Hiei's Harem - Pt. 1 - Establishment

Scene 10 ------------------------------------------- Later That Day


* Hiei, himself, is keeping watch on the rock shelf that is located just to the upper right of the cave entrance. His mind has tirelessly tried to think of some way out of this as he's watched over the small, lounging clan below him. He finally gives his head a brisk shake and rubs his tickling nose. On a hunch he looks closer at the clan. Somehow in his daydreaming one of the females has slipped away. It startles him at how quickly panic begins to race through him and he feels his jagan opening. It doesn't take very long at all though before he wills it to close again and leans forward to look down below the overhang. Klarice looks up at smiles at him in that same signature ice maiden trait that Yukina always has. Hiei narrows his red eyes against the slight breeze emanating from her.


Hiei- Stop. Now.


* Klarice lowers her eyes and bows her aqua-hued head. Hiei feels a slight twinge of guilt at his gruffness. Before he can say anything else Klarice hurries back to the others. Hiei sighs inwardly, then feels another presence approaching cautiously from behind. He leans back into his original position, draws one of his knees up to his chest, and props his unwarded arm on it. He keeps his eyes out toward the ravine that spreads out windingly below him.


Hiei- Do you have a problem, Boy?


* Hiei hears the quiet gasp in the bushes that line the pathway up to the ledge.


Hiei- Come on out. I'm not going to bite you.


* Hiei scowls at his words, then glances toward Troiyoku as he comes into the open and sinks to his knees.


Troiyoku- Please, Master, I wasn't trying to sneak up on you.

Hiei- Hn. Without being able to do something so simple as masking your energy you couldn't sneak up on me.. Or anyone else.

Troiyoku- Mask my.. energy?


* Hiei looks toward Troiyoku again, a bit incredulously.


Hiei- You honestly have no idea what that means?


* Troiyoku drops his eyes.


Troiyoku- Father never..

Hiei- Well, I'm not your Father.


* The younger male nods.


Troiyoku- So far.. I am grateful for that.

Hiei- How old are you, Boy? Troyo wasn't it?

Troiyoku- Troiyoku.. But you may call me Troyo if it pleases you.. I am just 20 years old.


* Hiei looks back away again.


Hiei- D---, you really are still just a boy.. And you're the oldest of the males?

Troiyoku- Hai, Master.


* Hiei sighs deeply then motions the young male to scoot over closer to him. Troiyoku obeys cautiously.


Hiei- Relax before I do hurt you.


* The boy chuckles at the statement, but obeys. Hiei looks toward the clearing when Lily and Celestia begin to trade heated, growling words. He notices Troiyoku grinning out of the corner of his eye so he just stays calm and observes as they continue talking.


Hiei- So you've known these.. women all your life?

Troiyoku- Most of them.


* Hiei smirks himself when the wolf hybrid soon finds herself being hung upside down by some vines. Troiyoku snorts with amusement.


Troiyoku- Hmm, Aunt Lily's been moodier than usual this past week.. She'll be coming into her heat cycle pretty soon.


* Hiei's eyes widen briefly, then he looks at Troiyoku. He is amazed that the seemingly naive youngster knows so much about this, but nothing about his own preservation in the form of defense.


Hiei- What?


* Troiyoku shrugs.


Troiyoku- It's the way they go every couple years.. Aunt Celestia, the one hanging upside down..

Hiei- The one that miscarried.

Troiyoku- Hai. She always comes in first. Then she's usually a month or so along by the time Mother comes in. Aunt Klarice's cycle starts only about a week later.. Then another couple of weeks and Aunt Lily hits her peak.. Then you'll have about a month's rest before Aunt D'Tara and Trinka come in.. They're only about a couple days apart.


* When Troiyoku grows quiet Hiei looks away and rubs the bridge of his nose a moment, trying to stave off the headache that threatens to start. The Koorime then looks back toward the women. The blonde-haired human sticks out like a sore thumb amongst them. Hiei takes note that she is positioned a bit apart from the others who are chuckling at the swinging, cursing Celestia.


Hiei- What about whitey? The human?


* Troiyoku looks toward the group and shrugs.


