Keiko’s Engagement Party

Yusuke brushed his teeth after he got out of the shower. It has been two hours since he had the dream of the childhood he wouldn’t ever remember again. He rinsed out his mouth and began to wash his face. Looking up into the mirror he glared. Damn that frickin’ dream! He was a pale as a ghost now. Rolling his eyes, Yusuke dried his face and walked out of the bathroom. Just great, he thought, he looked like Casper. Walking into his room, he sighed as he thought about happened in the last few years.

It has been about three years since Yusuke defeated Sensui. It was after that incident that he decided to live on his own. Atsuko had agreed to it since Yusuke actually was able to finish high school without too much problems, which was an amazing feat in itself. So they had gotten Yusuke a small westernized home on the edge of town. It was a two-story home with two beds rooms and a den. It held a full kitchen and a large living room. The yard Yusuke had a large tree and tended to by a friend of his. There was large bay window that overlooked the yard and one that faced his street. No one but Atsuko and Kuwabara knew where he lived, not even Koenma, and the only reason Kuwabara knew was being the idiot stalked him home from Atsuko’s one day.

Yusuke was content with his new life. His mother had found out about Keiko dumping him sometime after the Sensui incident. It was about that time Yusuke explained everything to his mother. It was also when Atsuko helped him move into his own place, telling him that it might help him cope to be away from everything. It was pure luck that she had hit the lottery while they were house shopping and got him his place.

After coming out of his thoughts, Yusuke walked downstairs and stared outside through the sliding glass down at the horizon beyond his yard. A forest and mountain-scape painted his view every day, one that helped Yusuke relax his tension. The day was day with clouds, the sun barely got through. Heading to the kitchen, he started to make his daily cup of coffee. Once finished he began to drink it while gathering his things. Yawning, Yusuke grumbled about how it was too early for work. Not his Spirit Detective job, a human job. When Yusuke moved out he moved out of his job too. Disappearing off the grid so none of his friends could find him. Not like he was getting much work from Koenma after Keiko explained that he was not ‘mental there’ for the missions. And it wasn’t like Yusuke was going to let his mom pay all of his bills for him, so he had to do something. Putting his coffee cup in the sink, he walked to the coffee table in the living room where he put all his things.

Slipping on the brown leather shoulder holster over his white t-shirt, he quickly tightened it to his likening. Picking up the Jericho, Yusuke checked to make sure the safety was on before holstering it, and then did the same to the Glock he had. He grabbed a green button up shirt and shrugged it on and buttoned two of its buttons to hide the guns. Yusuke moved to the door and grabbed his wallet from the side table along with his keys as he made his way out of his home locking it behind him.

He moved to the blue and black Yamaha motorcycle in his small driveway. He took his helmet off the seat and slipped it on. The helmet was black with a blue and green lightening from the visor to the back of the helmet. He sat on the motorcycle and started the engine. Revving it a bit, enjoying the sound of the purring motor, he kicked the stand up and steered the bike one handed as he took off toward the center of the city.

Yusuke ran his hand through his hair as he looked up at the precinct. This is where he worked now, in an actually police station. Though he wasn’t really a cop, more like a retainer for the force, they even gave him a desk. He shifted his helmet and moved inside of the building. Yusuke liked his job because it allowed him to do what he wanted for the most part and he was cool with that. He waved at the passing guards and pushed through a pair of double doors that led to everyone’s desks. Yusuke blinked as he noticed most of the officers surrounding his desk. He heard awing from the females and chuckling from the males. Sighing, he approached them. “Alright, alright...what’s the big idea?” They instantly parted when they heard Yusuke’s voice. His jaw dropped when he looked at the person sitting at his desk. “KEIKO!?” He shouted dropping his helmet.

Keiko smiled up at him with Puu in her arms. “Hello Yusuke…” She said. Yusuke scratched his head not knowing what to do in this situation. “I never thought you’d be a cop.”

