CHAPTER2______________________________________
He quickly ruffled through the silk sheets of the bed. Once his feet found the floor, Kurama's eyes had found him. He sensed the fox staring at his back and wondered for a moment whether or not he should stay. He was still sitting on the bed, body unmoving, as if it were completely out of his control.
"Are you leaving?"
He blinked, should he really look back? He didn’t really know what his answer was. All he knew was that he needed to move. This air here made him feel unsteady, the atmosphere choking him and would not loosen its grip. He turned his head to meet blazing green eyes still staring at him. He let out a sigh, "Do you not want me to leave?"
It wasn't asking if his friend wanted him to stay, it was asking if he wanted to leave. The two questions were completely different. They produced completely different answers. The silence waved and squirmed between the two. The night breeze blew into the room, providing relaxation to an otherwise tense room.
"It is your choice." He looked out the window his eyes softened. Kurama had never seen such cold a night during the winter. Hiei had already turned his back at Kurama again. He walked up behind the smaller demon and wrapped his arms around him. He felt Hiei's chest expand and compress under his embrace. He took in the scent of the exotic demon. The curve of each muscle was defined in the moonlight as he ran his fingers along the lengths of the still demon's arms. Another gust of wind made it way into the room, painting goose bumps along the once smooth skin. Hiei grew increasingly uncomfortable; there was just something he could not shake off. He wanted these hands off of him, completely off. No more soft caresses, no more.
"I think I need a shower."
With that he left the fox alone in the room. The water was cold against his skin as it ran down his body. It cooled him and seemed to numb yet refresh his senses. He started to rub his skin; he needed to wash it off. The rubbing became frantic, he felt so lost and dirty.
'Hiei...'
A silent scream escaped his mouth as his legs gave way. He found himself on the floor of the tub, the water still running down from the showerhead. He couldn't move, he had no will to. He just stayed there, staring up as the water rained down on him. The small drops turned to waves as he fought so hard to stay afloat. His mind was going to collapse. He wanted that much needed breathe he desired. It was like he had inhaled a toxin and it coursed through his body with no mercy, his heart beating a deep tattoo against his bosom.
"Hiei, are you okay?"
He was brought out of his trance by the concerned voice at the door. He sat up, unsure whether to answer or not. His companion at the door began to knock louder.
“I’m fine.”
Kurama paused at the door, unsure of whether or not his friend was lying. After a few moments, footsteps were heard as he walked away. Hiei decided he might as well get out of the shower. The water was beginning to lose its numbing effect anyway. Drips echoed through the bathroom as he wrapped himself in the towel. He saw his reflection in the mirror, noticing dark circles that consumed the bottom of his eyes. His eyes seemed like voids, just spheres floating in midair. The showed no emotion. Of course they didn't - he didn't want them to. He didn't want to hurt anymore. When Hiei opened the door, he was greeted by a very curious looking fox, holding out a pair of silk pajama pants.
"I put your clothes in the wash."
He stared down at the gesture. He never completely understood why Kurama did so many things for him. The silk brushed against his skin as he put it on, removing the towel. There was no need to be shy, he had nothing Kurama hadn't seen beforehand. However, it seemed his assumption was wrong. Kurama grabbed his wrist, revealing a bruise mark on his arm.
There was a long silence between the two. Kurama just stared at the mark, Hiei avoiding his eye contact. He wanted answers. Now.
"Is.. is this from him?"
"It's nothing Kurama..."
“Hiei…”
“Stop.”
“Hiei…”
He scowled as the fox said his name over and over. He didn’t want to hear it, didn’t want to hear that dirty and disgraceful word. There was still no eye contact. Kurama’s normal cool facade changed as his face showed hints of anger. There was nothing exactly to be angry about, but he felt a need to be informed.
"So he did this."
Hiei could not help but roll his eyes. "Yes, he did."
"You let him?"
"YES, Kurama."
Kurama's body stiffened at the Koorime's responses. Something in him boiled, threatening to take over him. What had surprised him more was that he had not noticed earlier that night.
“I didn’t see them before.”
“Don’t you remember you were busy doing other things?”
The reply had an opposite effect than desired, as Kurama was reminded of other things.
"Maybe...", Kurama stepped closer to the Koorime, "we can continue our fun... Hiei…"
The Koorime muscles tensed even more at the request. At that moment he wanted nothing more than to move from the boy. But he did not move, not even an inch. Instead, he firmly replied, "No." The hand was still on his wrist, revealing his shame to all. Kurama lifted his chin slightly, a soft call of Hiei’s name closed a kiss. The Koorime pushed the his partner away.
"Don't do this again."
"I do not consider myself repetitive Kurama." He shook off the restraining hand. "I don't want to become everyone's sex toy."
Kurama did not take the rejection very lightly.
“You are already, seeing as how you even let Yusuke dominate you.”
