Scene 16 ------------------------------------ Later That Day


* When Hiei finishes his patrol of the ravine he arrives at the riverside spot that he'd told the younger males to be gathered. He isn't much surprised when there are only three of them.


Hiei- Hn.. So where is the other one?


* Hiei watches Gamaru and Silis look toward Troiyoku. The eldest of the three glances back at them, then rolls his eyes.


Hiei- Just tell me, d--- it! I'm not going to be surprised by anything from this group.


* Troiyoku steps forward.


Troiyoku- There.. is a reason that Gamock kept.. only certain ones of his male children..

Hiei- You mean besides helping him gather food or protect the women?


* Gamaru crosses his arms and huffs with annoyance as he looks away.


Silis- How could we protect anything?

Gamaru- You told us yourself that our power levels aren't worth s---.

Hiei- That wasn't my exact words, boy.

Troiyoku- Gathering the food was more accurate, Master.. But, yes, there is another reason.


* Hiei mentally braces himself as he studies the three boys.


Silis- The three of us.. We've come to terms with our.. situation.. But D'Garo.. Well, he's still young..

Hiei- Just tell me what the h--- it is you're trying to say!

Troiyoku- We're bearers.


* The tall Fire hybrid lowers his eyes.


Troiyoku- J-just like.. our mothers.


* The three all fall silent now to wait and see how their new Alpha is going to react. For several moments the apparition remains still, processing this new development. Of course, it's nothing new to a well-traveled demon such as himself to be aware of this 'quality' in certain demon species and certain.. crosses. It is surprising to the youngers, though, when Hiei finally just shrugs.


Hiei- Big deal. So am I.. Because of my strength and my jagan's special abilities I've been able to protect myself.. since I've matured.


* Now Hiei gives the boys the chance to do some processing before he continues.


Hiei- So, let me guess.. This fact is embarrassing to the sensitive boy.

Silis- D'Garo can't help who he is.. or how he is.

Hiei- Fine. Whatever. I'll deal with him later..


* Gamaru stands from the log he remained seated on with an angry growl that makes Hiei raise an eyebrow.


Ganaru- If you hurt him, I'll..

Troiyoku- Gam!


* Troiyoku moves to shove his brother backward. Unknown to the boys, Hiei has decided to open his jagan behind the ward as he observes them argue a couple moments. His dark chuckle quiets them.


Hiei- Hn.. So you care more than normal for that one..


* troiyoku and Silis both blink at Hiei startled, then they go on high alert and slide themselves between Hiei and Gamaru. The Koorime isn't phased by their sudden show of nervous protection.


Hiei- Both of you stand down.. If you think I'm going to be threatened if those two want to screw each other then it's because you don't know me well enough yet.

Troiyoku- B-but.. what they feel.. for each other is..

Gamaru- How can I help it if the kid adores me? It's pointless anyway.

Hiei- Why would you say that?


* Gamaru tilts his head and jabs his finger at the mark on his neck.


Gamaru- Because of this d--- mark!


* For the first time Hiei's eyes widen as he notices the scarred mating mark for the first time. With a groan he raises his unwarded hand to pinch the bridge of his nose.


Hiei- Oh, d---.. This is why I hate drama..


* Then a new realization dawns in Hiei's already aching brain. He raises his eyes to look at the boys again.


Hiei- Then.. all of you were..?


* Troiyoku and Silis both reveal the marks on their own necks.


Hiei- The sensitive one, too?

Troiyoku- Hai.

Hiei- Terrific.. What the h--- kinda freak was that old demon?

Troiyoku- Hyena.


* Hiei now nods disdainfully.


Hiei- Hn.. That explains a lot.. One of the nastier species to deal with..

Silis- So, can we leave now?

Gamaru- Or do you still want to continue this farce of making men out of us?


* Hiei growls, then points at Troiyoku.


Hiei- You, I already know to be the most loyal and responsible.. You,..


* He motions next to Silis.


Hiei- Are brash and a bit arrogant, but not unmanagable.. But you..


* He sets his eyes on the tallest male in the middle.


Hiei- You're brave, but your confidence borders on foolishness.. to the point of being hazardous to your very existance.


* Silis snorts and elbows Gamaru.


Silis- He's got you pegged.

Troiyoku- B-but.. how do you..?


