Scene 10
Seriously, I thought I would get more feedback on this plot twist. (shrugs) Oh well, on we go.

Scene 10 ---------- Human World
* Not long after Hiei and Staci appear near the back porch of Genkai’s shrine the large shoji door slides open and the burly redhead steps out. For a couple moments, he and Hiei just stare at each other. Finally Hiei breaks the gaze and motions toward Staci.
Hiei- I.. found her.. in Demon World..
Kuwabara- Koenma’s inside. He’s already told us who she is.
* Hiei looks at Staci.
Hiei- His name is Kuwabara.. He’ll be.. a great help to you.
Kuwabara- Never thought you’d stoop to this level, Hiei!
* Hiei looks back up at Kuwabara. He senses the fear that keeps the human on the porch, in spite of Kuwa's outward show of bravado.
Kuwabara- I mean, I thought you were an honorable guy..! I never would have pegged you as a rapist!
* Staci looks up at the redhead. She starts to speak, but Hiei lays a hand on her arm. He finally turns away to look into her deep blue eyes.
Hiei- Let him think whatever he pleases.. It makes him happy when he thinks he’s right.
Staci- Hiei,..
Hiei- He.. and his mate will take good care of you here.
* Hiei feels another presence come out of the shrine. He hesitantly glances toward Yukina.
Hiei- I have to go.
Yukina- I can’t say that I blame you for running.
Hiei- That is.. Yukina.
* Staci recognizes the name and looks at Hiei again. But he has already turned back toward the portal.
Staci- Hiei, I..
Hiei- It’s better.. for you and the baby this way, Whitey.
* He can’t help but look at her again when he hears her sniffle. Some tears have already escaped down her cheeks. He faces her fully and lifts a hand to brush them away. She surprises him when she throws her arms around him.
Staci- I will.. miss you.. I won’t forget you!
* Hiei struggles briefly with his possessive demon instincts as he returns the embrace. Then he calmly turns his head to place his lips against his mark on her neck. When he starts to speak Staci gets his intentions and squirms away from him.
Staci- No! I won’t allow you to drop me here and just walk away forever..! I want you to know our baby.
Hiei- I have a big task ahead of me.. I have no idea how long..
Staci- It doesn’t matter.
* Hiei sighs.
Hiei- It won’t be easy for you to..
Staci- My life hasn’t been easy since I was dragged into Demon World!
* Kuwabara quirks an eyebrow at Koenma when the Prince joins them on the porch.
Kuwabara- Was Hiei the one that..?!
* Koenma cuffs Kuwabara upside his head and Yukina jams her elbow into his side. Hiei half glances over his shoulder, then leans to give Staci one last, quick kiss as the redhead yammers at Koenma and Yukina. By the time Staci re-opens her eyes Hiei is gone. She stumbles when she turns to witness the portal closing. Koenma hurries down to her when she starts toward it.
Koenma- You may not understand it now, Staci. But this is for the best right now.
* Staci glares up at Koenma through her tears.
Staci- For me.. or for him?!
Koenma- For both of you.. You’re exhausted. Come inside now. Yukina will show you to your room so you can rest.
* Staci looks back toward where the portal was, but it is completely gone. She nearly collapses, but the Teen godling holds her up and helps her back up to the porch.
Koenma- She needs to rest, Yukina. The seperation will be hard on her for a day or so.
Yukina- Hai. I have a large room ready for you,.. sister.
* Yukina’s gentle tone and affectionate sentiment puts Staci at ease enough to jerk loose from Koenma. She even casts a glare up at Kuwabara as she passes to follow Yukina into the shrine. Kuwabara looks back down at the Prince sternly.
Kuwabara- Perhaps you’d better finish telling us what the h--- is going on? I wanted to go down there and plow that shrimp, but there was something so.. different about him.. His aura was so strong that I could barely move.
* Koenma sighs deeply.
Koenma- Indeed.. Maybe you’ll pay better attention now.
* Kuwabara grunts then turns and leads Koenma back inside.