“You know me full of surprises.” Yusuke said cutting off anyone who wanted to say differently. The straggling cops seemed to understand the fact Yusuke was hiding things and wandered off. “What are you doing here?” He asked only to jerk when Puu was thrust in his face. Yusuke took him blinking at her.

“I came to give him back. It took a while to find you, but Kuwabara kind of slipped when I was badgering him.” She chuckled before standing and moving away from my desk. “Also…I want to come to my engagement party.” Yusuke choked and dropped Puu onto the desk.

“En-engagement party?” She nodded smiling sadly at him.

“Please come. Everyone is going to be there: Genkai, Shizuru, Yukina, Botan, Kuwabara, Kurama and even Hiei!” Yusuke looked into her eyes. They were pleading for him to go, begging him. He mentally scolded himself for being soft when it came to Keiko and nodded silently. She smiled and was about to hug him, but stopped. She patted his arm instead and walked out.

Yusuke sighed and plopped down into his chair. Puu waddle over to him and flapped his ears.

“Wow Urameshi…it moved like the real deal.” A female officer said as she picked up his helmet from the ground and placed it on his desk beside Puu. The small blue creature turned to look at himself in the visor of the helmet. “That’s cute…” She said. The female officer was a petite woman who was 5’5’’ tall, but despite her short stature she had strength. Her dark brown eyes shined with amusement as she flipped her light brown hair over her shoulder. She was Yusuke’s partner and her name was Lin Chong, a Chinese transfer cop. She was a martial arts expert and knew how to handle her twin Desert Eagles that she possessed. “So is it an animal or a robot?” She asked as she poked Puu.

“Both?” Yusuke replied in question. “I found it a long time ago and gave it to her as a present. Guess I forgot the return address.” Lin laughed and picked Puu up. “Want to take care of him?”

“Sure!” She smiled and hugged the blue fuzz ball. “So you really are going to the Engagement party?”

“I said yes…” Yusuke replied leaning back on the chair as he glared at his desk. “And that means I have to go.”

“Want an escort?” Lin asked causing Yusuke to look up at her with a raised eyebrow. She had the invite in her hand. “It says plus one…I can be your plus one!”

Yusuke tilted his head to the side. “You just want the free food.” Lin grinned. “So when is it?” He knew that when he went everyone will try to pry into his new life. Something that he will have to divert, maybe he could get Lin to agree to get some food and high tail it out of there.

“Tomorrow night,” She answered putting the invite down.

“Oh figures they’d find me the day before the actual event. That’s just great.” Yusuke grumbled. He looked at Lin and reeled back at her evil grin. “What…”

“This means I have to get a new outfit!” Lin smirked. “And you are coming with me so I can get you an outfit too!”

Yusuke pushed his chair back a bit as she leaned closer. “As long as you are buying your own shit fine…”

“Oh this will be fun.” She commented.

Oh yea, big fun…

----------------------

The next night Yusuke arrived at the building on Keiko’s invitation. It was in a bad area so Yusuke had brought his Glock. Thankfully, he didn’t need to pick up Lin because she was bringing her mustang. Yusuke pulled off his helmet and sat on his bike for a bit. Did he really want to go in there? He put the helmet down in front of him and leaned forward on it. Yusuke didn’t want to see the man Keiko dumped him for. Unfortunately, Lin pulled up in her mustang. Yusuke sighed and got up off the bike and headed toward the Chinese woman. She got out of her car and leaned back against the door with a smirk.

“Spiffy,” Yusuke said looking at her dress. It was a dark blue halter top dress with an embroidered bodice and it flared a bit at her knees. He held his hand out. “Let’s get this over with.”

“Don’t be so rude Yusuke,” Lin smiled at him. She looked him up and down taking in his black blazer, green shirt, and slacks. “Enjoy the party…once we get inside of course!” She said with enthusiasm. Yusuke shook his head and pulled Lin to his side as he led her inside. Within the building, the décor was white and peach. That was so much like Keiko, Yusuke mused. Lin leaned toward Yusuke with a frown. “Why do I feel like I’m being watched?”

