Disclaimer:
I do not own YuYu Hakusho, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
The Forbidden Child
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters, or story, of Yuu-Yuu Hakusho. It belongs to the wondrous Yoshihiro Togashi-sama who has brought something to my life that I love. So, don't sue me on that half. I do, however, claim a few of these characters in this story. Baku, Shinai, Ari, and the rest of the random people not seen in the Yuu-Yuu Hakusho Manga and/or Anime are mine. So, I'd rather you not steal them from me...and if you do, I'll have Shinai go after you. You wouldn't like that...Shinai is scary...
Author's Notes: The first real chapter of ‘Forbidden Soul’! I wrote this one first, and got about twelve chapters done before I realized that I should have an actual prologue to this story. And I like the prologue as well. Oh... ::Laughs:: I let a friend of mine at school read this chapter and he told me to call it: ‘The Whipping Boy’. Very amusing...it would have been too humourous, though. ^^; Shinai makes his grand entry (You call that grand?) and let the hating begin! ::Laughs again:: I made Shinai and realized that he’s kinda like Karasu...I don’t like Shinai, though. He scares me sometimes...if you are interested in having this fanfiction on your site, please don’t steal it. Send me an E-mail and I’ll send you my word in three days tops. I check me E-mail everyday.
Warnings: A small bit of lime here with Shinai...this is nothing compared to chapter five. Hiei does get tortured, kinda, in this chapter. So, I guess it’ll be PG-13...nothing too big.
Dedication: I dedicate this story of Hiei's past, told in my perspective, to my friend, Sunny. She is a great author, a hell of a lot better than me, who has an awesome 'Gravitation' story on fanfiction.net. Read it. Read it now...it’s called ‘Disillusionment’...
Before I go on...please, PLEASE ‘read and review’. I noticed that I’ve only gotten four lucky reviews while about 70+ people have read my fic. This is a bit disappointing to an author when then can be getting feedback...so please...? Don’t make me threaten you all by saying I won’t post anymore of it...that would be mean of me...
‘Forbidden Soul: Chapter 1: The Forbidden Child’
The demon looked up from the wooden floor to see his master with a katana pointed down at him. The younger’s lip had been split and now blood slipped down, creating a red stream on his ivory face that dripped off onto the floor.
He was too weak to fight this man any longer. The rogue of a man was hovering above him; the blade pointed down toward the quivering form that looked so young. A few snickers could be heard from the wall nearest them as the man’s booming voice rang out.
“Is little Hiei too weak to fight anymore…?” The small youkai with the name of Hiei glanced up; tears welled up in his shimmering crimson hues that glinted off of the lighting in the arena. He felt all of the pain that he was given by his own master, Baku. The older raised his sword and the smaller demon recoiled from the threateningly stance, waiting for himself to be struck.
Baku thrust his katana into the wooden floor, a few splinters of wood chipped off. “Cry, cry! That’s all your ever going to amount to, Hiei! A little, weak, pitiful demon that can’t defend himself but is only used for his tears!” He ripped the blade out of the floor and pointed it at the cowering demon.
This angered the poor fire demon to a large extent, making fury and rage apparent in his eyes. The small youkai growled and launched himself at his master, holding up his own katana that he wielded weakly in his burned, wrapped up right hand. He knew it wouldn’t be enough, but he could at least try to do this…try to save himself from such humiliation and torture.
“Your too weak to attack me. It makes you slow when you’re tired.” The older male raised his blade and lashed out at Hiei, striking him in the side. The smaller boy’s eyes widened; his crimson hues dark as he fell again to the floor. Hiei coughed, and blood splattered across the wooden floor. He heard laugher in his sensitive youkai ears, and with all his might, the boy tried to push himself up to look at Baku.
The fallen child gazed up with darkened ruby orbs to his master, a whip in the older demon’s hands. One of the four men who stood in the room had taken the katana and given the older the whip. It was made of fine, hard leather, and a youkai spell was put upon it that broke flesh upon impact. They had always used this on him…when they were going to decide to leave him here for the night…
“Lift him up…” There was his master’s voice again. Hiei didn’t want this. Power was something that every youkai wished to have. Whether to use it for themselves or to protect others, it was something that every one of them needed. Something that most of the demons in this world misused. Hiei slowly let his head rest on the floor, a sigh escaping the young boy’s lips.
The other three men that were near the door of the sparring grounds went toward Hiei, chuckling as they did. Two of them lifted up Hiei’s arms and tied his already raw wrists with a rough rope as tightly as they could. The other grabbed a type of pulley that was attached to the ceiling, bringing it down to Hiei and the two men. One of them teasingly touched the part of Hiei’s chest that was showing; a sneer answered this type of touch.
With a raised eyebrow, the man who touched Hiei gave him a small, flirtatious wink. The smaller demon wanted to spit at him for doing that at this time, a few of the other demon’s laughing at this little display. The other men lifted Hiei up and strung the rope into the hook, quite easily. The youkai that winked at Hiei leaned forward and gave the younger boy a kiss on his cheek, making the spiky-haired boy look away quickly.
And as they did this, Hiei was able to calculate the real damage that his master had done. Each time he inhaled a shuddering breath, it hurt him. It felt as if one of his ribs was broken and it had stuck itself into his lungs. That was what hurt him the most, other than the pain in his left leg. Earlier, his master had hit him there and continued to during the course of the ‘training.’
Now, they slowly lifted the restrained youkai towards the ceiling and tied the rope to another hook attached to the wall. The black-haired boy hung limply from the ceiling, eyes closed. He didn’t care what they did to him, as long as they would just leave him alone afterwards and didn’t get any more ideas. This time, though, he wouldn’t shed his tears. He wouldn’t let them get the satisfaction that they were doing a great amount of damage to him.
