Hiei's Harem - Pt. 13 - Inheriting

Oops, I calculated, miscalculated, then recalculated. I’m pretty sure I got it right this time. There are 5 sequels left to this story. I just had to get the paperwork in order. This is the last scene for this one and I’ll start the next sequel “Changing” on Monday. For both of you (lol) wondering about Sylk, well, I’m not going to give the plot away. That just ruins the suspense, doncha think? :o)

Scene 25 ------------ The Next Day


* The sun is nearly straight overhead when Hiei finally nears the clearing around the main cave. On his way back after Sylk had left he took a detour to clear his head.. and some trees. He finally had to use the jagan once again to get his temper and instincts back under control. It took a couple hours of raging against their urging to go get the stubborn female and drag her back by her tail, then cower her, but he finally managed to settle down. Hiei pauses near the edge of the clearing considering his decision once again. No. That wouldn’t have been the right thing to do. In a way he admired her saucy nature. Albeit a different type of sauciness than he fell for in Sarista. As he looks into the clearing he is fascinated to find Lily, in the natural alcove, nursing the abandoned twins. He shakes all other thoughts out of his befuddled head and makes his way over to stand closer. Lily glances up at him.


Lily- ‘Bout time you get back.

Hiei- Fox,.. how..?

Lily- A special plant of my own creation, of course. They needed to eat, and since the new girl is still out..

Hiei- Oh s---!


* Lily snickers when Hiei blinks into the cave. He glances toward Sarista and Celestia who are trying to quiet Eboni’s twin girls.


Hiei- I forgot about doing that to her.


* He goes into the alcove and looks down at Eboni with his jagan open behind the ward. He relaxes and closes it when the young demoness begins to stir and stretch. He helps her sit up and she rubs her temples.


Eboni- Man, I must’ve hibernated big time.

Hiei- Hn.


* He glances a glare toward his other two females when they snicker. Luckily, the sound of her crying babies registers to Eboni and distracts her. She bowls Hiei over as she hurries over to them.


Sarista- They’re okay, Momma. Just hungry.

Celestia- Here, sit down and we’ll help you.


* Hiei gets up, dusts himself off, then moves to lean in the alcove opening to watch the two older females help Eboni situate her twins. The younger demoness coos comfortingly to her kits as they begin to nurse. Sarista then goes over to face Hiei, but he avoids her eyes.


Sarista- She’s gone.

Hiei- Hn.

Sarista- You released her?


* Hiei lowers his eyes. Eboni glances toward them.


Hiei- No.. She wouldn’t let me.. touch her.


* Sarista feels his renewed anguish and raises a hand to touch his chest.


Sarista- I’m sure you did your best.

Hiei- She refused to listen. I refused to cower her.. She’s searching for death so she can go be with..


* He half glances toward Eboni, then growls and turns away to go back into the alcove. Through the bond, Sarista had felt his thoughts turn briefly to Staci. The Fire demoness follows him and sits down facing him.


Sarista- You didn’t release Staci, either.

Hiei- No.

Sarista- But did you really want to release her?


* Hiei raises his eyes and attempts to glare at her. But his protective instincts kick in to prevent his aura from flaring up too much. Still, Sarista lowers her eyes.


Sarista- If you want me to leave..


* Hiei feels himself drawn to her because of her show of submissiveness and calms himself. He shakes his head and reaches out to draw her into his arms. Sarista relaxes and snuggles into his chest, inhaling his scent deeply.


Sarista- There’s a lot of dangers and crimes committed in this world every day, Darling.

Hiei- I know. The position I’m going to be taking will probably bring all of that right to..


* She reaches up to quiet him with her free hand. He meets her bright red eyes.


Sarista- But emotions.. like love.. are neither crimes nor a danger.


* When her words sink in Hiei bows his head to hide his face in her soft, spiky hair.


Sarista- Your life changed the moment you entered this ravine.

Hiei- Maybe I’m still realizing just how much.. Everything has happened so fast.


* They feel Eboni come back into the alcove. She sinks to her knees beside them, but well enough away to indicate her respect of Sarista’s elder position.


Eboni- Master,.. my Mother has left?

Hiei- Hn. I couldn’t stop her.


* Eboni lifts her eyes to show him her worried gaze.


Eboni- With my little brother and sister?

Hiei- No. She left them here.. Lily’s nursing them in the other alcove outside.


* She stands.


Hiei- Girl,..


* She looks back down at Hiei.


Hiei- You have two babies of your own.. You let Lily take care of your siblings.. You can help if she needs it, though.


* Eboni nods and bows before leaving. Hiei sighs and looks back down at Sarista.


Hiei- That Fox never ceases to amaze me.

Sarista- She says it’s some kind of plant she ingested that has triggered her to produce milk again.

Hiei- Hn. It’s always some kind of plant with Kitsunes.


* Sarista smiles.


Sarista- Taking care of them will help her, too.

Hiei- I hope so. I don’t want to lose anymore.


* Hiei looks away. Sarista sighs deeply.


Sarista- You know how to go see Staci.

Hiei- Right now I have to concern myself with moving all of you across the region to the fortress.. Then, while you all get settled in I have to go accept Mukuro’s position officially.. Then, I suspect all h--- will break loose.

Sarista- Why should you think that?

Hiei- I told you before about the other two.

Sarista- Hn.


* Hiei rolls his eyes back down to meet hers.


Hiei- I doubt that Urameshi will have any problems with it.. He usually just goes with whatever changes come.. But it’s the other one that concerns me more.. That Goat Yomi is too d---ed unpredictable.. And he’s ruthless.

Sarista- He’s blind, isn’t he?

Hiei- That’s hardly a handicap with him.


* Hiei takes a deep breath and relaxes when Sarista leans up to begin nuzzling his neck.


Sarista- You need to relax.. for a while.. May I distract you, M’Lord?


* Hiei moans his usual ‘Hn’ and gives himself over to his mate’s seduction.
