Scene 13 ----------- Later That Day
* Hiei is standing under the waterfall. His mind is jumbled by too many thoughts to notice Shironji when he first materializes on the shore. The tiny demon decides to remain respectfully quiet. When Hiei finally sighs and turns to leave the water he notices Shironji. He sinks down on the shore to relax beside him, unconcerned about his state of undress. The Ninjini has seen him in nearly every aspect of condition since coming into his employ.
Shironji- What has you so troubled, Master?
Hiei- I have five children now.
Shironji- Ahh.. indeed.. I have twenty.. to date.
* Hiei looks down at the Ninjini.
Hiei- Twenty?
Shironji- Hai. Would you like me to name them?
Hiei- No.. How the h--- do you stay sane?
* Shironji chuckles lightheartedly.
Shironji- I go on these missions and leave them at home with my mates.
* Hiei looks back into the water, leaning back on his arms.
Hiei- How do you continue risking your life knowing you could be risking theirs?
* Shironji looks at Hiei somewhat surprised by the concerned question. His Master is changing more and more the longer he stays with this pack. The Ninjini then shrugs, 'Not that that's a bad thing, I guess'.
Shironji- I do my best not to get killed.
Hiei- And how do they live with your risks?
Shironji- They're all Ninjini.. They were raised knowing the risk of our profession.. My children will be doing the same thing someday.. In fact, several of my oldest offspring are already out on their own doing what I do. So far, they've all made me quite proud with their skills.
* Hiei sits upright again, raising one knee to rest his warded arm on it.
Shironji- Speaking of my job.. I have a report from Dagon.
* Hiei remains distracted a moment, then waves his other hand.
Hiei- Give it.
Shironji- He and Matsua are becoming very close. The b------ trusts Dagon implicitly.
* Hiei looks down at Shironji again.
Shironji- Matsua is a strong demon, but he's not very big in the brains department.
Hiei- Has Dagon been able to look at Matsua's records?
Shironji- Matsua keeps no records. He gives no care about where his.. stock comes from.. He only cares about the money he makes from selling them and the offspring he breeds for selling.
Hiei- D---! I don't want a scumbag like that in my..
* He lets the sentence trail when he realizes what he was about to say.
Shironji- There is something else about him.
Hiei- What?
Shironji- He's a chronic boaster.
Hiei- Give me one demon, myself included, like him that isn't.
* Shironji scowls.
Shironji- You were never anything like this guy, Master.
* Hiei snorts sarcastically.
Shironji- Well, this one's been boasting about having females pregnant to the Mazoku and the great Youko.
* Hiei looks back down at Shironji, processes what the tiny tailed demon has just said, then stands with a curse as he yanks his cloak back on.
Hiei- D--- him to h---!
* Hiei glares down at Shironji.
Hiei- You tell Dagon that I want that son of a b---- dead.. You hear me?
* Shironji stands.
Shironji- I thought you wanted to kill him yourself, M'Lord?
* Hiei hesitates, then snarls as the idea of what Matsua has done to his friends further builds inside him.
Hiei- Hn. How many days' journey is Matsua's facility from here?
Shironji- By your speed, at least.. three days at most.
* The Koorime rubs his chin thoughtfully, then nods.
Hiei- Fine. Tell Dagon that I will be there in three days.. I expect to find no hinderance at the main gate. It won't take me five minutes to kill that b------ then I'll get back here before my next mate births.
* Shironji bows.
Shironji- It will be..
Hiei- Shi,..
* Hiei looks back down at the Ninjini.
Hiei- Can I trust Dagon?
Shironji- Without a doubt.. When we're together with Matsua nowhere in sight you're all the Crow talks about.. He's quite.. enamored. And he's shielded your mark from Matsua very well.
Hiei- What?
Shironji- Dagon's been using a masking spell to keep that hidden.. He's very skilled with masking.
* Hiei smirks.
Hiei- Good.. Tell him that I'll let him know when to reveal that to the idiot.
Shironji- Will that be all?
Hiei- Hn. See to it.
* Shironji bows and poofs away. Hiei turns and heads back to the main camp.
