Seperation Anxiety and Texting
Wow, um... almost a month and a half, eh? And still, this chapter... Jeez, I actually got through writing it and then realized that it was way too cheesey, so if you think this was bad... you don't want to know how my original chapter went. So, yeah, I kind of want to think of this as just an 'update' to let you know what I'm doing, and that I am working on it, but it doesn't seem to be working. This will hopefully tide you all over until i can really think of a good chapter.
So, sorry, if you don't like it, I've been trying to broaden my horizons and work on other animes, like 'Loveless', which I just found out about, and became absolutely obsessed with as well as Trowa/Quatre, my favorite pairing for Gundam, even though I've never watched it... ever.

Chapter 10(?): Separation Anxiety and Texting
*****
“Shuuichi!” a deep voice boomed from just outside of the changing room.
“Uh-oh…” the model nearly gasped. He recognized that voice, and he was in deep shit.
“Who is that?”
“Oh no, I don’t want to go back,” Kurama jumped off of the smaller figure, and went to lock the door.
“What’s going on?” Hiei demanded.
“Unlock this door, Shuuichi!”
“Darn it, I can’t believe he found me.”
“Who is he?”
His question was answered when the door was broken from its frame, revealing a large overly muscled man.
“Shuuichi, it’s been a while,” he jeered at the much smaller beauty.
“Hiei, allow me to introduce you to, Toguro, my ex-body builder champion manager.”
The bass player just growled, standing in front of the redhead in attempt to protect him, but Kurama had wrapped his arms around him, and placed a soft kiss was placed on his cheek.
“Let’s get going, Shuuichi, you have many shoots that you have to make up for, and quite a few models to apologize to, not to mention the testy designers.”
“I love you,” he whispered before following the large man out the door.
“Kurama?” Hiei managed. He was so confused, and he didn’t know why. What did it matter if the redhead were to go back to the modeling career of his? This was all just some stupid bet that he had probably won because Kurama was being perverted.
“What the hell have you been eating?” he heard the manager growl, and knew that he could probably tell instantly that Kurama had actually eaten a real meal. He wanted to go hurt that damn manager for being the reason that Kurama was so under weight.
“Kurama…” Hiei couldn’t believe that he already missed the redhead, and he was still in sight. There was something nagging at his heart, pulling him into a crash that would leave him hurt.
“Yo, Hiei, who was the big guy, and why did he drag Kurama off with him, aren’t you jealous?”
“Shut it,” he growled staring at his feet. He couldn’t seem to move from his spot, and the pain in his chest was confusing him.
“Something is seriously wrong with Hiei,” Kuwabara ‘whispered’ to Yusuke, but he didn’t get the reaction he was hoping for from his short friend… actually he didn’t get any, “Yo, Hiei, really, man, are you okay?”
“…I’ll be fine…”
“Do you want to talk about it?” Yukina placed her hand on Hiei’s shoulder, which caused a small shiver down the short bassist, and the small delicate hand was slowly withdrawn, “Sorry.”
Hiei felt horrible. Not only had he watched his friend get dragged off, but he had not been expecting Yukina’s touch, so she had seen his hideous reaction of fear. He still wasn’t sure why he feared the timid touch, but he felt chills every time.
“Come on, man, we have to get ready for tonight’s show,” Yusuke draped an arm over Hiei’s shoulders and led him to the stage to create a distraction from Hiei’s latest heartbreak.
“Yeah man, let’s try out your latest song,” Kuwabara joined them under the bright lights.
*****
“Wow, Hiei,” Keiko clapped her hands together, “That song is amazing. What did you name it? ‘Web of Seduction’?”
“Hn.”
“You wrote it for Kurama, didn’t you?” Botan asked sadly.
“…” the bass player pretended not to hear the question and continued to tune his guitar.
“Hiei?” but Yukina placed a hand on Botan’s arm, shaking her head. She could easily see the wretched pain in Hiei’s eyes. “Oh…”
“Are you going to be okay?” Yusuke stepped in front of Hiei so the shorter man was forced to answer.
“…It’s not like he’s dead,” the youthful one sneered, and stormed of stage. He had no idea as to why he felt so lonely. He had just met the guy, not counting the one time in the alleyway.
Hiei sat in his dressing room, staring down at the outfit Kurama had picked out for him when they were in Chinatown. The band was scheduled to go on in just a few minutes now, and he felt so powerless. He had never felt that before. He was always strong, but now… there was nothing to keep him from falling, his strength had been depleted somehow.
“Hiei? Are you ready?”
“… Yeah… I guess I am.”
*****
The concert went fine, Hiei kept his eyes closed the entire time. He had to focus on the music and not the sound of the crowd around him. For some reason he could barely keep up with most of the songs. His heart wasn’t in any of it. He swallowed hard many times as he almost screwed up time and time again.
“Hiei, you alright?” Kuwabara asked concerned as they exited the stage, “I’ve never seen you work so hard just to play the song you wrote yourself.”
