Scene 25
tigerlily193, begging will get you no where (LOL, J/K) but flattery will get you another scene.. Or two. :o) I'll get these out as quickly as I can to keep the story flowing. But an old, clunky keyboard and arthitis are not a good combination. :o(

Scene 25 ---------------- That Evening
* Getting used to Hiei's routine, hardly none of the others pay much attention when he stands and moves toward the lookout. Just before he can flit up to his usual spot he hears a commotion break out behind him and turns. When he sees that Silis is on the ground unconscious he blinks over on full alert. As Celestia attempts to revive her son Hiei scans the area.
Hiei- Where did the attack come from?!
* Sarista glances up at Hiei as she begins to use her energy to heal Silis.
Sarista- This was no attack, M'Lord.
* Hiei looks down at the younger male. He now sees that he's not completely unconscious, but he is in obvious distress as he clutches his neck and groans.
Hiei- Then he's sick?
* Now Celestia glares up at Hiei.
Celestia- He's dying, you..!
* The Wolf hybrid catches herself in time and looks back down at her son. Sarista glances back up at Hiei.
Sarista- Even my.. abilities.. won't keep them alive.. much longer.. The younger ones are feeling the effects worse.
* When Hiei sees that Silis is clutching the right side of his neck it hits him. He'd been so busy training these boys that it's completely slipped his mind that he had to mark them as well. He quickly sheathes his katana and drops to his knees beside Silis.
Hiei- Everyone move back!
* Silis partially opens his eyes to look up at Hiei.
Silis- (Strained) M-Mas-ter,..
Hiei- Do you accept me? Silis?!
* Silis' eyes have rolled back in his head before he can answer. Sarista nudges Celestia out of her stupor.
Celestia- Oh! Master Hiei, as his mother I give you permission! Please..!
* Hiei looks at Celestia, then at Sarista. When the Alpha Female nods he looks back down at Silis.
Hiei- Hn. I claim him, then.
* Hiei lays the boy's head to the side and sees how irritated the area is around Gamock's mark. The Koorime positions his fangs carefully, sinks them into the mark, and quickly begins to feed his energy into Silis. When he feels the now-familiar connection that signals the completion of the ritual he pulls back. He watches the mark twist and reform into his own as Silis begins to squirm. Celestia collapses to sit beside her waking son relieved. Hiei stands and turns to look up at D'Garo who is standing nearby.
Hiei- You, bend down here.
* D'Garo obeys and sinks to his knees in front of Hiei. The apparition grasps both sides of his head.
Hiei- Mine.
* When D'Garo nods Hiei pulls him closer. As D'Garo's marking commences only Gamaru notices Troiyoku slip away. The younger brother remains quiet, though, understanding why he's left. When Hiei works away from D'Garo and helps him to sit fully he straightens up to look around. He notices that Troiyoku is gone and looks up at Gamaru, who is already marked.
Hiei- Where did..?
Gamaru- He doesn't want it to be like this.
* Hiei studies the larger boy a moment.
Hiei- Hn.
* They all watch Hiei continue to take his position on the Lookout cliff.
Sarista- Okay. Everyone inside. It's getting dark.
* Sarista herds the rest of the pack into the cave. She pauses at the entrance to look up toward Hiei.
(#) Sarista- He will come to you.
(#) Hiei- Hn.. I'll be ready.
(#) Sarista- Good night, Alpha.
* Sarista then goes inside. Hiei looks to watch the vines shuffle to hide the entrance, then settles back to rest against the hard dirt wall behind him. He opens his jagan behind the ward to aid in his watch.