“Because we are…” Yusuke replied nodding to the people in front of them. Lin blushed when she saw everyone looking at her.

“Urameshi! You came!” Kuwabara said as he bounced over to them. Lin released Yusuke’s arm as Kuwabara punched him in the shoulder. Yusuke shifted to keep his gun hidden as the taller man jostled him around. “So Keiko found you!”

“Well I think it was obvious after someone told her…” Yusuke replied glaring playfully at Kuwabara. “So what’s going on?” Kuwabara shook his head and tilted it back toward the rest of the gang. Yusuke grinned and raised a hand to them. “Yo!”

Kurama and Hiei blinked in surprise at Yusuke’s appearance. They never expected the former detective to appear at Keiko’s engagement part. Kurama raised an eyebrow as the woman Yusuke walked in with made her way to him as he greeted Genkai and the girls.

“Yusuke…it is good to see you again. Is this your new girlfriend?” Shizuru asked teasingly. The former detective smirked and put his arm around Lin’s waist.

“Well Lin, it seems they found us out. What should we do now?” Yusuke said as he leaned in as though he was going to kiss her. Lin turned red from embarrassment and started to swat at Yusuke.

“YUSUKE! YOU JERK!” She screamed as she bashed on his right arm. Everyone chuckled as he back pedaled and danced away from her.

Kurama stepped up to Yusuke. “How about some introductions Yusuke?”

“Alright, alright…this is Lin Chong. She’s a…business partner,” Yusuke replied trying to find the right words. Lin discreetly shot him a confused look, which was replied back with a small shake of his head. She sighed then smiled, playing along.

“I am posing as Yusuke’s escort for this evening’s events.” Lin said with elegant wave of her hand. Yusuke mentally thanked her as Kurama smiled at her.

“Then allow me to show you around,” The fox said taking Lin from Yusuke and led her away. Hiei soon followed after giving a peculiar glare at Yusuke. The girls followed wanting to get to know Lin better, Kuwabara chasing after Yukina per always.

Yusuke looked down at Genkai, who looked up at him. “Follow me dimwit…” He blinked and followed her, waving at the people that he knew. Once away from the crowd, Genkai turned to him. “What’s with carrying a gun into a party like this Yusuke?” Yusuke blinked in surprised, she spotted his guns. Must have been when Kuwabara was pushing him around. Yusuke shrugged.

“Didn’t Keiko tell anyone? I’m with the cops now.” He replied nonchalantly. Genkai stared at him before smiling slightly.

“Good to see you doing something with you life. So where else did you disappear to after Sensui?” She asked. Yusuke smirked and winked at her.

“Well grandma, that’s my secret.” Yusuke said just before Lin found them. She jumped onto his arm.

“Aw, Yusuke did you suddenly get interested in older women?” She asked with a grin. “Does that mean I’m out an escort?”

“Don’t worry young lady,” Genkai said. “He’s too dimwitted for me.”

“Hey!”

“Right, come on then! It’s starting!” Lin said as she tugged Yusuke toward the tables. Genkai followed them shaking her head. Lin sat them near the back of the tables as Yusuke scrutinized the main table where Keiko and her fiancée and their families sat. Yusuke stopped dead in his tracks, frozen in shock and fear. A vision of his former step-father grinning at him overlapped Keiko’s fiancée. Yusuke shook his head and pounded the heel of his palm to his head lightly.

“Stupid, stupid…he’s dead.”

“--suke…Yusuke…Yusuke what’s wrong?” Lin called in a concerned voice. As the vision faded, Yusuke could still hear the laughter in his head. He turned to his partner and stared at her. “Are you alright?”

