Scene 11
Scene 11 -------------- The Village
* Hiei jolts to a stop beside Troiyoku in Kumataro's hut. Habataro is holding his angry brother. Hiei glances toward Coutaro, who is laying on the couch. The youngest Lynnx brother is injured, but not fatally.
Troiyoku- Before we could.. get back here.. that b---- took her son.. and left.
* Hiei glances up at Troiyoku. He can feel the boy's discomfort as he begins to settle down. The trip down here was obviously not a good idea. Hiei starts to move toward Habataro and Kumataro when Troi suddenly cries out and collapses to one knee. Coutaro sits up quickly.
Coutaro- Troi!?
* Hiei returns to find his mate kneeling in a growing patch of watery liquid. The scent sends Hiei into instinctual motion.
Hiei- He's gone into labour.. We need a bed.. I'm calling for Sarista and Trinka, Troyo.. Hold on.
* Troiyoku groans and doubles against Hiei. Habataro hurries over.
Habataro- Kuma only has one bed..
Kumataro- Through here, Master!
* With all the commotion that suddenly fills the hut, Darieth's foolish disobedience is forgotten. Hiei growls, then forces himself to quiet and allow Habataro to help him get Troiyoku into Kuma's bedroom. The elder Lynx then backs off as Hiei helps his mate get as comfortable as possible on the thick futon.
Hiei- Try to relax..
Troiyoku- Easy.. for you to.. say! Ahh!!
Hiei- Your Mother and sister are on their way as quickly as they can come.
* Coutaro hobbles his way over to the other side of the bed. He cautiously hits his good knee when Hiei growls and flashes his eyes at him a moment. The Koorime then takes a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down again, and nods toward Cou. The younger twin edges closer and grasps Troiyoku's free hand.
Habataro- I'll go summon our healer as well.
* Troiyoku cries out again as Hab scurries out.
Troiyoku- Ohh.. s---! I- I'm.. dying..!
Hiei- You're not going to die!
Troiyoku- Are you.. feeling.. any of this..?!
Hiei- No, I'm blocking so I can concentrate on helping you, boy.
Troiyoku- Then don't.. act.. like you..!
* Just then Sarista and Trinka enter.
Sarista- Hush, son.. Don't say something you'll regret later.
* Hiei moves back to allow Sarista to get closer. She caresses Troi's damp cheek to get his glaring attention away from their Alpha. Hiei quietly turns and leaves past the village healer. Habataro watches Hiei move to sit down on his couch. He glances toward Kuma who'd followed their Master out of the noisy bedroom.
Kumataro- By the time his baby's born he'll forget everything he said, sir.
Hiei- Hn. You should've heard some of the things Sarista said to me while she was birthing our twins.
* Habataro goes over and sits down beside Hiei. Kuma moves into the kitchen to put some water on for tea.
Kumataro- Now I remember why I never watched my mate give birth.
* Hiei half glances toward Kumataro.
Hiei- I wish I could apologize for your daughter's stupidity, Kuma.
* Kumataro looks toward his main door. Hiei feels the Lynx's temptation to take off after Darieth return.
Hiei(Quietly)- It would be too late by now.. I know Rat demon nature fairly well.
Kumataro- You're living proof that nature isn't always predictable.
* Hiei lowers his eyes.
Hiei- If this hadn't started I would have gone after her like I did before.
* Habataro looks at Hiei.
Habataro- Unfortunate timing.. Let's just concentrate on hoping that Troi comes through this well.
Kumataro- The baby, also.
* Kumataro sighs deeply and occupies himself with finishing the tea. He then brings the tray of three mugs over to the coffee table. He passes the first one to Hiei, who hesitantly accepts it, then gives the second to Hab. Kuma then moves to one of the armchairs with his own mug. Hiei stares down into his tea as he continues listening to the painful noise coming from the bedroom. It is unavoidable in the rather small hut.
Kumataro- I can put up a shield to block the..
Hiei- No.. At least this way I can hear.. Now be quiet, cat.
* They all glance up when Roqueyo enters. She stops and looks around.
Roqueyo- What the..?
Habataro- Troiyoku is birthing.
* The female quickly calms down.
Roqueyo- Well, it's going to be a long night.. Shall I prepare dinner over here?
Habataro- Sounds good, 'Queyo
* Roqueyo goes into the kitchen area as the three males return their attentions to listening to the event taking place in the bedroom.
