Darkness Within the Light

Good evening.

This is the second to last chapter before I start into the next part of this story. This story is going to either consist of three to four parts to it. This first part was mainly focused on Kuwabara's pain and rising power. The next part to this story will focus on Yusuke's inner struggle and how Kuwabara deals with his messed up emotions. I'm not sure exactly what I will do for the thrid part, however I do have a general idea of what I would like to do.

This means after the next chapter I will not be posting this for quite a while. I will be working on more chapters since I will have run out of those chapters I have already made. Thank you to all of you who have reviewed so far and I hope you will be patient enough to wait for more to come.

Rando stood in front of Yusuke; both demons staring daggers at each other.

“Get. Out. Of. My. Way.” growled Yusuke, clenching his fists.

“No. He’s mine.” snarled Rando, showing his fangs at Yusuke.

Yusuke’s eyes turned red at this, causing the snarl on Rando’s face to become a smirk.

“You can’t stand it can you? You can’t stand that I have what you want; I have his love, something you haven’t been able to get, have you?” Rando said.

Yusuke’s eyes widened.

“You…you’re lying! Kuwabara would never love you! Not willingly! And why do you keep saying I love him! I don’t love that idiot! He’s my best friend!” Yusuke shouts, taking a step forward, his fist clenched.

Rando smirks, enjoying the look of rage and fear cross Yusuke’s face.

“You’re the one who is lying, Urameshi. You really don’t think telling that would convince me of such? I know, the only one who doesn’t want to admit it is you! You do love him and that is why it hurts! I did the thing you had not the courage to do! I told him and now you won’t have him!” Rando says.

“Shut up!!” Yusuke says, punching Rando in the face and sending him into the wall.

Yusuke stood there, breathing heavily as he glared at the demon.

“You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about! I don’t know where you’re getting this crap from, but it’s wrong!” Yusuke shouts.

Rando laughs as he stands up.

“Face it Urameshi, you’re just scared of the truth. You always have been.” Rando says.

Yusuke’s eyes flash red as he growls.

Rando laughs again.

“Soon, Kuwabara will accept my offer to being my mate and then you won’t be able to do a thing. The only way to prevent me from mating him is to mate him your self!”

Rando smirked at the mixed emotions that seemed to surround Yusuke’s entire body.

“But then again…you don’t love him, like you said…so why would you do a crazy thing like that?” Rando asks.

“He’s a guy! He’s my best friend! I can’t have that kind of feelings for him! It’s just not natural!” Yusuke shouts.

‘I can’t…I don’t…but why do I feel like my hearts getting pulled out and stepped on?’ thinks Yusuke, confused at the emotions that coming over him.

Rando smirks as he stands a foot away from Yusuke.

“Well, it shouldn’t affect you then if I want him as a mate or not, now should it? You want him happy, don’t you, being his best friend and all?” Rando asks.

“And what? You make him happy!” growls Yusuke.

“Yes.”

Yusuke narrows his eyes at the demon.

Rando’s face was dead serious.

“That’s a damn lie…” Yusuke growled.

“It’s the truth. He’s happier with me, much happier then he had been in the past three years. Do you even know what pain he’s gone through over those three years?” asked Rando, his face showing something Yusuke thought he would see from Rando; compassion.

“You have no idea how much that boy suffered. I’ve been inside his head. All the fears, all the pain he’s gone through. He’s seen more than a normal human should in his short life.” Rando says, his eyes glowing in rage just thinking of the horrors his human had gone through.

Rando bends close to Yusuke, who takes a step backwards.

“You really don’t know do you? You being his best friend, like you claim, you should know more then what I do…but…”

Rando leaned in closer.

“…then again…half of his pain was caused by you anyway…” Rando said as if venom was dripping from his mouth.

Rando backed out of Yusuke’s space to glare at him.

“You don’t deserve him as a friend or as a lover. He would be much better off with out you.”

Yusuke just stood there in complete shock. Shizuru’s words coming back into his mind.

#* “He missed you guys, ya know? He was basically miserable the whole three years; especially over you.”*#

Yusuke’s eyes widened.

‘I did this to Kuwabara…’ Yusuke thinks.

A scream broke the tension and filled the alley.

Rando’s and Yusuke’s eyes both widened as the looked at the closed door.

Rando’s minions, as well as Hiei and Kurama stopped fighting to look as well.

Rando looked at his group of minions and cursed as he realized which one of them had escorted Kuwabara back into the hide out. His eyes widened as another scream from the hideout broke out; this one more pain filled then the first.

“Kuwabara!!” Yusuke shouted as he headed towards the door, Rando right behind him.

‘Damn you Sato….’ Rando thinks.

‘I’m never going to hurt you again…I won’t let you down again…oh Kuwabara…’ Yusuke thinks as he kicks down the door.
