Hiei's Harem - Pt 11 - Asserting

Here's another long scene, but I couldn't see how I could break it up. A lot of dialog, but hopefully you'll find it interesting. Poor Hiei is encountering yet another dilema. Oh my, how much more can he take? I guess we'll just have to see.

Scene 22 --------- Later That Morning


* Habataro comes into the clearing as Hiei moves back away from the pyre he’d just ignited. Hab senses his Alpha’s repressed sadness and stops. He keeps his head bowed respectfully until Hiei turns and acknowledges him.


Hiei- Habataro.

Habataro- My condolences, Master.

Hiei- Accepted.. Why are you here?

Habataro- I felt your.. unease through the bond.. I just came to check on you.


* Hiei glances back toward the black fire.


Hiei- Gamaru.. I wasn’t able to..

Habataro- I’m sure you did all you could.


* Hiei nods.


Hiei- Are my new females settled in?

Habataro- Hai.

Hiei- Were they any trouble?

Habataro- Not at all, sir.. We’ll be adding a couple more bedrooms onto the hut. But that’ll be no biggie. The mare is a bit skiddish, but that's to be expected, of course.

Hiei- Hn.. I’ll come down to check on them later.


* Habataro nods, bows, and leaps away. Hiei looks back toward the blazing fire until he hears a weak squeak. He looks aside to watch Troiyoku trying to comfort the tiny baby he’s holding. With a slight growl he summons Sarista over.


Hiei- I have one question.. Why do I have to.. bond that one.. But not River? Isn’t she an Elemental?


* When Sarista hesitates to answer Hiei looks directly at her.


Sarista- I never said you didn’t have to bond River, also.


* The little girl looks up, but stays where she is. Hiei glances toward her.


Hiei- She seems to be.. healthy.

Sarista- River possesses a lot of inner strength.. She’s survived this long because she was always in contact with you.. But since you’ve been gone..


* Hiei recalls the dull look in River's eyes that he noticed when he first arrived. He turns his eyes back up to Sarista.


Hiei- And you never told me this because..?


* Sarista hesitates a moment at his cold tone.


Sarista- Y-you said you.. didn’t want to.. m-mark your children.


* When Hiei scowls Sarista takes a couple steps back. He recognizes her fear again and forces himself to calm down. He reaches a hand out to his mate.


Hiei- The anger is at myself, ‘Ris.. Not you.


* Sarista moves forward calmly into his embrace. He nuzzles against her neck.


Hiei- I hate it when all of you are afraid of me.. You should know, by now, that I’d never hurt any of you.. Without just cause, of course.


* Sarista tightens her arms around him and inhales his scent deeply. She relaxes when she feels their connection renewing. Hiei feels it, also, and moans at the pleasurable sensation.


Both- D--- I’ve missed you.


* Hiei can’t help but smirk and Sarista laughs. As they share a deep kiss the entire atmosphere of the pack lightens. Hiei draws back and goes over to the others.


Hiei- When I decided to do this.. Take this Ultimate Alpha position.. we all knew that it would keep me busy.

Lily- Hai.. Perhaps we forgot that.


* Hiei pulls the Kitsune to him.


Hiei- I’m being drawn to continue that endeavor, it seems, whether I like it or not.. But I don’t ever want it to separate us.


* Lily greets his hungry kiss as eagerly as she always would. He feels her tail tickling his back and pulls away with a quiet growl.


Hiei- I’ve missed you, too.. All of you.


* He looks around and his eyes fall on Celestia. He goes over to her and holds out his arms for the baby she’s holding.


Hiei- I don’t think I’ve met this one, yet.


* Celestia places her newborn son in his arms carefully.


Hiei- How old is he?


* The baby opens his eyes lazily and gives a growl to acknowledge who's holding him. His eyes are the same color as Celestia’s.


Celestia- He’ll be a week old tomorrow.


* Hiei concentrates on the baby a few moments.


Hiei- It’s good to finally meet you,.. Kekiami.


* Celestia raises a hand to her mouth and Hiei looks up at her.


Hiei- What?

Celestia- Th-that was my.. Father’s name.


* Hiei gives the baby back to her and watches her hug him lovingly.


Hiei- Are you familiar with a Wolf named.. Bellato?


* The Wolf hybrid looks at Hiei quickly and growls.


Celestia- You met him?

Hiei- Hn. He confronted me on the return journey.


* Celestia lowers her eyes.


Celestia- Good. I hope, then, that it means that he’s dead.


* She sits down to begin nursing Kekiami, keeping her face bowed from Hiei’s scrutiny.


Hiei- Cel,..

Celestia- He was my Father’s brother, but I’ll never call him my Uncle.. He got too full of himself, ambushed my Father, and killed him.. When he took over the pack he.. sold me off.. as well as all my other sisters.. I’ve heard since that he even killed my two remaining younger brothers.

Hiei- Then I’m pleased to tell you that he’s dead.. I appointed his oldest son, Barkolo, in charge of that pack.. So far they’ve conducted themselves honorably.

Celestia- I hope he don’t turn out like his father, then.

Hiei- I’ll know to stay aware now. Thank you.


* Celestia glances up at him. Hiei turns when he hears a sob. They find Silis leaning in the mouth of the cave staring toward the pyre.


Silis- Gam!


* Hiei beats the others over to intercept Silis when he starts to stumble toward the flames.


Silis- No!

Hiei- Boy, listen to me..

Silis- You.. let him go..

Hiei- Hn.. But it was his choice.. Do you hear me?


* Celestia reaches them and embraces her son.


Celestia- He was hurting too much, Silis.


* Silis turns his wet eyes toward Sarista.


Silis- Mis-tress,.. I..

Sarista- I know.. I’ll miss him, too.. Master Hiei didn’t want him to suffer and just.. waste away in such agony.


* Silis tries to squirm free from their embracing arms until Hiei growls up at him.


Hiei- Don’t make me have to make the same decision with you, Silis!


* Silis stops struggling and looks down at Hiei. The Koorime looks away toward the fire then turns away to leave.


Sarista- Hiei,..

Hiei- I need some time, Woman.. I don’t want to mark.. them.. with these feelings.. When I have them dealt with.. then I’ll do what I must.


* Hiei starts off until he hears a small voice behind him.


River- Daddy,.. don’t go ‘way no.. more.


* He turns when he hears River growl. Sarista is attempting to pick her up.


Hiei- I’m not leaving, River.


* She blurs over to embrace his waist, burying her face against him. Hiei sighs, bends, and gathers her into his arms. He looks at Sarista as River locks her arms around his neck. The Koorime is fully aware of the slight siphoning of his energy that he feels. But the real reason behind it is much clearer to him now.


Hiei- I’ll call for the boy when I’m ready.


* Sarista and Troiyoku nod. Hiei turns to continue on his way toward the Waterfall Meadow.


Hiei- Let’s go have a talk, daughter of mine.


* Sarista smiles briefly as she watches Hiei walk off up the path. She then glances back toward the dying flames a moment, then helps the others get Silis back inside the cave with his new babies. When Hiei reaches the meadow he scans it habitually, then sets River down.


Hiei- Go play for a while.. Daddy has to meditate.


* River giggles and hurries away to begin chasing a grasshopper demon that Hiei had deemed no threat. Hiei moves to the river’s bank and sits down to begin his meditation.