“Yeah, just a little déjà vu. Let’s get seated and eat some grub okay?” Forcing a smile, Yusuke led Lin to an empty table. As they sat down, he noticed that Kurama was glancing his way before whispering something to Hiei. Genkai was with Shizuru, Yukina, and Kuwabara with them at a table closer to Keiko’s side of the table. Shizuru was staring at Yusuke passively. He raised an eyebrow and she turned her head to the main table. The young man looked up as everyone got silent when Keiko stood.

“I just wanted to thank all my friends and family for coming and encouraging me with my engagement. I must also thank my fiancée, Jairi, for allowing me to do this. Please enjoy the food, drinks and music! Thank you.” She sat back down and smiled lovingly at her fiancée. Yusuke watched as the food was handed out as well as drinks. He didn’t eat much and settled for giving most of it to Lin. She had a fast metabolism to eat that stuff. Yusuke stayed with the drinks and watched as everyone began to dance when the music played. Lin excused herself to mingle as Yusuke’s former friends came over and sat down with him.

“Hey guys…” Yusuke raised his glass to them and took a sip. Kuwabara and Kurama shook their heads while Hiei glared on.

“Very suave detective,” Hiei stated. “Getting to see you drunk after so many years is going to be amusing.”

The former detective raised an eyebrow. “I grew up with an alcoholic mother Hiei, do you really think I didn’t build up a tolerance?” He tipped his glass toward the short demon. “I can even out drink Chu…”

“So Yusuke, where have you been? Your mother won’t tell us where you’ve gone.” Kurama said questionably.

“I’ve been around…” Yusuke glanced at Kuwabara. He was quite surprised he didn’t blab to Kurama and Hiei, he obviously blabbed to Keiko. Yusuke didn’t want to talk about it anymore, but Kurama didn’t seem to like his answer.

“For three years Yusuke?” He raised an eyebrow. The black haired young man looked at him and shrugged. Hiei stared at him with his cold eyes. Yusuke put his drink down and looked at all of them.

“I don’t think my life is any of your business anymore Kurama.” He replied with a bit of a glare. Crossing his arms, he leaned back a bit. “Do you guys even this Jairi?” He asked with no emotion. This caused Kuwabara’s eyes to widen. He never heard Yusuke talk in such an emotionless tone.

“Why do you ask Urameshi?” He inquired.

Yusuke turned his head away not talking for a while. He stood up not looking at the three men before him. “He stirs up some bad feelings.” He answered grinding his teeth a bit. Keiko was marrying someone that they had no idea about. Great…Yusuke thought. No wonder he had bad feelings. So much for protecting his best friend, “Excuse me…” Yusuke murmured as he walked away from the table wanting to be alone for a bit.

A few hours later, the part was in full swing and only now people where getting drunk. Yusuke was glad he grew up with Atsuko or else he might be like the floundering drunks that were walking around him. What can he say, alcohol is in his blood. He looked over at Shizuru to see her in about the same state as him. He really had to have a drinking contest with her one day. It would be interesting who would win. Glancing around, he saw Kurama and Hiei avoiding the stuff while Lin was enjoying herself greatly. Yusuke snorted at that and wandered over to Lin.

“Oh look who’s here! It’s Yusuke!” Lin smirked and leaned on Yusuke. Moving so her mouth was by his ear she grinned. “Your ex is getting jealous…” She sang before moving away and kissing his cheek.

The man glared at before turning to look at Keiko. The brunette quickly turned her gaze away and focused on what Yukina was talking to her about. Yusuke grinned and gently touched Lin’s hand and motioned to the main table. She nodded understandingly as Yusuke began to move away.

As Yusuke headed to the table the hairs on the back of his neck began to stand up causing him to slow his pace. Then everything around him erupted into action, he knew he was glad he brought one of his guns with him.

