Forgiveness

Author’s Note

Hi guys!

Kura here. Sorry I haven’t written in so long, but, well, I don’t know.

Anyways, I’m trying to get back into writing again, and this time, I’m determined to finish this story!

So wish me luck!

By the way, I have no idea what I’m writing this time. So if anything doesn't make sense, sorry. I just got really bored and frustrated with the lack of new KuramaxHiei fics.

That said, here’s my story, try not to cry too much and enjoy!

Kura

P.S. Kura is going to write a oneshot with Sasuke from Naruto, in heels! YAY!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

“I am sorry Hiei. I did not mean to lead you on.”

“Hn.”

“You know who I am. I am a youko. I cannot be chained down for long.”

“Hn.”

“You had to have known this was coming Hiei.”

“Hn.”

“You’re not making this any easier for either of us Hiei.”

Hiei remained silent as he stared at his lover, no, his ex-lover. It had been several years since the Sensui saga, and in that time, Kurama and Hiei had gotten together. Kurama had gone to college, and just last year had graduated.

Hiei had been at the graduation. They all had. Yusuke, Kuwabara, Yukina, Botan, Keiko and Koenma had been there, honoring the graduating collegiate.

Hiei had gotten a seat nearer to the front with Kurama’s mother and her new husband. Kurama had told them it was because Hiei was shorter, and couldn’t see above everyone else.

Truth was, Kurama had wanted his lover closer to the front to see what he was doing in the back. Kurama was touchy feely with a human girl next to him, all the while smirking at a furious Hiei.

Kurama knew it would infuriate Hiei, knew Hiei would get upset. Kurama continued his flirtations all the way up until he was announced to give the Valedictorian speech. Kurama, after he gave his speech, sat down and waited until graduation was over.

When it was over, Kurama went to see his friends, family and secret lover. No one knew that Kurama and Hiei were together. Not even Yusuke, or Koenma knew. Kurama kept his relationship with Hiei a deep secret.

Hiei was fine with that. It meant that neither of them would ever have to worry about being used as a weakness against each other. In a way, it was as if they weren’t in a relationship at all. It was as if they only met for the sex and there was no love between them.

Which wasn’t true at all. There had been love. Kurama had given as much as he could give, and Hiei had given what little he could give. Hiei had lived without love most of his life and when you lived a life without knowing love, you didn’t exactly know how to spread the love. Hiei did his best though. He tried to love Kurama back as best as he could when they had their moments alone.

However, now they were drifting apart. Ever since Kurama had graduated from College, things between him and the fox had changed.

The fox had slowly, steadily become colder towards him. When in private, they had had such passionate sex, and the fox would always be eager to show how much he cared for Hiei. The after sex cuddles had been great for Hiei as well. It had allowed Hiei to show what little love he knew how to show when they cuddled. Plus, Hiei had enjoyed the contact. Especially hearing Kurama’s words of mindless affection.

Hiei had always called them ‘useless words’, but now, as he watched Kurama, he realized just how valuable they were starting to become.

Kurama continued, undeterred by Hiei’s silence. Hiei rarely talked anyways.

“I told you from the start that we weren’t going to be together forever Hiei. I’m 24 in human terms and we’ve been together for six years. It’s time I moved on.

My mother is getting older and wishes that her Shuuichi gives her children and settled down.”

“Hn. That’s your decision fox. Always has been.” There was no emotion in Hiei’s voice, but inside, he was trembling. Hiei felt as if he’d been stabbed. He felt like he was getting the jagan implanted all over again. Only, there was nothing physical to show for it.

Kurama sighed and said “I’ve met a human woman Hiei. I love her. Well, as much as a demon can love.”

Hiei interrupted “More than me fox?” Ruby red orbs stared heatedly at Kurama, watching the emerald green eyes face him head on. “Do you love that…..ningen woman more than me?”

Kurama answered without hesitation. “Yes Hiei. I do. By the way, it’s not ningen it’s human, and her name’s Chiyoko. She’s a lovely human girl. You’d like her. She’s like Yukina.”

“Hn.” There was nothing else for Hiei to say. Kurama had made his feelings known, and Hiei could only listen as his ex-lover broke up with him. As Hiei watched Kurama, he knew that the Youko hadn’t aged. Kurama was too vain to age. He still looked the same as he did at 18. Young, supple, and attractive.

“Good-bye Hiei. I’ll make sure to invite you to our wedding.”

Hiei could only watch in utter cold numbness as Kurama walked away, leaving Hiei alone in the clearing in the park just a short twenty minute walk from Kurama’s home.

Abandoned.

Abandoned again was the first thought that came into Hiei’s mind, followed by thoughts of his past and the betrayals.

He was the Forbidden Child.

This was the third betrayal.

His first was by the ice bitch that was known as his mother and her race.

The second, Kurama betrayed him to Yusuke and turned him in.

The third and final betrayal. Kurama breaking up with him after endless reassurances that he wanted to be with Hiei.

At the start of their relationship, Hiei hadn’t trusted Kurama. He had asked Kurama multiple times within the first year if Kurama was really sure about being with Hiei, and being lovers. Hiei had known that Kurama had had many ningen women fawning over him, so Hiei had been sure that Kurama would have chosen one of them, and not him. However Kurama had insisted that he wanted Hiei, whispering endless promises that he loved Hiei.

For Hiei, the love had made Hiei feel wanted. It had made him feel that maybe, he wasn’t as worthless as the world had said he was. But now that love was gone, and Hiei was alone again.

Hiei was forced to watch as his ex-lover, the one that had successfully earned Hiei’s compassion, trust, desires and love, walk away. Hiei was left to stand there, watching the one person he truly cared about besides Yukina leave him.

Hiei was left with nothing again. Nothing except for Mukuro and serving under her command. When Kurama was out of sight, Hiei left, heading for the portal back to the Makai, intent on returning to Mukuro early from the vacation she had given him. Hiei would only come back for Yukina and never again would he come back for the fox.

Hiei’s heart had one huge crack in it. The walls he’d so carefully built to keep people out, had been melted thanks to Kurama, and again, thanks to Kurama, there was a huge crack in it. The crack hadn’t been that big in the beginning, but this third betrayal had lengthened and deepened the crack.

Hiei’s walls had been broken, and like his heart, it was now broken.

The walls came up again, shielding something that wasn’t there anymore.

Hiei leaped through the portal, the ache in his chest burning briefly before fading to nothing. Hiei was used to pain, and in time, he would get used to this one.
