Scene 11 ------------ Later That Day
* Yukina recognizes Kuwabara’s thoughtful mood when she brings the tray of tea into the common room.
Yukina- She’s awake.. She’ll probably be out soon.
Kuwabara- I just don’t get it, Yukie.
Yukina- She’s pregnant with my neice or nephew.
* Kuwabara rolls his eyes up at her.
Kuwabara- That much I get, Babe.. Sorta.. I mean.. I can’t believe that Hiei.. did that to her. She's a human.
* Yukina sighs and pours three cups of tea as she talks.
Yukina- Well, it was Springtime in Demon World.. I believe that she’ll fill us in on more details once she settles in.
Kuwabara- Yeah, okay.. Love gets everyone eventually, I guess.. But now he goes and dumps her here with us..?
* Now Yukina straightens up and scowls at the thickheaded human.
Yukina- Weren’t you listening to Koenma? Hiei is now one of the three Demon Lords since Mukuro has passed, leaving her power to him.
* As Yukina chides the redhead she feels Staci approach the wide doorway to the common room. The blonde hesitates to enter as she continues listening.
Yukina- As soon as Yomi finds this out he may react to attempt to overthrow Hiei.
Kuwabara- So Hiei will just throw his black dragon move at him and..
Yukina- It won’t be that simple, Kazuma. Hiei sent her here to keep her safe from what he must think may happen.
* Staci decides to enter. Yukina and Kuwabara both look toward her.
Staci- If that’s true.. Why just me? He has a whole pack of mates.
* Kuwabara nearly tips out of his chair, but Yukina pushes him back into it. Obviously, Koenma has left out a lot of information.
Yukina- Are you the only.. human?
Staci- Hai.
* Yukina nods.
Yukina- As I said, he brought you here for your protection.. Come have some tea, sister.
* Staci timidly moves to sit at the low coffeetable.
Kuwabara- A whole.. pack?!
Staci- Yes.. He has.. uhmm.. at least fourteen.. that I can remember.
* Kuwabara and Yukina both look at each other.
Staci- You’re Yukina.. His sister.
* Yukina gathers herself and smiles as she nods at Staci.
Yukina- Hai.
Staci- You do look like her.
Yukina- Her?
Staci- Oh.. Her name was Klarice. She was an Ice/Wind hybrid.. She died giving birth to Hiei’s first baby.
* Now Kuwabara twitches.
Kuwabara- Hiei.. A Father?
Staci- Well, he is our Alpha. Of course he bred us all.. Well, except for those three Lynx brothers.. And Minoro. He can’t be bred because he was gelded.
* This revelation leaves even Yukina silent. Staci falls silent as she notices their shock at this news. Then Kuwa snaps out of his stupor to look at Yukina.
Kuwabara- Hey, wait.. Isn’t Yusuke one of those Demon Lord guys, too?
* Yukina shakes herself and looks up at Kuwabara again.
Yukina- Yes.
Kuwabara- Then I’m pretty sure he’ll help Hiei.. If those two join forces this Yomi guy won’t have a chance.
Yukina- But didn’t Yusuke make a pact with Yomi to not attack him since Kurama is Yomi’s Second?
* Kuwabara literally deflates with a groan. Yukina looks back at Staci and recognizes that she is a bit overwhelmed by their exchange.
Yukina- Never mind all of that.. Why don’t you just tell us more about my brother’s pack?
* Staci looks down into her tea cup.
Staci- Well,.. it all started when Sarista.. She was our Alpha Female..
* When Yukina nods her understanding Staci continues divulging the whole account to the pair. They both listen intently, unaware of the silent, tiny observer. The Ninjini, one of Shironji’s other sons, remains cloaked on the mantle on the far wall.
