Darkness Within the Light

Good afternoon.

I know I haven't been here for quite a while, but I was having problems with figuring out how to write this chapter. It took me a while, but I completed it. Now don't think that this is the end of this...oh no. You are only at the beginning of this entire mess. There is more to come and more information to be learned.

The two stood in the door way in shock at the scene that lay before their eyes. There Kuwabara was, on the floor face down with Sato on his back. What made the two demons pissed off was where Sato’s hands were and even more so at the site of the demon biting down hard on Kuwabara’s shoulder.

“Get. Off. Him.” Growled Yusuke as he clenched his fists and began to tremble with fury.

“Sato what the Hell do you think you’re doing?!” Denshi growled as his hair began to change red, along with his eyes.

At the two voices, Sato froze in fear. He slowly looked up and saw the two pissed off demon’s standing in the broken door way. He hesitated for a moment before an idea came to mind. He licked away the blood that covered his lips and quickly got off his prey.

However, before Kuwabara could move, Sato pulled him up fiercely and the two were now standing. Sato raised a long claw to Kuwabara’s neck and pressed it firmly against the tender flesh.

“I’m just getting my turn with him, if you don’t mind?” Sato said, a wicked smile playing on his lips as he believed he had the upper hand at the moment.

“I do mind.” Growled Rando, who fully transformed back to his demon form.

Kuwabara’s eyes blinked at where Denshi was and saw the red haired demon with strange markings across his body. He felt his head hurt, as if trying to remember something that he had forgotten. However, his fear and the headache kept back anything that could help him remember.

“Oh tsk tsk my dear Rando. It was your own rule you know. No one has claim on anything once they walk through those doors. This means you yourself. Whatever is ours is yours and whatever is yours…” Sato said with a perverted grin and lightly licked up the side of Kuwabara’s neck with his tongue; causing the frightened teen to shiver at the touch.

“…Is mine.” Sato purred, as he got a firmer grip on his prey.

Yusuke’s eyes flashed red as his body began to tremble with pure rage.

“You have no right to claim him…none of you.” Yusuke said with a deadly quiet voice.

Rando took a step forward, ignoring Yusuke all together. His focus was set completely on the one he had cared for, the one who he felt he needed to protect, the one who he thought of as his and his alone.

“Let my mate to be go right now and I might give you a painless death.” Rando growls, his entire body glowing.

Sato laughed at the threat.

“Not a chance! Besides…I think I might want to mate him, if you don’t mind…all that power in your hands will go to waste…I would use it for much…better purposes…” Sato chuckled as he started to slowly move towards the hideout’s back door that leads to the opposite end of the building.

“Don’t move!” Yusuke growled, pointing his glowing finger at the demon that held his best friend; the same best friend who didn’t recognize him.

Sato stopped, his eyes widened at the serious threat staring him down. Sato shook his head and began to laugh.

“What? You’ll really attack me when I have one of yours in my possession?” Sato snorted.

“I will not hit him.” Yusuke said with so much confidence the demon trembled in fear.

Kuwabara’s eyes were wide during this entire scene, trying to sort out all the thoughts going through his mind all at once. His headache was back at full force when he witnessed Denshi turn into his demon form. He knew he had scene that demon form before but the pain grew every time he tried to figure anything and everything out.

Rando watched Kuwabara’s face closely and saw he was trying to remember in turn causing the poor teen immeasurable amount of pain. Yusuke noticed the pain filled look on his friend’s face, as well as the scared look. Yusuke held his pointed figure steady at the demon that held his dearest friend.

“Damnit Kuwabara you can whip this bastard’s ass with your eyes closed! Fight it!” Yusuke shouted.

Kuwabara closed his eyes and grunted.

“It…it…hurts….” Kuwabara groaned as he was hit with another sharp pain running from his head down his spine.

Yusuke’s eyes glazed over with unshed tears as he watched his friend not even struggle to save him self, the demon who held Kuwabara starting to continue to make his way to the exit.

