Jealous?

"Hey, Kurama?" Yusuke calls, swinging lazily in and out of the shade between two trees, one bare leg dangling over the side of the hammock.

"Mmm?" comes the noncommittal response, slightly muffled through layers of greenery. The half demon sighs, wishing - for just a moment - that he was at least wearing some shoes. He's pretty sure he could hit Kurama from here, aiming for the sound of his voice. And even with a miss, it would manage to covey the idea.

"Kurama," he repeats, more insistently this time, and he's rewarded with a barely audible huff and some rustling as the fox-demon extracts himself from the shrubbery.

"What is it, Yusuke?" Kurama asks, brushing slightly damp hair away from his face as he speaks, and for an instant, Yusuke is speechless.

Kurama is wearing relatively little, and the day's nigh-unbearable heat has dusted a light sheen of sweat over all his visible skin. His eyes are bright and his cheeks are flushed from exertion. He's dirty, sweaty, and irresistible, and Yusuke can't stop - not that he wants to - the thrill of desire that streaks through him.

"Yusuke," Kurama prompts, sounding just a little impatient, but there's laughter dancing in his green eyes, so Yusuke knows he's still safe.

"Aren't we done yet?" he almost whines, and Kurama rolls his eyes.

"Ten more minutes, Yusuke."

"That has to be the sixth time you've said that," the half-demon retorts indignantly. Kurama chuckles.

"And it probably would have been true if you hadn't insisted on pestering me after the first time," he responds calmly, and Yusuke snorts.

"Lies, all lies."

Kurama has the good grace to look slightly wounded before turning the teasing back onto the half-demon with a skill born from years of experience. "Why, Yusuke," he says, a familiar gleam in his eyes, "if I didn't know better, I'd think you were jealous."

"Am not," Yusuke replies instantly, turning his face away and crossing his arms sullenly over his bare chest. 'I am, I am! I'm jealous!' his body language screams, and Kurama's gaze softens slightly. He forgets, sometimes, that Yusuke is still a teenage boy, demon blood or not. And he has been spending an awful lot of time in his garden since school let out...

"All right, Yusuke," he relents, making his way over to the hammock and his pouting lover. "Tell you what. You let me finish tending to the gardenias, and in exchange, we'll go inside and I'll make it up to you."

Yusuke looks up just in time to catch that look in Kurama's eyes - the one that's spine-tingling in all the right ways - before the fox-demon leans over to engage him in what may be the hottest, sloppiest, dirtiest kiss he could have ever imagined, complete with teeth and tongue and low, throaty sounds that ought to be outlawed, they're so fucking hot.

And then the fox-demon is gone, sauntering back to his plants and ticking off a steady count in his head as his lover pants harshly behind him. He hasn't gotten anywhere remotely close to five when Yusuke clumsily extracts himself from the hammock. Kurama half-turns to shoot a sultry glance back at the half-demon, putting the final nail in the coffin.

"I'll just...wait for you in the bedroom, then," Yusuke manages in a slightly strangled voice before he bolts desperately for the house, door swinging behind him.

Kurama chuckles and resumes his gardening to the increasingly desperate gasps and moans drifting through the summer heat, wondering if it's fair to turn Yusuke's libido against him, but by the time the noises climax into an achingly familiar cry of passion, he is already up and moving to join his obviously needy lover.

And afterward, when he's lying atop Yusuke's sturdy chest, rising and falling gently with each breath the half-demon takes, he realizes that he never did actually get around to his gardenias, and he laughs softly, shaking his head when Yusuke makes a lazy, curious noise.

Because given the choice between all the gardenias in the world and just one peaceful moment like this with his half-demon lover, Kurama doesn't even have to think.
