6 MONTHS LATER

 

“What’s wrong with Yusuke?” Kurama asked softly. Kuwabara shook his head. This was the first time all of the detectives had assembled together at Genkai’s just to relax and enjoy one another’s company. “Keiko left him.” Kuwabara said softly.

*flash back*

“I’m sorry Yusuke, I really am.” Keiko said softly. “Keiko…” for once Yusuke was at a loss for words. “I just can’t take it anymore. Always worrying whether your ok or not. If your going to come back this time, and I can’t ask you to quit. You love your job.” Keiko sighed and shook her head. Yusuke reached out a hand but she backed away. “No. I don’t think I can hold it together if you touch me. Please Yusuke you have to understand!” Keiko cried then took a deep breath to steady herself. She almost broke at the pain filled expression on his face. “I just wanted to tell you in person Yusuke. I’m moving to America in a few days. I was offered a position at a highly sought after collage and I can’t turn it down. Especially not now, good bye Yusuke.” She whispered and walked away before Yusuke could pull himself together enough to try and change her mind.

*end flash back*

 The shock was palpable as they all turned to watch Yusuke get pounded by Genkai. “when?” Kurama asked shooting a quick glance over at Hiei. He knew the little hybrid demon had deeper feelings for the spirit detective than he had let on. He could also tell by the way that Hiei stiffened slightly that he was listening closely. “Few months back after the last mission we all had together with the spider demons. He’s been living here with Genkai since training every day non stop. I think it’s his way of dealing with it.” Kuwabara said. “Hn. At least he’s being constructive.” Hiei growled. Kurama smiled. ‘Well well Hiei. What will you  do now that you can’t use his relationship with a ningen as an excuse anymore?’ ‘Hn. Mind your own business fox.’ Hiei growled but Kurama could see the small demon slit small glances from the corner of his eye at the spirit detective. “Hey guys! Whacha doin?” Asked a perky Botan as she joined the small group. “I was just telling them about Urameshi and Keiko’s breakup.” Kuwabara told her. “Oh yeah I guess no one told you yet.” Botan said in a soft voice. “It’s so sad. I wonder if she’s told him yet?” She mumbled almost to herself. “Told him what?” Kurama inquired curiously. Botan blushed then lowered her voice. “Well you see, the things is she called me last month to tell me that she was dating again. Apparently this incredibly gorgeous blond from the physics department asked her out on a date and they just kinda hit it off. She wanted to tell Yusuke but I think she was afraid of hurting him, and by the looks of thing’s she was right.” “I don’t know about that. Maybe if she did he might be able to let go of her and move on.” Kurama murmered glancing once more at a narrow eyed fire demon. ‘Ningen whore.’ Hiei growled to himself. He wasn’t sure when he had started to desire Yusuke but even when he had realized (after a small push from a certain fox.) it he had kept his distance from the spirit detective out of respect for Yusuke. Hiei shifted uncomfortably. Now that the ningen was gone from the picture he was mostly free to pursue the detective. The question was did he really want to? Would Yusuke be receptive of the attempts from him? Or would it disgust him as it would so many other ningen fools? Most demon’s didn’t hold the same contempt for gender in relationships as ningen, they also didn’t hesitate to take more than one lover or mate so long as the existing one’s were in agreement. But the spirit detective was raised as a human despite his half demon blood. His contemplation was interrupted as botan let out a squeak. “I almost forgot! Koenma wanted me to ask you all something!” She said and called for Yusuke and Genkai to join them. “What the fuck do you want!” Growled Yusuke agitated at the interruption. Training was the only time he could go all out and not think about Keiko. While admittedly he had finally let her go, yes she had called and left a message for him at his mother’s, he was still at a loss for. He was starting to feel a little lonely but he really didn’t have any desire to go out on dates with some stranger. Not to mention how exactly did one date when they had to keep a huge secret like being a spirit detective?  “Well the thing is your team has gained two new spirit detectives!” Botan chirped which surprised them all. “However they need somewhere to stay while there here and since they are a little unused to ningen we thought it might be best if they stayed with one of you for a few months until they are able to better adapt to the ningenki. I told Koenma it was a shot in the dark since Kurama here is really the only one who lives alone but he wanted me to give it a try anyway! We will be providing rent and all the necessities for them so they wouldn’t really be a burden on anyone.” The detectives stared at her. “Since when did spirit world do all that?” Yusuke asked. Botan grinned. “These two are a little different. It’s not really spirit world so much as Koenma and his father covering their expenses. Call it their gratitude for work well done.” Botan giggled again. “As much as I love to help Botan my apartment is to small to house two people.” Kurama declined politely. Obviously Hiei was ruled out as he slept in trees for the most part. Kuwabara shook his head. He still lived with his sister. That left Yusuke. “Sorry Botan, you’d have to ask grandma here since I’m kinda living here now.” He told her. Genkai looked like she was thinking. “There’s an old cottage the care takers use to live in on the back of the property they can use. But they better stay out of my way and the rent won’t be cheap.” She growled. (Poor Koenma’s wallet.) Botan grinned and clapped her hands. “Excellent!” “Dimwit! Go inside and get the cleaning supplies. You’ll be helping with the clean up!” Genkai ordered and Yusuke turned to go grumbling. Kurama stood up an ideal forming in his head. “We would be happy to assist you with the clean up Genkai. Consider it a welcome for the new members, right Hiei?” He called sweetly. Hiei glared at him in annoyance. ‘Come now Hiei. Here’s your chance to spend some alone time with Yusuke.’ Kurama giggled a little. “Hn.” Hiei growled. “Well if the shrimp’s going than so am I!” Kuwabara yelled. “Do you even know how to clean?” Yusuke shot at him coming out with the supplies. “Hey!” Kuwabara shouted. Botan giggled as they all followed Genki toward the old cottage. Yusuke snorted. The so called cottage  was more like a two story house. Heading through the front door there was a small entry way which let strait into a decent sized living room. From there was a equaly sized dining room. A small set of stairs let up on the left side but they bypassed those for now. The modest sized kitchen followed with a small island in the middle of the room. A small entry from there let to a half bath and a back door. Opening it they glanced into the carpeted sunroom. Returning to the dining room they went up the stairs to find three bedrooms. The first looked to be the master which had an attached master bathroom. Jack and jill sinks were to the immediate right,a seprate stand in shower and a whirlpool tub. The other two berooms were equal in size and both connected to a second bathroom. “Jeez Grandma you never told me about this place!” Yusuke said with a whistle. “Humph. You’d just trash the place Dimwit.” Genkai glared. Yusuke grinned. “Why don’t you and Hiei start in here? Botan and I will clean the master and Kuwabara can start downstairs.” Kurama said innocently. Hiei glared at him as the others just shrugged. Genkai followed the ‘idiot’ down the stairs. Somewhere during the cleaning of the second bedroom Hiei ‘accedentily’ tripped Yusuke cause them to fall in a tangle of arms and legs. Hiei of course managed to land on top, his face only inch’s from Yusuke’s. 

