Start of something bad
In his never-ending fight to escape the light of day, Kuronue promptly drooped pillow on his head to block out the morning sun. Cleo was still quite asleep, and snuggled up close to him. Her calm even breathing soothed his nerves. It was almost as if he was frightened that she would fall asleep and never awaken.
But Kuronue knew better this wasn’t the simple minded cat he used to travel with, if he were to tell you the truth he would have said the cat was only there for a good fuck. The stupid Persian wasn’t too bright and Kuronue really didn’t miss him at all. And he certainly didn’t mind Yomi and Cleo taking his place. He curled back up around Cleo and tried his best to ignore the summer sunrise.
“You still moping Kurama?” said Yomi, Kurama looked behind him he really didn’t care. Kurama had managed to find a nice little fox girl to rut with.
(Insert your evil sexual fantasy with you as the fox girl here. In English I’m letting you imagine what happened there. ^,~)
Kurama just snorted and went about his own business. Yomi took this as a ‘go fuck a tree’ and left. He noticed the morning sun was abnormally bright. That was one thing the old bat wasn’t going to like. Being a creator with sensitive eyes light wasn’t a blessing.
He walked through the garden that was made mostly of guard plats, the massive garden surrounded the whole complex and hid the little cove so their hideout could not be found, only thieves accompanied by Yomi Kurama or his sister passed unharmed or even at all. The lucky wannabe’s that managed to get in the cove were granted the chance to become part of their little guild.
Yomi approached his small group of flowers and motioned for them to fallow him out and towards a little something he wanted to pick up for Cleo’s new pet, it was a sword he him self had a eye on but he really had no use for it saying as it was made to absorb light and not emanate it. Basically it was a weapon that couldn’t be shiny but it was powerful. Still Yomi had better, he had few shiny fire throwing swords hidden away somewhere.
It was his private collection of shines, a massive treasure cove hidden with wards and spells made to detour treasure hunters and thieves, like him, foolish and would do anything to get what they desire.
As Yomi exited the premises Kurama smiled to himself, Yomi had not a clue as to what awaited him. Kurama felt very pleased with himself, he had managed to get rid of bad influence and now his sister could live peacefully with her nice new mate.
Yield did he know Kuronue saw the whole thing and knew what that look meant. There was something Kurama knew that he wasn’t going to tell. Kuronue knew the phrase curiosity kill the cat unfortunately he lived by the extension satisfaction brought it back. And he knew how the game gathering info worked.
Cleo was admiring the lovely blooms on one of her deadly plants, when her brother waltzed by with a smug look on his face, Cleo decided things went going to look too pretty in the future if her brother was going to go and do something stupid. She would have to what to make her move when all the missing returned or at lest most.
“Oi, new guy may I bother you?” Kuronue looked down to find Cleo’s brother.
“My name is Kuronue!” Kurama didn’t seem to like that glare, it bothered him.
“Well might I ask how you know my little sister?”
“Back when we were little you brought her right into my dwelling, and that’s when we first meet.”
“Dam, so that could have been a bigger youkai.”
“Ya you kind of got a little stupid didn’t you Kurama?”
“How did you?”
“Your sister told me.”
“Oh, well I was about to go ‘admiring’ a cretin pair of Kasigamas saying as I can’t use them.”
“So you were going to steal them so no one else could use them.”
“Unless another thief could…”
“Well might as well tag along, they might be worth stealing from you.”
“Oi bat boy that wasn’t nice.” Kuronue just laughed evilly as Kurama led the way to the prize the two of them had there eyes on. This was how their little partner in crime thing started. Cleo didn’t ask what they were doing because she knew and it still didn’t bother her. Yomi and his crew never returned. Her and Kuronue hit a little rocky part in their relationship where he would be gone flowing her brother and ignoring her completely, she had no doubt they were ‘practicing’ cretin skills while out and about.
Cleo’s worry for Yomi never faded over the long years, as a matter of fact she found out that he was still alive but didn’t plain on telling her brother, today was not a pleasant one she and Kuronue had a big argument and he went off with her brother to go fetch a golden mirror. She wanted him to stay with her and wasn’t too happy when he promised he would find her something pretty and shiny to bring back.
That night when Kurama returned and said Kuronue got caught and he didn’t know if he escaped or was even alive Cleo had had it, she ran out to find Kuronue not listening to her brother and getting her plant pets to barred the way so Kurama couldn’t follow. That was the last time he would ever see his sister at lest without a human forum. For a week later he went in search of some artifact that was once used to summon a god of healing and had been shot by the hunter thus reborn now as Shuichi Kurama.