* Hiei pushes his bandana up enough to reveal his open jagan. Silis is the only one brave enough to tilt his head and start to move closer to get a better look at it.


Silis- A.. third eye?


* Hiei quickly yanks the ward back down before he ends up with three entranced boys. He wills it close since he's learned more than enough for one day.


Hiei- It's called a jagan.. It's very powerful, very dangerous,.. and very sensitive to thoughts and feelings.. With it I can know everything that you know. I can also use it to reduce all of you to mushbrrained zombies that will only live and breathe to do my every whim.


* Silis swallows hard and leaps back away from him.


Silis- S-so you're.. pretty much.. invincible!?

Troiyoku- D---.. Mother chose..


* Hiei's temple throbs when Gamaru gives his older brother a shove and glares at him warningly.


Hiei- For the last f---ing time! I've already learned about that d--- scheme of hers!!


* The boys all look toward Hiei again. The Koorime slowly calms himself back down.


Hiei- Hn.. I know because that mother of yours told me herself.. So by this, you now know that I can only predict actions that I actually will my jagan to be focused on..


* Hiei looks at them again. He settles his eyes on Gamaru again.


Hiei- And I've made you its top priority, you cocky b------.. Are we.. understood?


* Gamaru moves back to sit down on the log again. When he looks away to the side with a twinge of annoyance Hiei recognizes the Fire-based manner and decides to overlook it for now.


Hiei- You and your brother both favor Fire.. But you carry the bearing trait because of your Hyena father.. Hyenas, as I said, are a nasty species known for their trigger tempers.. Fire demons aren't exactly the most patient, either..


* Silis looks toward Gamaru and Troiyoku again grinning.


Silis- Man, he really does have you two..

Gamaru- Shut the h--- up, Silis!

Hiei- So then, you.. Silis, is it?


* Silis quickly turns to face Hiei and gives a slight bow of respect.


Silis- Hai, Master.

Hiei- I know enough about them now.. Who is your mother?

Silis- Celestia.

Hiei- Celestia?

Gamaru- The one that lost her baby because of..

Troiyoku- Gamaru! Speak of that again and I will rearrange more than your attitude!


* Gamaru leaps up to face Troiyoku. Hiei growls as the two brothers bump chests and continue postering. When this gets no reaction the apparition blurs over between them. It only takes a mild burst of his energy to seperate them and shove them both back onto their rears. This leaves both of the brothers a bit startled. Hiei ignores their gazing eyes and dropped jaws to turn to Silis again.


Hiei- All I can do about that is express my displeasure at its occurrance.. But I can't change the result.

Silis- Put yourself at ease.. Mother knew what would happen when Aunt Sarista first brought up her plan.


* Troiyoku gathers himself and sits up straighter.


Troiyoku- Hai.. She and Mother had a long discussion, but..

Silis- But Mother understood the neccessity of Aunt Sarista's plan..

Hiei- enough, boy.. So what is the rest of your heritage?

Silis- My Mother is a half-breed.. She's part wolf and part Fire.

Hiei- Hn.. Well, that explains your bushy, unruly mane.


* Silis self-conciously raises a hand to try to smooth down his abundant, bushy afro-style hair. Troiyoku chuckles and Hiei shakes his head.


Hiei- Give it up, boy, it's pointless.


* Gamaru sits up now.


Gamaru- So what is your heritage?


* Hiei looks down at Gamaru a moment before answering.


Hiei- My sire was a Fire demon, my Mother was an Ice apparition..

Troiyoku- Half ice.. Like Aunt Klarice?


* Hiei glances over his shoulder at Troiyoku.


Hiei- Hn. Is that a problem?

Troiyoku- H--- no.. It's almost as if you were meant to be here with this ragtag pack.


* Hiei mentally rolls his eyes and moves back to his original place.


Hiei- All of this s--- is getting us no where.. You..


* He motions to Gamaru again.


Hiei- Stand up and show me your energy level.


* Gamaru glances between Troiyoku and Silis, then hesitantly stands when they both shrug.


Gamaru- Uh.. Excuse me?


* Hiei takes note of the blank looks on all their faces and plants his face in his palm with another moan.


Hiei- Oh, h---.. I truly am cursed.


* Hiei centers himself with a deep breath, then moves forward to begin their formal training by explaining to them about their energy levels' importance and how to display it.
