Scene 1 ----------- Three Hours Later


* The dark Koorime is nearly to the village when he feels his jagan open. He comes to a skidding stop, stares off in the direction he was heading, then starts to turn to the side.


Demon- Hmm.. You must be the thieving rogue I've been hearing about.


* Even though the tall, lanky demon remains hidden behind a wide tree off to the side Hiei can 'see' him well enough with his jagan. He continues to keep his energy low, though.


Hiei- You accuse me.. but I'm not the one hiding.


* The tall, tawny colored male that's nearly twice HIei's height casually reveals himself and leans against the tree. He crosses his arms as he smirks down at Hiei.


Hiei- Now, explain yourself before I wipe that smirk off your face.

Demon- It's been voiced around about the rogues getting brave this season.. I know of one in particular that has already stolen and killed females from three different packs in this area.. All pregnant.

Hiei- It wasn't me.. I have my own d--- females to be..


* Hiei quiets when the guy laughs scornfully. The apparition can feel that this younger male is trying his best to put up this front of bravado so he remains calm.


Demon- You.. expect me to believe.. that you.. are an Alpha?


* Hiei crosses his arms as the male's laughter fades and his expression becomes more serious.


Demon- A few of those stolen, pregnant females were from my own village!


* Hiei keeps his stoic expression as he studies the demon. With slow deliberation, the dark tawny-colored demon of some obvious feline type moves up closer to Hiei and holds out a hand.


Demon- My name is Habataro.

Hiei- And why the h--- should I care?

Habataro- I was taught to introduce myself to the rogues I'm going to send into the next life.


* Hiei feels Habataro begin to surge out his aura to prove that he's in challenging mode. Although it's stronger than the Tiger demon that he'd fought, it makes little impression on Hiei.


Hiei- I'm only going to give you two chances to back off,.. Cat.

Habataro- Only.. two?

Hiei- That was your first.


* Now Hiei releases his own full energy. He remains still and calm, but the upper A classed male is pushed backward.


Habataro- Ahh.. Y-you're too.. strong.. to be a rogue..

Hiei- This is your second.


* Although he is young, Habataro has defended his pack for several years. Against many different types of demons. But he's never come across one in this region so powerful as this small, dark demon. Hiei watches the feline take a few steps backward. He 'hmphs' and starts to continue on his way until Habataro drops to his hands and knees. Hiei stops and looks back down at him puzzled.


Habataro- I give.. I'm yours.. Everything that's mine, all of myself..

Hiei- What the..?

Habataro- I challenged you, but I know that there's no way I can defeat you..

Hiei- You made a d--- mistake..

Habataro- Hai.. My life is yours, I concede to you, Master.


* Hiei pinches the bridge of his nose.


Hiei- Oh s---.. not again.


* Habataro looks up at Hiei cautiously.


Habataro- I understand if you desire to k-kill me.. Of course, I would prefer the alternative, but..


* Hiei looks back down at him.


Hiei- The alternative?

Habataro- Hai.. Claim me and my pack as yours.. I'll do whatever I have to if you'll spare them..

Hiei- You can't be.. serious..


* Habataro raises his greenish-yellow eyes to meet Hiei's with a most serious expression on his face.


Habataro- Dead serious.. This is the first battle I've lost since becoming the Alpha.. This is what my honor dictates that I..

Hiei- Oh shut the h--- up.


* Hiei rolls his eyes and looks toward the village that he can see in the distance.


Hiei- Look, I'm only passing through here to go to that village to get supplies for my own pack..

Habataro- Village? Y-you mean that village..?


* Habataro motions toward the village.


Hiei- Hn.

Habataro- You can.. see it?


* It is only just now that Habataro takes notice of the soft glow beneath Hiei's white bandana.


Habataro- Ahh.. You possess a jagan..

Hiei- Hn. It can turn your brain to mush. I'll spare you. Now go back to your own..


* Habataro grins and scrambles to his feet.


Habataro- Oh thank you, Master! I'll be more than glad to show you around your new village..!


* Hiei blinks back up at the taller male.


Hiei- Excuse me?

Habataro- That village is where my.. err.. your new pack lives, Master uhh..

Hiei- My name is Hiei.. I have no desire to take your..

Habataro- Yeah, uh.. You are new around here, huh?


* Habataro motions for Hiei to follow him.


Habataro- You're really an Alpha?

Hiei- Hn. I wouldn't exactly say I'm new to this region, but..

Habataro- You're new to your position.. Well, let me explain how this works, sir. I challenged you, you're stronger than I am, I concede.. You have a new pack to add to your own.


* Hiei shakes his head, but looks straight ahead toward the village they're heading to. He closes his jagan and listens to his instincts urging him to explore this new opportunity as they continue on down the dusty road.