Men wearing dark clothing stormed into the place and locked everyone into. Keiko was in the arms of fiancée with the families were huddled together. Somehow Lin made her way beside Yusuke during the commotion. She looked at Yusuke and tilted her head toward the group that was heading toward the main table. Kuwabara was held back by Shizuru as he tried to get to Keiko before the men did. Hiei was crouched down near Yukina and Genkai while Kurama stayed near Botan. Yusuke quickly counted thirteen men. He glanced at Lin.

“What do you want to do?” She questioned as the men drew closer.

“Do I ever have a plan?” Yusuke whispered back with a glare. “I make things up as I go, you know that.”

Lin glared back. “Now is not the time to be a smartass!”

Yusuke’s eyes darted around the room quickly before taking a steak knife and handed it to Lin. “Get some space between you and me.”

“You owe me a new dress.” Lin said as she used the knife to put a slit in her dress.

“Whatever, just go.” The former detective pushed her watching her as she weaved through the crowd swiftly and unnoticed. Turning back to the main table, Yusuke narrowed his eyes. “Now my turn…” Just as he started to stand, he felt the muzzle of a gun being pointed at his head. “There goes that plan.” He murmured.

“Up! Now!” The man said. Yusuke slowly stood to his full height, looking at the blank peach color of the far wall. It really was a Keiko color. This was great, Yusuke thought. Now he can’t do anything. He glanced at Keiko to see Jairi holding her down. “Hands behind your head!” The man said. Yusuke glared at the man and slowly raised his hands up. This pulled his shirt tight across his chest, hinting at his gun. The man cocked back the hammer of the gun. “Check him!”

Another man came to Yusuke and patted him down. He ripped open Yusuke dress shirt letting the button fly as he pulled out the Glock. “One weapon.”

“Would you give that back? It’s was a gift.” The former detective said conversationally.

“Shut up!” The leader said from the main stage. “You’re a pig aren’t you?”

“Well no, I’m human.” Yusuke said smugly. “You can be the pigs.”

With a nod from the leader, the man closest to Yusuke used the butt of his semi-automatic sub-machine gun to hit Yusuke on the side of his head.

A round of shouts echoed the hall as Yusuke stumbled to the side before standing tall again. The men laughed and the one that took Yusuke’s gun pointed it at him.

“I would get that out of my face before you piss me off more than you already did.” He growled, his brown eyes were alighted with golden specks.

“Oh what are you going to do about it?” The man said.

Suddenly the lights flickered and suddenly Yusuke wasn’t standing in front of the men anymore. They froze when they heard the sound of metal snapping open and spun to see Yusuke by the main table, his own gun in his hand while he lit a cigarette with the other. “Move an inch and I’ll shoot you.” He took a deep drag as he looked down at Keiko, not even looking at the men. “You okay?”

“Y-Yea…” She murmured.

“Good,” Yusuke replied before raising his arm, not looking where he was aiming and letting the bullet fly. The man that patted him down screamed in agony as his fell down clutch his shin. “Didn’t I say don’t move?”

“Fuck this, we can take him! He’s out numbered!” The leader said he was about to move, only to have Yusuke swing around and aim at him. “Come now boy…” The leader said slowly walking from the main table toward his men. “Do you really think you will be able to shoot all of us?”

“Obviously you’ve never heard of me,” Yusuke said vehemently. “Or else you would have left as soon as you saw me.”

The leader snorted. “The name is Walter, what’s yours?” The former Spirit detective stayed silent. “Come now, I’m being civil.”

“Urameshi, Yusuke Urameshi.” He replied noticing how all the men looked like they’ve just seen a ghost, but Yusuke kept his eyes on the leader. He was the only one grinning.

“The famed Gunner,” Walter said. “How is your other title treating you?”

“Say another word…” Yusuke threatened raising his gun a bit. “If you know about that then you know I have no problem killing you right here and now.”

“In front of all your friends and family?” The leader asked and chuckled. “Please, even I know you wouldn’t lower yourself to that.”

Yusuke cocked back the hammer of his gun. “You know nothing about me or what I would do.”