“…” the bass player remained silent as he went to clean up from all the sweat of being in the spot lights for almost an hour.
The shower did little to distract him from the pain pulling at his chest. He had no idea what was going on in his head. The damn redhead was nothing but a pain, right? He just clung to Hiei the way a snake’s skin does it wants to shed. It didn’t fit right, but for some reason… Hiei liked that second skin. It had given him warmth, not just physically, but mentally, Kurama had been there to help him relive the past he had been trying to burry for years now.
*****
It had been two days since the redhead was harshly pulled from Hiei’s life, and the group was finished with practice, and the club was going through some fine tuning while the band took a small break.
...Beep...Beep...Beep...
‘The hell?’ he heard his backpack making odd sounds… His cell phone? But the only people who knew the number had been on or behind stage for the past hour. He didn’t even know that he had text messaging.
‘Hi Hiei! I hope your concert went well. Sorry, I hope you don’t mind, but I found your phone, and copied the number. Please write me, or call me if you find the courage, anytime. I love you.’
Even in text messaging, Kurama used good grammar. Somehow, Hiei felt a little bit of relief.
*****
Over the next few days the two continued communication via texting, but having never used his, Hiei started out a little awkwardly.
‘Kurama…’
‘That’s all you can say?’
‘What am I supposed to say?’
‘How about… I miss you terribly, my beloved redhead?”
‘Beloved redhead?’
‘Beloved is fine.’
‘Ha, I have a concert to get to, so I’ll write you later…’
“Alright”
…..
‘How are you doing?’
‘I’m fine, you?’
‘Just a few shots for bathing suit ads…’
‘How were they?’
‘I could send you a few, as well as a few personal shots from my own collections.’
‘What?!’
‘I’m kidding, did I give you a heart attack or a hard on?’
‘Damn pervert’
‘Haha, I love you.’
‘I have practice. I’ll talk to you later’
‘I have to get to bed. Good night, Love’
…..
‘Yukina’s wedding is in a few weeks…’
‘Yes?’
‘I was wondering…’
‘Did you hit send on accident?’
‘No, you idiot, I’m trying to find the courage to ask you to her wedding’
‘As a date?’
‘Yes’
‘Of course!’
‘Okay… do you think that you can get Sat and Sun off?’
‘I should be able to reschedule a few things’
‘We can stay @ a hotel, and I’ll take you out to breakfast in the morning’
‘That’d be great!’
‘I’ll pick you up @ 8 on Sat’
‘You know where I am?’
‘I’ve been following the news on the infamous Kurama’
‘You’re so cute’
‘Shut up’
‘I’ll see you on Saturday… Beloved’
‘Hn.’
…..
‘Kurama, come outside’
The redhead bit his bottom lip as he took one last look in the mirror, fixing his bright green tie that matched his sparkling eyes, his hair was tied back in a loose ponytail.
“Hiei!” the redhead found a long black limousine waiting for him outside, “Wow, why so formal?”
“It’s… sort of like our first date, right?”
“You are so sweet.”
“Hn, guess we won’t need text messaging for today.”
“And you were getting so good at using the short cuts.”
“Shut up.”
“I’ve missed you,” Kurama's arms were about Hiei’s neck, “Although you never did get the confidence to call me.”
“Shut up,” Hiei growled again, “and get in the damn limo.”
“Mm,” he settled in the seat with amazing elegance and poise, but kept a hold of Hiei’s black tie, and pulled him into a hungry kiss as he laid out on the back seat.
“N,” Hiei groaned as he allowed himself to be taken in by Kurama's beauty and skillful mouth and tongue. He managed to close the door behind him as well as signal the driver to go without separating their starving mouths once.
“What about our age difference?” Kurama asked, playing with the dark hair that was still untamed.
“Fuck it.”
“Mm, that’s what I like to hear,” he wrapped his legs about the musician’s waist.
“Not now.”
“You look good in the tuxedo.”
“But I’d look better out of it?”
“You know me well.”
“I fear I do,” he held the beautiful face in both hands as he took command of the kiss.
Kurama placed a finger over Hiei’s lips, “This is the day for your sister to be saying ‘I do’.”
“I’m afraid so.”
“Kuwabara will take great care of Yukina. I can see it in his eyes. He truly loves her.”
“He’ll do a better job than I did.”
“Why do you fear her touch? You mentioned that you shivered whenever she touched you.”
“I don’t deserve her love…”
“…Oh, Hiei…” Kurama almost laughed.
“What is it that you find to be so funny?”
“You, you’re so… self-loathing… You have no idea as to how great you truly are. You are strong, brave, smart, and whether you’re willing to admit it or not; you are drop dead gorgeous.”
“Hn,” Hiei continued petting the pretty face under him, “We’ll be there in a few minutes.”
“Where? The wedding is here?”
“No, the airport isn’t too far, so we’ll take the next plane to New York City.”
“Okay,” he sat up, kissing the shorter man.
