Scene 13
Scene 13 -------------- Two Days Later
* For the past couple days every time Hiei approached the main barrier to begin his journey back to Alaric, for some reason his instincts won’t allow him to cross through and go. After another failed attempt today Hiei growls and decides to go check on Habataro’s mates. When he approaches the trio of huts Coutaro looks out of his hut.
Coutaro- Hey, Boss. We’re in here.
* Hiei stops and tilts his head up at Coutaro.
Hiei- You’re back already?
* When Hiei enters Coutaro’s hut he finds Habataro, Kumataro, and Dagon at Coutaro’s kitchen table.
Habataro- Hey, we can run pretty fast.
Kumataro- Yeah. Even this bird had a hard time keeping up.
* Dagon glares at Kuma.
Dagon- In your dreams, cat! I practically carried you the whole way.
* Habataro shakes his head when his brother and the Crow glare daggers at each other. Hab then looks up at Hiei who is also staring at the two.
Habataro- We just this morning.. Never mind these two, they’ve been at each other like this almost the whole trip.
Coutaro- Hmph. I think they should just f--- each other and get it over with.
* Kumataro looks away blushing as Dagon squawks.
Hiei- Whatever they do is fine with me.. What did you learn, Hab?
Habataro- That fortress is huge.
Dagon- Indeed.
* Dagon turns his attention to Hiei.
Dagon- You and your whole pack could move in there with plenty of rooms to spare.
Kumataro- For more children, perhaps.
Hiei- I have enough kids now.. How well is it fortified?
Habataro- Very well. It’s got walls completely encircling it. Kuma can infuse a barrier through them with no problem.
Dagon- One main gate. The doors needed to be replaced, but that’s already being worked on. My cousin Pterrayu’s clan are very skilled craftsmen.
Hiei- Sounds good.
Habataro- Have you returned to Alaric, yet?
Hiei- No. Something is keeping me here.. I’m figuring it might concern my three mates that are close to delivering.
Habataro- Good. We’ll accompany you when you go.
Hiei- I already figured as much..
Kumataro- Why does this bird have to go? Doesn’t he have a complex to be in charge of?
* Hiei jackslaps Kumataro.
Hiei- Stop complaining. I can’t get rid of him, either. He grows on you like moss.
Dagon- Gee, I feel loved.
* Hiei smirks and turns to leave.
Dagon- Is your pack okay with your.. improvement?
* Hiei pauses to look back at them.
Hiei- Most of them took it well.. Sylk still hates me.
* He looks away again.
Habataro- You may have to cower her, sir.
Hiei- I refuse to do that to any of you.
* Dagon tilts his head when Hiei still hesitates to leave.
Dagon- You’re concerned about moving your pack.
* Hiei’s become too familiar with Dagon’s abilities to make a denial.
Hiei- Hn. I need to return to Alaric, but my first priority is still my pack.
Habataro- Perhaps you’ll be more able to leave them once they’re settled in your new fortress.
Hiei- Perhaps. But I can’t move them, yet.
Coutaro- You know we’ll go along and help to protect them.
* Hiei glances back at the brothers and Dagon.
Hiei- Of course.. But they’re my responsibility.. My life..
Habataro- Then wait till the closest ones deliver. It won’t be long, right?
Hiei- No. I’ll let you know when I’m ready.
* They all agree and Hiei leaves. Dagon reaches over to snatch a piece of meat from Kumataro’s plate.
Kumataro- Hey! Give that back, ya d--- bird!
* Habataro looks at Coutaro. They both shrug as the pair continue scuffling over the piece of meat.