Yusuke looked up uncomfortably into the red eyes above him. His heart started to beat a little faster and he couldn’t understand why. It was just Hiei…who…hadn’t moved…”Uh dude…think you can get of me now.” Hiei smirked before closing the last few inch’s to take the boys mouth with his own. Yusuke guys let out a strangled sound and stilled. ‘What THE FUCK!’ He thought to himself when he heard a soft moan. Then he realized that the sound had come from him. ‘Oh god….I did NOT just do that…what…’ his thought trailed of as Hiei’s tongue slipped past his lips to tangle with his own and he was suddenly lost in the pleasure. He didn’t understand why but it had never felt this good on the few occasions he had kissed Keiko. He gasped and arched in pleasure as Hiei’s hips ground into his. His dick was growing harder with each thrust and suddenly he began to kiss back. It was Hiei who groaned this time. The feeling of Yusuke’s growing erection was driving him mad. His ear twitched and he growled in frustration before moving across the room to the nearest window. Yusuke blinked in confusion and slowly got to his feet. ‘What the fuck was that!’ He wondered turning a wide eye’d look at the smirking Hiei. Just then Kurama and Botan walked into the room. Kurama quirked a brow at the flushed face of Yusuke and shot a glance at Hiei and grinned. “Sorry to interrupt. Botan said she need’s to head back and I promised to take my mother out for dinner.” Yusuke cleared his throat and shifted. “uh yeah, thanks for helping out guys.”  “Uh..” Botan started but Kurama interrupted her by guiding her from the room. Yusuke turned back to the window but Hiei was already gone. “Son of a bitch.” He growled. He wanted an explanation but more than that…he was hard as a rock and it HURT damnit.
