Side Story 3

To my reviewers: You all rock! Thank you very much for letting me know what you think!

Everqueen: That joke was hysterical.

SweetMisery1: Yeah, that's why I put their little argument in that side story, because I tend to forget to have them use condoms so after "Hiei Learns to Cook" they just don't bother with them anymore... that's my theory on life... that's a really horrible theory...

shiorifoxiesmom: ...yeah...you'll see in the next chapter... let's just say there's a reason that I put a nice little side story before the next two chapters...

bob: Of course there's more drama. There's actually a whole other sequel, which includes the rest of the gang, mostly Yukina, but I'm still working a few details out, and trying to decide if it's worth posting. What do you guys think?

BlueUtopiah: Sorry, I forgot to put it in the story, but Kurama was supposed to think something like 'he's using every trick I used,' or something close to that saying that he was just copying what Kurama had done to him against the fridge.
What's funny is that I didn't even notice that 'Model and the Bass' was as popular as this story until you said that.

MultifacetedTune: Yeah, college crap... I understand completely...

Side Story 3: First Real Date

*****

Sunlight peeked through the old and broken shades, which awoke one of the two boys that were sleeping contently together on the small bed. Spring air was blowing in soft winds through the small crack of the window, which never fully closed.

The tall, lithe beauty sat up on his elbows as he looked over the seemingly younger boy lying in slumber next to him in the small bed. Reaching over, he softly brushed the boy’s bangs out of his eyes. “You’re absolutely breath taking,” he murmured to no one in particular before leaning in to kiss his child like cheek softly, but accidentally woke him in the process.

“You’re not so bad yourself,” he smirked, and his exotic ruby eyes opened slowly.

“Mm,” he cuddled closer. The two had yet to be very intimate. Other than their sleeping together, where they would only sleep, at night, the two had yet to go very far at all. It had been a little over a month since they first met, and only once had Hiei allowed him to fully kiss him, but other than that he only managed chaste brushes of lips.

“Why are you awake? It’s Saturday,” he draped an arm over Kurama's lower back, pulling him closer.

“I was just thinking,” he rolled onto his side so he was flush against the shorter boy.

“’Bout what?”

“You… me… us…”

“Hn?”

“I think that we should go on a date.”

“A date? What do you do on dates?”

“Mm, we can go for a walk in the park or hang out in a café, maybe make out under the stars,” he smiled seductively as he laid as close to his bedmate as possible, and twined their legs together.

“Hn, I’m too tired.”

“We can have a picnic by the beach.”

“Too sandy.”

“Hm, how about if we go to the movies?”

“You’ll just grope me the entire time.”

“Is there something wrong with that?”

“Hn,” a small smirk graced Hiei’s lips.

“Mm,” he watched as Hiei started to drift back to sleep.

“What are you thinking about?”

“I’m just so happy… I never thought that I could actually be happy, but here you are… my happiness.”

“You’re so cheesy.”

Kurama just laughed, burying his face in the side of Hiei’s neck, kissing the skin softly, “Maybe.”

“So what about our date?”

“Hm, how about… you and me… alone… deep in the forest under the thick trees, with a large blanket…”

“You’ll do the same as if we had gone to the movies.”

“Is that a complaint?”

“Not really,” he shrugged. For some reason he could stand Kurama's touches, in fact, he thrived off of them, he could feel his blood pumping under the skin where his fingers brushed. It was amazing, like he was actually alive for once. His heart pounded harder in his chest as the redhead leaned over to kiss him on the cheek and slowly left a trail to his ear, where he nibbled softly. “Mm…”

Kurama giggled softly, “How about we start our day with a couple omelets? After that we can go for a walk and then sneak into a movie and go to the café down the block for lunch.”

“Mm-hm, and after that?”

“A nice stroll in the park with a large blanket so we can find a place that’s a little more intimate for just the two of us.”

“Hm,” he curled his arm around Kurama's waist, and pulled closer so they were completely flush against one another.

“You’re getting really good at cuddling,” he giggled.

“I told you not to call it that.”

“You’re a cuddler,” he chuckled softly before slipping from the bed quickly, “deal with it.”

“Hn,” he watched his… was he his boyfriend? They were going on a date, so, he guessed that that made everything ‘official’. He actually had someone to call a boyfriend. It seemed rather odd for the fact that he never expected to even have a girlfriend when he thought he was straight. The cold air hit him as Kurama started to put on an over sized shirt.

“What’s wrong?” Kurama heard Hiei whimper slightly.

“Nothing,” he wrapped himself tighter into the blankets, but this only made Kurama giggle and lean in closer to kiss him on the cheek.

“You’re so cute.”

“Don’t call me that.”

“But it’s so true,” he straddled Hiei’s hips, continuing to splatter kisses all over Hiei’s face.

“Ngh,” Hiei groaned, “go make breakfast,” he pushed the redhead off of him.

“Hm,” Kurama chuckled into Hiei’s neck, “Fine.”

