Chapter: 2 Unforseen Perils

AN: In this chapter we will see why Rage left Industrial Illusions.

Touya escorted Rage back to her room after she agreed to be trained by his team mates. “Are you sure you will be alright Rage?” “I will be fine Touya, see you tomorrow.” With that Rage softly shut her door and went over to her desk and booted up her laptop computer. She may have been on vacation by order of Sakyo but she could still get a head start on the upcoming work. A few hours into the work Rage’s phone rang. “Huh? Who could be calling at 1:45 in the morning?” Rage thought out loud as she went to answer it. “Hello?” After a short pause an all to familiar voice filled her ear and sent shivers down her spine. “Hello Miss Blackthorne, so good to hear your lovely voice again.” “P-Pegasus. How did you find me?” Rage asked as fear laced her voice. “Now is that anyway to treat your former boss and lover?” “You were never my lover by choice. I will never forget how you raped me after the loss of your wife Cecilia. You are indeed a sick man.” Rage spat as she started to get angry and things around the room began to float.

“I will have you again my dear. That is a promise.” Pegasus wispered then hung up. Rage began to get scared as her shadows of the past came back to haunt her. The items that were floating came down back to their place. Rage decided that if Pegasus found her here and called her then Kemo and Croquet with their goons would probably be in the hotel by now. She packed quickly and then picked up the phone. “Front desk, how may I help you?” “I would like to know the room numbers for Team Masho. This is an emergency.” “Please hold.” After a few moments of waiting the woman came back on the line. “Ok miss, their rooms are on the third floor numbers 13005 and 13006.” Rage hung up and left her room and took the stairs down to the third floor. ‘I hope Touya is still up.’ Rage thought as she found thors ors she was looking for.

Hesitating for a moment Rage knocked. A few minutes passed and a very sleepy Jin answered the door. “Sorry to wake you but I must speak to Touya.” Rage said as Jin came fully awake seeing her distress. “Sure, come in.” Jin said letting Rage in and shutting the door. Rage sat on the couch while Jin made her a cup of coco and then went to get Touya in the other room. Rage sipped the coco with shaking hands hearing Jin talk to Touya. “Yes, she is pretty distraught. Hands shaking like a leaf in the wind.” Touya came in a few moments later wide awake. “Rage what’s wrong?” “If it wouldn’t be to much a burden could I stay here with you and your team, my former employer Mr. Maximillion Pegasus of Industrial Illusions raped me 2 years ago just after his wife died. He is determined to get me back even if it means kidnaping me. He called me on my phone and made that threat just a half hour ago. I fear his goons are already in the hotel and they are well armed and extremely good fighters. I wouldn’t have a prayer even with my powers against them.”

Jin and Touya listened in and looked at one another. “Of course.” Was what they said together. Rage smiled and hugged them both. “I will inform Mr. Sakyo in the morning of where I am staying.” Rage said as Jin brought her an extra pillow and blanket. Touya suddenly felt the urge to protect Rage with his life. It was more than just an attraction or lust, now it was unconditional love that warmed Touya’s heart. He made a silent vow that he would always be there for Rage.

AN2: Looks like Touya has fallen in love with Rage. How should do this, should Kemo and them kidnap her during the end of the tournament or after when Sakyo gets killed as the stadium is collapsing?