“You better scream real loud this time, lil’ boy!” One of the men yelled to him and Hiei knew that it was Sage’s voice. “Fuck you too…” Hiei didn’t open his ruby hues and knew that he’d have Sage beating him if he spoke that out. Then the man that winked and touched him spoke out, this man’s name being Shinai. “Baku’s been real into that fire torture lately…I want to try it next!” The older demon seemed to have a pleading tone as he said this. Hiei shuddered when he heard Baku crack the whip over towards the chattering youkai.
“I hurt him like that yesterday…I won’t let anyone use it on him until he’s been allowed recovery for at least one day…” Baku sounded mildly concerned when he spoke this and Hiei gave a light chuckle, holding back some blood that he wanted to spit out. Baku had used the fire torture on him yesterday, and it was very painful. Scorching his whole right arm, the boy wrapped a huge bandage on his arm to conceal it.
Another crack of the master’s whip could be heard before Hiei was able to control his anger. He had gotten used to the regular whippings and needed to make his screams sound real. The only way he could do that, though, is if he found something else that cause him pain. Of course, it still hurt because of the advanced spell on the whip, but that was never enough pain for them.
“This is for being weak, you little bastard!” The small boy waited for the whip to hit his front before he inhaled a quick, short breath. The rib that stuck into his lung had him hurting the most. The breath he took was too much for the young child. Hiei let out a loud scream as the whip hit him again three more times on the front.
A few more laughs were heard from the wall side. Everything was blurry because his eyes were still filled with forbidden tears. Another crack and it broke the skin on his chest, blood slowly slipped out of the new wounds, easily ripping through his olive green tunic and leggings. “That’s nice…give us some more yells, Hiei…” The younger wanted to start crying, because he knew that Baku wouldn’t stop whipping him…and maybe this time the beatings would be too much for him…
Baku was smirking evilly at each of Hiei’s screams as he walked around to his back. He was going to give Hiei the same treatment on front to back. The whip cracked many times, to which, felt like forever for the poor fire youkai. Each time a loud scream erupted from him, tears dared to fall from his ruby hues and betray him to the mercy of Baku.
“…You bastard…” Hiei thought to himself as he was swinging back and forth by his bounded wrists when Baku stopped his assault. The boy stayed silent, just like the room was. It was tension that held him from speaking out; keeping him from asking for more until they had finally beaten him to death. Red liquid began to slowly slip off his immobile form and drip onto the floor underneath him.
“Not going to give us those tear gems of yours?” The elevated youkai still wanted to start crying at the moment. He wanted to shed tears until he could never cry again. But, with much thought, Hiei knew that this wasn’t the time, nor the place to do that. Four of the five men, including Baku, left the room, snickering as they did. Shinai smiled up to Hiei as the youkai’s eyes were closed and spoke. “Sleep tight, Hiei…” The demon slid the door shut to leave the small demon suspended in the dark room for the night.
“Are they such idiots? Hurting me like this only makes me stronger…” The boy began to concentrate on his breathing regulation. “…Damn them…bastards…” Every other breath he took in was shuddering and hurt badly. The demon boy coughed and blood covered his shirtfront; knocking him unconscious. The black-haired demon’s head fell forward as he drifted off into a restless, silent sleep.
The fire youkai was hanging towards the ceiling of the sparring ground, slipping off into an odd dream. But before he did fall asleep, the demon made a silent promise to himself that he would only be able to accomplish when a tragedy struck the young male.
“…I will kill them…”

Did you enjoy this chapter of my fic, minna-sama? ::Bows towards everyone:: I left it off at a pretty odd spot, ne? Oh well, I guess you’ll just have to wait until the next chapter to get more~! ::Sing-songy voice:: A small bit of foreboding there too, but, be that as it may...you dunno what’ll happen next! ^^; Please read and review! Tell me how you like (Or dislike!) the characters so far...

To the wonderful people who actually did review...:
Mea: My fic makes you cry?! ::Starts crying:: Thank you~! Domo arigatou gozaimashita~! Merci~! Danke~! ::Cant think of anymore languages she can speak to say her thanks:: I’ve cried while reading my fic before, but I think you’re the first to actually say that you cried! Thanks~! ::Is happy, happy. Gives lots of chocolate pocky and hugs:: So, you’ve read it from my ff.net name, hm? Well, I’ve very, very, very, very glad to know that you reviewed it here~! Thanks so much!
Ryukotsusei: I love your name... ^-^; It’s really cool looking, but hard to say. The ‘tsusei’ part is complicated. ::Laughs:: Anyway, thank you for reviewing my story. I was really surprised that my story got so many hits yet so little reviews! ::Cries:: Still, I thank you for actually taking the time to put a little review up here. Makes me happy and all...well, I hope to update soon!
Mz.Bitz: True, true. Many of the events that you’ll be reading about in my story are based on what actually happens to Hiei...but little twists everywhere. I haven’t seen all of the anime, nor read most of the manga... (I think I got to book four of the manga...damn! I suck!) I hope you like it as much as I do... ^^; I hope I don’t make it too A/U that people won’t like it...well, I’m updating sooner~!
LittleKitsune: Thanks so much for your great comments! ^^; I like it when people actually notify me that my style of writing is good. Oh, and sorry about me whining over the whole ‘Yukina-older-than-Hiei’ bit. I know some people who actually hated that I had did that. Kinda made me sad. Well, I hope I can update faster than I normally do in stories...it takes me about a week or so to update... ::Sighs:: Such is the life of a author. ‘Til we meet again, a fine farewell.