He had forgot all about his sister, even a reencounter with Yomi couldn’t remind him. But now he had been invited to some sort of tournament and was suppose to be a participant, something that slightly bothered him. Koenma was saying something about a bazaar fighter appearing in the roster. The mane Cleo-Reia Sanio rang an all too familiar bell.
The boat was minuets from docking and there was no use in attempting to fight the others saying as her little group had already taken out the majority of each team. But they insisted. With as snap of her fingers and a flick of her wrist there was nothing remaining of what were once the mighty demons. She walked down from the platform with a grin of malice on her face. This was no ordinary tournament they were going to come upon.
She looked to her silent companion and the demon king known as Yomi, often misconstrued for a ram or goat but she knew better his attitude was not that of a goat, no mater how you looked at him goat didn’t seem to fit appropriately, there were far too many horns and he did have that don’t mess with what is mine thing going.
She wanted to laugh at the fools that sought to challenge him, but it was their death warrant. She wondered towards her crew the cloaked figure looking a little concerned the dock approached and the other campaigns were there along with a boy who looked alot like a 10 yr old Kuronue in appearance, he took off headed towards the island.
----------At the Docks----------
Kurama was a bit on the nervous side his parents had found out and insisted on coming they were a bit surprised to find a bazaar creator was their escort. “So Jin, when is the boat due to arrive?” His mother asked while Kurama’s attention was drawn to a woman that looked like she could be his twin.
“Lassie have wee bit o’ restraint the boat is right there, ai Cleo, nice shot there I didn’t even see what ye did to em.”
His parents were kind of in aw when they saw the woman jump off the boat and onto the docks like a nimble cat. “Why thank you Jin, but I’m afraid I’m a little rusty.”
“If that’s ye rusty I’d hate to see the misfortunate fool to catch ye when ye have had a chance to warm up so how be the wee twins.”
“They will be participating, or at lest Icco will Shana didn’t want to see her brother make a fool of himself, and their father is here to don’t expect us to go easy on ya.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it, oi there Icco.”
“Jin,” Kurama interrupted a little shocked. “may I speak with you a while?”
“oi sure what is it.”
“Did Kuronue survive the bamboo trap without me knowing.”
“Oh what little faith just like when you were little.” Kurama’s parent went to see about the arrangements things were getting a little weird for them. Kurama’s mother was sure he had the perfect explanation and was going to get it out of him late if she had to torture him with nuggies.
“Kuronue???”
“My you have forgotten, someone is going to torture you for this. You know you should tell that poor ningen woman what you did to her sun, or should I say what her sun really is.”
“I would rather not put her in that stress.”
“Fine, oh I take it you have meet my sun Icco,” the small boy went to hide behind his father. “He will be joining the Jr. Division, there is no killing there they don’t want to risk the life of a young demon. Mostly Shura he likes to cause a little uprising.”
Kuronue left Kurama there the rest of the team flowing with the exception of Yomi who looked at Kurama with a bit of malice in his gleam. “I have to hand it to you Yomi, even thou you are blind you can still throw one hell of a death stair at your opponents.”
“Shuichi!” Kurama cringed at his mother’s tome and Yomi found some minute humor in the whole thing. “First things first, you don’t go throwing someone’s disability their face….”
“Pardon the interruption but I don’t really mind, it has gotten to a point where I don’t even notice it anymore.” Yomi politely interrupted his mother bowing slightly.
“Second, where have you met such an obviously daunting figure before...”
“Ah I can explain that you see last year, I had need of your sun’s expertise you could call it an internship if you like.” Kurama was slightly grateful Yomi didn’t tell his mother the truth, and his mother looked kind of pleased with the answer. “Since I will be participating you may use the box seats they have reserved for me and my guests, no need for you to be in the crowd. Trust me as the tournament progresses things always get ugly!”
“Makes me worry about my child.”
“Don’t worry miss….”
“Minamino.”
“Ah of curse I’m bad with some names please forgive me, Miss Minamino, I doubt you sun will make it past my team, and some of us have a bad nagging habit of wanting tows we defeat to live, specially myself.”
“With the exception of the one that blinded you,” Butted in Kurama only to get an annoyed hiss from Yomi
“You just keep that cocky altitude up and Cleo will have no problem taking care of shutting you up. Gods know she has reason enough o do far worse.”
“I don’t even know her.”
“Oh dear god, that is sad did you honestly get hit THAT hard?”
Before he could say another word realization downed on him and he remembered the reason he wanted to live so badly. “Oh crap I’m toast!”