“I know about that accident, I also know…” Walter suddenly jerked Shizuru up by her hair. Yusuke stepped forward. “Uh-uh…” Shizuru was being used as his body shield while holding his revolver to her head. “No shooting me…”

“Fine,” Yusuke said as he swiftly shot all the other men around him. He quickly counted eight men down that he took out, none dead, just unable to work their guns. Aiming back at Walter he slowly moved away from the main table toward him as he moved back through the crowd.

“Stop…” Walter commanded. Yusuke stopped where he was; Kurama and Hiei crouched beside him.

“Yusuke…” Kurama murmured.

“Don’t…” Yusuke whispered. “He’s a hair line from firing, not even Hiei would be able to save her.”

Kurama touched Yusuke’s leg in understanding. Hiei growled and did the same.

“I don’t like this…” The speed demon murmured as Yusuke stared at Walter.

“Hands off buddy,” Shizuru said, struggling a bit as Walter leaned down to lick her shoulder. Yusuke twitched as he grinned and nodded to something.

A scream filled the air and Yusuke spun around, snatching a steak knife off the table as he kept his gun on Walter. One of Walter’s lackeys held Keiko.

“No…” Yusuke murmured as Kurama grabbed his pant leg to keep Yusuke still.

“So who will it be Urameshi?” The detective turned back to Walter. “Which woman will you protect?”

Looking back at Keiko, he saw that she was crying while looking at Jairi. Growling Yusuke closed his eyes to think. He could feel Kurama’s spirit energy manipulate the flowers near the men and sighed. It won’t be fast enough.

Dropping both arms, Yusuke dropped the gun but stealthily slid the knife into his sleeve. “How about a deal?” He opened his eyes and tilted his head back to look at the ceiling as he contemplated his plan.

“Deal hm?” Walter asked. “What could you have that I want?”

“Well, I’m still alive ain’t I?” Yusuke said turning his head to look at Walter. “And you know me…I’ll hunt you down. So how about a trade? The fame and glory of murdering the famous Urameshi for the two women.”

“Yusuke!” Genkai hissed as she held onto Yukina. “Dimwit, don’t be stupid!”

“What about it?” Yusuke questioned turning to face Walter and Shizuru. He moved his eyes to Shizuru, and quickly glanced to the side hoping she’d get the idea. She lifted her leg a bit in acknowledgement. “Time limit on this offer Walter.”

“How about both?” The leader nodded to the person who had Keiko. A loud crack exploded through the room as Yusuke stumbled forward. “Still up I—”

Yusuke lifted his arm, Shizuru yanking herself to the side out of Walter’s hands. He flicked his wrist sending the hidden steak knife into Walter’s chest. Yusuke smirked, but it was quickly erased when he felt something great slam into his back. Darkness started to take his vision as he felt himself falling forward. What happened? He questioned as the ground raced up to meet him. He didn’t hear the screams of his friends, nor did he feel the two pairs of hands that caught him before he slammed into the ground. All he remembered was the pain his in shoulder blades.

----------------------

He jerked awake painfully. He was on his back looking at the ceiling. Yusuke tilted his head as he raised his hand and clenched it in front of his eyes. He wiggled his toes and shifted his legs and hips. Moving a bit more he realized that nothing was broken or wounded, just sore and bruised.

“Yusuke!” A voice called as the young man sat up in a daze. A body collided with his body and held on tightly as Yusuke looked around.

Genkai’s un-ushered tears slowly evaporated, Yukina and Botan were smiling with tear streaks on their cheeks, Kuwabara was gapping at him and Shizuru was grinning like a fool. Beside him, Kurama and Hiei sat with somber expressions staring intently at Yusuke. Looking down, he saw Keiko hugging him tightly with tears in her eyes. He blinked and put a hand on her head.

“Hey…hey,” He cooed to his best friend. “What happened?”

“My god Yusuke, you’re an idiot. You got shot….twice!” Lin said causing Yusuke to blink. “Don’t worry though, I saved you.”

