As soon as the three underworld detectives left, Koenma called Botan in to help calm Shizuru down. Once the deity of death took the distraught Shizuru from his office, Koenma pushed a button under his desk; revealing a hidden screen to fold up from a spot on his desk that looked like a desk mat.
A dialing tone and the words ‘Connecting’ appeared across the screen.
Koenma waited until a face appeared on the screen. The face was that of Denshi, however he looked different. He was not only taller looking, but had red high lights in his hair. His eyes had a tint of gold in them; looking as he did that night he revealed to Kuwabara only three weeks before.
“Ah Koenma. What do I owe this pleasure?” Denshi asks, with a mocking tone.
“Cut the crap Denshi. Our deal is done. I am cutting the test short. Don’t worry about our arrangement. I will still keep my end of the bargain as I promised. You are free to go just as soon as you release Kuwabara from that spell.”
“I can’t do that Koenma.” Denshi said with a look that seemed to be insane.
Koenma looked at his temporary associate in shock.
“What are you saying?” Koenma asks, narrowing his eyes at the demon.
“I’m saying I do not plan to let him go. I’m having too much fun with him…” Denshi says with a grin so evil and so filled with lust Koenma felt a chill go down his spine.
“Besides…I’m very…fond of the boy. I am going to even make him my mate…”
“Don’t be absurd! You know that is forbidden, especially between two males! I told you I will keep my promise and not send back to limbo for helping with this test. If you do anything of the sort to Kuwabara I will be forced to disregard the agreement and send you back to Limbo for another ten thousand years on top of your other sentence.” Koenma says.
Denshi grins.
“You see Koenma, here’s the thing…if you do that, my boys will give your dear sweet Kuwabara a very traumatic and painfully slow death. It will be so horrible he will end up wandering the earth as a restless sprit, never being able to join his family in the after life…I might be fond of him and want him as my mate; but that doesn’t mean I won’t use his life to save mine from an eternity in Hell.”
“Damn you Rando…” Koenma growls, using the demon’s true name.
“You wish Koenma…you screwed your self. You gave me, Rando, the demon whose soul purpose in life is to become stronger; a human who can control the most powerful weapon in all three worlds; a weapon that only comes once a century. You, figuratively speaking of course, damned your self.” Denshi grinned before cutting his connection with the deim-god.
Koenma started at the blank screen in shock.
He had screwed the entire world over paranoia of losing Kuwabara to the darkness as he had lost Sensui. In the end, he had created his own worse nightmare and sacrificed Kuwabara in the process.
“What the Hell have I done…?” Koenma says, covering his face with his hands.