Troiyoku- Father was starting to get frustrated with her. He could never sense any heat cycle from her.


* Hiei nods and looks at Troiyoku.


Hiei- Hn. humans don't have.. heats.. like demons do.


* Troiyoku looks at Hiei curiously.


Troiyoku- Really? Well, as much as Father tried he could never get her pregnant.. If he wasn't so fond of all the trying he would have sold her off long ago.

Hiei- Humans can be much harder to catch.

Troiyoku- But they can be bred by demons?

Hiei- Hn.. It has happened.. occasionally.


* Troiyoku suddenly smiles eagerly.


Troiyoku- Hey! I bet you'll be able to catch her, Master!! You're a lot stronger than Father was..

Hiei- I don't plan on..!


* Hiei catches himself when he notices the females glancing up toward them. He also remembers that he's already 'caught' this boy's Mother. The demoness on his mind suddenly appears back into the clearing and sets the two water buckets down that she was carrying.


Sarista- Release Celestia this instant, Lily! Have you forgotten about her recent condition?!


* Hiei snorts when Sarista jackslaps the Kitsune vixen. Then the apparition remembers something Sarista told him.


Hiei- That one they're releasing..

Troiyoku- Aunt Celestia. You really need to learn their names.

Hiei- Whatever.. Your Mother said that she'll come back into her cycle because she lost this baby.

Troiyoku- It's a female thing. Since you killed her mate.. It'll be about a month at the most, though.. Probably similar to what happened to Aunt Lily during her last couple pregnancies.


* Hiei looks at Troiyoku again. Sarista glances up toward them, then settles down to relax beside Lily.


Hiei- Explain.


Troiyoku- Aunt Lily had an accident during her last pregnancy.. Well, Father said it was an accident.. They were both up here together.. arguing..


* The boy quiets a moment, then continues in a softer voice.


Troiyoku- (Quietly) We heard a scream, when we came out of the cave Lily was on the ground.. Father said she was clumsy and fell off.. She lost the whole litter, but Mother was able to heal her wounds enough for her to live.. She couldn't carry the last litter she had full term.. There were only two kits that she could feel, but she lost them both.

Hiei- And you don't believe your Father's.. story?


* Troiyoku swallows, then looks at Hiei.


Troiyoku- (Quietly) No.. But we never questioned anything Father did.. Mother thinks that Aunt Lily is either injured inside or Father was getting too old.. Personally, I think it was the latter.

Hiei- Why's that?


* Troiyoku motions down toward the group.


Troiyoku- Do you see any infants down there?


* Hiei looks back down toward them.


Hiei- No.

Troiyoku- The last group of babies born here was six years ago.. For some reason Father decided to sell all of them off.


* For several moments, Hiei's mind leaves his thoughts of trying to discern a way out of this and settles on everything Troiyoku has told him. Troiyoku distracts him by touching his arm.


Troiyoku- But, I think things will be a lot different with you.. I mean, you have caught Mother. I know that has placed her mind at ease.


* Hiei shrugs away from the boy's grasp and stands up.


Hiei- Your turn to keep watch, Boy. I do thank you for all of your babbling.. I need to go speak with your Mother again.

Troiyoku- Sir, can I say something more before you go?


* Hiei looks back down at him.


Hiei- Quickly.

Troiyoku- My brother, Gamaru.. He can be young and foolish.. He may be the one you'll have to watch for, though.


* Hiei reaches out and clonks Troiyoku lightly on the head.


Hiei- I'm not stupid when it comes to fighting, brat!.


* Troiyoku flinches slightly although he senses no real aggression to Hiei's action. The Koorime rolls his eyes and leaps down to the ground easily. He straightens, surveys the females who are now looking toward him quietly, then moves amongst them calmly. Sarista looks up when he comes to a stop beside her.


Hiei- You. Come with me.

Sarista- You've already caught..

Hiei- I know, d--- it! - We need to talk.


* Sarista glances toward Klarice.


Sarista- I'm sure Klarice would..

Hiei- Are you going to argue constantly with me now that you've got what you wanted?!


* Sarista sighs, then shakes her head, and stands. Hiei turns and starts away. Sarista shrugs at Klarice then walks off after Hiei.