“Yea...” Yusuke rotated his shoulders a bit. “Could you have stepped in a bit earlier? Like before Keiko was grabbed?”

“Making sure I had a clean shot.” Lin shrugged.

Not commenting on how if Yusuke had a clean shot, then she should have, he changed the subject. “Where the hell did you get a gun from?”

“Never underestimate a woman or a proper bra.” She winked and slipped the .44 back into her dress between her breasts. Yusuke nodded and leaned back on one of his hands.

“Well, that was exciting.” He said. Hiei snorted.

“You took a large risk Yusuke,” Kurama said as he helped Yusuke stand with Keiko clinging to him. “Too large…”

“All the more fun right Lin?”

“Gun fights, ripped expensive dresses…yea real fun Yusuke.” The Chinese woman snarked with an eye roll.

He shrugged it off and pulled a bracelet from his pocket not letting anyone see it in his hand. It was a white gold bracelet with emeralds and sapphires dangling from it at every other link. Opening Keiko’s palm, he dropped it in it. Closing her palm he kissed her forehead and stepped away from her. “What an exciting engagement party!” Yusuke said trying to lighten the mood as he looked at all his friends. “But I think I’ll skip whoever has the next one.” He glanced at Lin, who was finishing tying up all the bad guys. Catching his eyes, she smiled.

“Time to go and do paper work! Let’s go you lazy bum!” Lin emphasized work and grabbed my fallen gun before heading out. Yusuke rolled his eyes at her and followed, smiling as he heard a gasp as the door closed behind him.

“Talk about parties…” Lin said as she got into her mustang. “Does everything explode around you in a haze of bullets?”

“No,” Yusuke said as he straddled his motorcycle, his hands on his helmet. “Sometimes it explodes in a haze of white….and maybe some stars.” Lin laughed and started her car.

“Well, I had someone call the cops for those guys already. They should be here soon. We should lay low for the rest of the night.” She explained.

He turned to her and raised an eyebrow. “When do I lay low?”

Lin sighed exasperatedly. “Then stay out of sight at least.”

“Gotcha,” I remarked and leaned down to put my helmet on.

“Yusuke!” Both of us looked turned to see Kurama standing a few feet from our vehicles. Yusuke glanced at Lin.

“Go on without me, I’ll see you tomorrow at work.” She nodded and backed up. She drove between Kurama and Yusuke then drove off, speeding into the night.

The red-headed fox walked to Yusuke’s motorcycle and stared at the young man.

“Can I help you Kurama?” Yusuke asked patiently.

“I want answers.” He said. “I want to know why you left us, why are you avoiding us?” Kurama asked calmly. Yusuke couldn’t look at Kurama as he held out his helmet to the fox.

“Get on,” Yusuke said as the man put it on. He felt Kurama straddle the machinery behind him as he started it. Revving the engine, Yusuke slowly back up before turning toward the street. The red head wrapped his arms around Yusuke, his arms rubbing against Yusuke’s holster a bit. It was empty. Lin had taken his gun. There was no more shooting for the rest of the night. As they pulled out, Yusuke glanced back at the building to see Jairi there holding Keiko in his arms. The man mouthed a thank you to Yusuke as he turned away.

“Yusuke?” Kurama asked. “Where we going?”

“I got to go see my mom.” Yusuke answered as he sped down the street. On the way out, they past the cop cars and ambulance that rode in to arrest the men who attacked the party. Kurama tightened his grip on Yusuke’s waist as they headed out to Atsuko’s apartment.

What a crazy night…

Hey guys, just a little note. If you find any pronouns such as (i, me) where it should be he or she. Tell me. It's kinda of difficult to transfer this to third person while staring at the first person version.

Also. Amane I am going to be only putting the new version on AFF until I reach the last chapter I updated. Then I will switch the other versions over. So then when I put chapter 21 up they will all be third person. If that makes any sense.