“I want bacon,” he mumbled as Kurama headed out the bedroom door.

“Of course, master,” Kurama laughed.

After eating the two were on their way to the movies when Kurama heard the music of the traveling carnival, and instantly pulled Hiei into it. The couple went on every kind of ride available. Kurama had even convinced Hiei to go on the carousel with him, but he couldn’t get Hiei anywhere near The Tunnel of Love.

“Come on, Hiei,” Kurama pulled at the shorter boy’s arm, “Please?”

“I like you, Kurama, but if I have to sit in a stupid plastic swan… I might just have to kill you out of sheer embarrassment.”

“Why me?”

“Because I don’t believe in suicide, and you’ll be the closet living thing to me at the time.”

“Oh, Hiei, you’re so mean sometimes,” he pouted, “We can make out the entire time.”

“We can do that at home.”

“Ooh! Let’s go!” he nearly jumped on to the spiky haired teen.

“Hn,” he laughed softly, “maybe later.”

“Mm, alright,” he pouted.

“Here,” he nodded to the game booths, “I’ll win you something to make up for it.”

Almost an hour later, Hiei and Kurama were walking out of the place with their arms completely full. The redhead giggled like a little girl as they left the carnival. Hiei had won him an oversized stuffed animal in the shape of a fox, a small, black dragon statue, a handful of goldfish, two bags of candy, and three different teddy bears.

“Yay! Thank you so much, Hiei. I didn’t know that you were so good at carnival games.”

“Hn,” Hiei shrugged.

“That was really sweet of you,” he leaned over to kiss Hiei’s child like cheek quickly. “I had a lot of fun.”

“Yeah,” he felt his cheeks burn, “me, too,” it was barely a whisper so only Kurama could just barely hear it.

“Mm,” he cuddled closer to the red fox, “He’s the same color as your eyes. I love him.”

“Hn, what about me?”

“I like you.”

“You had better like me more than that,” Hiei growled.

“Okay, I like you a lot. Better?”

“Jerk.”

“That’s what you get for not going through the Tunnel of Love with me,” he stuck out his tongue.

“Hn,” Hiei chuckled softly as they made their way back to the apartment to drop of the prizes.

“Mm,” Kurama settled on the couch with his fox, and Hiei sat on the other end, as far away as possible.

“Was that our date?” Hiei asked out of nowhere.

“Part of it,” he rested his head on Hiei’s lap, still holding onto the fox, “We can have our picnic in the park for a late lunch.”

“And that’s it.”

“Hm, we can spend the night under the stars… hm, do you think that we can get to the roof of this building?”

“Yes, it’s just up the stair case, why?”

“Let’s go,” he put the fox aside, and grabbed Hiei’s hand, leading him up to the stairs to the top, where he opened to the rubble covered roof. Other than the door to the stairs there was nothing to hinder a picnic. “This is great.”

“For what?” Hiei stood annoyed at having been dragged up three flights of stairs, his arms crossed tightly over his chest.

“For our picnic, silly. I’ll make something to eat, and we can just bring it, and it’ll be romantic, yes?”

“Sure, if that’s what you think,” he shrugged.

“That’s what I know,” he pulled Hiei close to his body, and lifted the boy’s chin and kissed him softly and slowly. The tightly crossed arms started to loosen as Kurama convinced his jaw to relax and let his tongue invade the small mouth contently. “Then again,” he murmured as they broke for air, “just doing this all night is fine.”

“Hn, you’d better feed me, don’t forget this is still my place, and I’m just letting you spend the night.”

“For the past month?” he raised an eyebrow, but continued their kiss from a moment ago.

After dinner, the two settled on a few thick blankets, piled so they couldn’t feel the gravel underneath, and watched the stars come out to twinkle down on them.

“Of course,” Hiei scowled at the clouding sky as drips of rain fell over the couple.

“What’s wrong, a little rain never hurts anyone.”

“There’s a storm coming.”

“How do you know? Are you psychic?” Kurama laughed.

“No, you idiot, I watched the weather forecast. OW!” he held his ear suddenly, glaring at the annoyed redhead.

“Don’t call me an idiot,” he warned before moving in to lick at the ear apologetically

“Hn, jerk,” he moved away, taking Kurama's play toy away in punishment.

“Mm,” Kurama pouted, following after the tender ear.

“We should get in,” Hiei commented as the rain started to fall harder on the two of them.

“But this is really nice,” Kurama murmured, he was curled up around half of Hiei’s body, continuing to nibble on Hiei’s ear and neck.

“You’re doing laundry,” he warned.

“That’s fine,” he turned Hiei’s cheek so they were face to face before kissing then tempting lips tenderly. The storm raged on around them, but neither one could see beyond the man in front of them.

*****

“Ah-choo!”

“You idiot,” Hiei growled before sniffling, “I can’t believe you got us sick.”

“I didn’t hear you complaining at the time.”

The two were cuddled together under the blankets of the small bed. At least they got to spend another day with just the two of them.
