throws it away, and kneels next to Kurama.

Kurama coughs, blood pours from his mouth. "H- Hiei? Did... I ... do it?" He gasps out.
"Yes, Kurama, you saved me. Now please, dont die. Please..." Hiei replies, tears falling from his eyes.

"N...now... you have.... to .... save...me." He coughs and chokes on his blood.

"I will, dont you worry. This might hurt a little..." Hiei stands up, Kurama in his arms. Kurama winces. Hiei rushes to the hospital.

When the doctors see Kurama, they ask no questions and run him to the ER. Botan arrives shortly.
"Hiei? You're alive?"
"yes, Kurama sacrificed himself for me."
"Where is he???"
"The OR, operating room."
"Oh... so now we wait?"
"Yes, now we wait."

She takes a seat next to Hiei.

A few hours later she sighs, and watches Hiei pace.

An hour later- "Will you stop pacing!? It's so annoying!" She yells at him.
A doctor walks up. "Excuse me?"
"Yes?" Hiei says, looking at him.
"Were you the one with the red head?"
"Yeah, how is he?"
"He's in the ICU right now, but if all things go right. He will survive."

Botan hugs Hiei. Hiei smiles, but pushes Botan away. "Get off me, you stupid wench." He mutters.

She grins and squeezes him again before relaxing back in her chair. Hiei rolls his eyes, and sits down as well.

A while later, Hiei looks at Botan when her head falls on his shoulder. She's fast asleep. He makes a disgusted face toward her, but decides not to wake her and soon falls asleep, too. **

When Hiei wakes up, he blinks a few times, getting used to the sunlight shining in his eyes. Glancing at the clock he notes that it is almost 7 am. Botan is also not next to him. Hiei stands up and streches. Then he asks a doctor, who was passing, about Kurama.

"Oh, you mean that red-head? He's been moved out of the ICU and is in room 36B, up the hall and to the right." The doctor points.

Hiei nods, and heads in that direction.

When he arrives, Botan is already there and bent over Kurama, who was looking up at her, but unable to talk and still had quite a few machines running tests on him and such.

Kurama looks over at Hiei when he hears the door and brightens.

"Hey, Kurama. Guess you lived, huh?" Hiei says, not sure what else to say.
Kurama smiles and nods.

"Oh, we were SO worried!!!" Botan exclaims, taking Kurama's hand. "Your close call has made me realize that life is too short to never state your true feelings, so I was wondering- Kurama, Will you go out with me???? I really like you, Ive had a crush on you since the first time we met. Is it just me or do we have a connection?"

Kurama's mouth falls open and Hiei growls. He grabs Botan's shoulders, and steers her out of the room, saying "It's just you!" He slams the door behind her. "...damn that woman..."
Kurama smiles, amusement showing clearly in his eyes.
Hiei glances at him. "Im glad you are okay. I was worried. You know, you shouldn't have done that..."

Kurama smiles and rolls his eyes. 'He's still the same."


A couple days later, Kurama is released from the hospital with a presciption for pain medication. Hiei meets up with him.

"Hi, Kurama. How are you?" Hiei asks.
"Hm? Oh, Im fine. and you?" Kurama says, looking up from the pill bottle.
"fine." Hiei hugs Kurama. "Kurama, I... I really like you, I suppose I always have, I just... you know, didn't want to admit my feelings."
Kurama nods. "I understand. It's just the way you are, and I would never want to change that."
"Thanks."


The two walk off to Kurama's house, officially starting their relationship. As in any relationship, they will have fights and hardships, but these two will ultimatly succeed in the end, to have lasting and fufilling lives together.

This is the first story Ive ever finished... tell me how it was. Also, I have another YYH story, it's called The Vacation (yeah right) and it's longer than this one, but not as good, so be patient with it, thanks!!

Okay, I know this is sorta Mary sue-ish, but it's a short story, dammit! Im not that great a writer!