Rando watched as Sato was almost to the door. He closed his eyes. He had to do it. He had to release his control on the human. Rando knew it was the only way to save him from Sato. He knew that Yusuke was right about how easily Kuwabara could have taken out Sato; however he knew that the spell kept him in a haze of pain that made it impossible to function properly.

‘Kuwabara…I’m sorry…I’m sorry about the pain you are about to endure, but I rather have you hate me then have you be mated to that vile demon…” Rando thought.

He put his hands together and started to chant.

His chanting caught the attention of Yusuke and Sato, who turned to him. Kuwabara stiffened as he listened to the chant. Rando opened his eyes and outstretched his hands towards Kuwabara.

As if he was struck with a powerful blast, Kuwabara’s head shot up as his memories came back to him. He remembered everything from when he first meet Yusuke Urameshi until the night he sold his soul to Rando; the demon who pretended to love him.

Kuwabara’s head fell to his chest, causing both Sato and Yusuke to become alarmed. He turned glaring and fire filled eyes towards Rando, who had a sad and distant look in his own eyes; startling Yusuke.

“All of his memory is restored…he remembers you, me, and his other memories, good and bad.” Rando said, his eyes glazing over as if he was about to cry.

Yusuke felt a jerk at his heart at the look he was receiving. It was the look filled with despair and pain.

“He also remembers everything he had done up to this point while under the spell…” Rando said, closing his eyes.

Kuwabara’s head groaned, catching Yusuke’s attention. Kuwabara’s head rose and he looked around a bit, seeming like he was trying to figure out what was happening.

Sato had paled. He knew if he didn’t escape soon he would be killed by the one he was holding. Sato let go of Kuwabara, whose eyes widened as he fell forward.

“Kuwabara!” Yusuke shouted as he ran to catch his groggy and disoriented friend.

Yusuke held his friend who had the saddest eyes he had ever seen.

“Oh…Urameshi….I…I…” Kuwabara tried to speak, but as the recent memories caught up to him; his resigning as a detective, how he hit his sister, how he threw away the collar of his beloved cat Eikichi, the love he thought was true; all flashing in front of his mind’s eyes.

Sato reached the door and was about to go through before he turned back to glare at Rando.

“I will make you pay, Rando. I know your weakness now…and when you least expect it, I WILL make that human MINE.” Sato growled before exiting the building.

Yusuke held Kuwabara close to him with a growl; his eyes glaring daggers at the demon.

Rando turned his attention to Kuwabara whose eyes were filled with pain and confusion. Kuwabara turned to him with a look of betrayal. It was obvious by the look Kuwabara was giving him that the teen had developed feelings for the demon. That hurt Rando more then anything else; hurting the one he had loved.

Sato ran out of the room. Rando growled and ran after him, but stopped at the door when he heard Yusuke’s cold voice.

“I’ll kill you for what you did…you can run….but I WILL find you…” Yusuke growled glaring death towards the demon.

However, Kuwabara grabbed Yusuke’s shirt, pulling his best friend closer to him.

“Urameshi….” He whimpered in pain emotionally and physically.

Yusuke’s eyes softened as he looked down at his best friend whose own eyes were filled with pain.

“Hey it’s alright…I’ll protect you Kuwa…I won’t let anything happen to you again…I promise…” Yusuke said, hugging the now sobbing man to his chest.

When Yusuke looked at the door, Rando was gone. Yusuke tightened his grip on Kuwabara.

“Yusuke?”

Yusuke didn’t turn, knowing who had called him.

“He’s ok Kurama…we have him back…” Yusuke said, standing up, carrying the trembling and weeping Kuwabara in his arms.

Hiei and Kurama looked sadly at their human team mate and moved out of the door way to let their leader leave with Kuwabara in his arms.

‘I swear to you Rando…I will kill you for this…’
