Lucifer

This is a story dealing with a common myth, the myth of hell. Just to clear up any confusions, i will be referring to the seven layers of hell as described in Dante's Inferno. The only one that i will go into detail about will be the last layer, the layer with ice so cold it burns. According to Dante's Inferno, this is the level where the Devil actually exists, chained and mostly frozen, but constantly chewing on 3 heads, the heads of Judas, the betraying follower of Jesus, and two others(i forgot). However, for the purpose of my story, the only truth of the novel is in the 7 layers, not about the devil itself. This story will go against some of what the bible says about Jesus. Don't like it, don't read it. It's not too much. The pairings in this story will either be Lucifer/Hiei or Lucifer Kurama.

A woman sat alone in an ice realm. She sighed and thought of the stupidity of man. Many times she had tried to stop martyrs. Those were the ones that annoyed her the most. The men who would die for a cause. Many thought her to be jealous, full of temptation, and just plain evil. She looked around her deserted ice realm. She knew that beyond her realm, other realms existed. In this particular area, 6. For simplicity sake of the ningens, the most common number was one. The humans knew well her realm and feared it. The humans thought it to be a realm of fire and burning and torture. The most common name for her realm was Hell.

Kurama sat in church listening to the preacher go on about the Holy Son Why Kurama was here, it was only for the love of his mother. He had been in the human realm some 2000 years ago and had seen the “messiah” being crucified. There was nothing holy about him. Yes he died for what he believed in, but he died. He had so much influence over the people. Honestly he had more to live for. He was just a martyr It was amazing that of all the martyrs, he was the most remembered. Then again, this messiah was the reason for several Holy Wars.
Kurama snapped out of his musings when his mother got up for holy communion. He then resigned himself to sitting through the other half of church.
After Church, his mother got into the car and drove home. She offered to take Kurama, but he wanted to walk. He was tempted to walk to Yusuke's and see if the boy was home.

The woman smiled ruefully. At least there were some people who did not believe in the “holy” martyr One in particular caught her interest. A red-haired male walking alone, deep in thought. From the looks of it his thoughts might even rival her own, which was saying something! She hadn't been idle in her many years of existence.
She hadn't been in the human realm for a long time. Perhaps a visit was overdue. Every time she had been in the human realm, something had gone wrong. She was a very attractive person, and that always caused trouble. Long ago she had learned to put an illusion around herself to appear as a male, that helped considerably. She changed into her male form and started her long trek to the human realm.
She was a cursed being. She didn't believe in God, but obviously something kept her from moving on into what many people called the next big adventure, death. Every time she was injured past a certain point, she would fall unconscious and wake up back in her ice world that was hell.

Kurama chuckled to himself. Some humans were so thick.. Killing themselves for a cause!?! A cause. He could understand why people would kill themselves for a loved person, but not a cause. Especially when it was a cause of peace that caused countless wars.
He stopped by Yusuke's house only o ind that the boy was at the arcade. Kurama left somewhat disappointed and started toward home.
On the way, he saw a young man. The man caught his attention by his demon-ish aura, the illusion over him, and the fact that he was staring straight at Kurama. Kurama approached him and smiled warmly. He was on his guard and feeling the plants near him and getting ready to fight if the man tried anything
The man smiled at Kurama and motioned towards his hair.

“Very beautiful hair. It becomes you.” the man said in a voice dripping with the illusion. His voice, nonetheless, was deep and sounded like music to Kurama's ears. Kurama relaxed his guard. Surely a man with such a peaceful voice would mean him no harm.

“Thank you.” Kurama replied smoothly in return. “Most people think that i dye it.”

'Very interesting mind indeed. Most people would fall to puddy at that voice.' the “man” thought. But the red haired man was still becoming lax. His muscles were loosening and his guard slipping.

As the man reached out for the redhead, he felt a sudden absence. The arm was gone. A short man with a drawn sword stood between him and the redhead. The redhead seemed to have snapped back to reality when the short man came.

The red head spoke in a cold voice now. Not at all friendly. “Who are you and what do you want?”

The man winced at the pain in his arm. Why was it that he could die and live again, but could still feel pain?

“My name is Lucifer. I want company, not a fight. I have not come prepared for a fight.” He spoke, still in the deep voice. However the voice seemed to no longer have the power to make people calm and drowsy. 'The short man must have blocked my ability. The both seem different, gifted.'

The small man smirked making chills run up Lucifer's spine. “Congratulations. You have found 2 who don't need nor want your company. Goodbye.” The man made a quick movement with the sword and cut Lucifer in half. Lucifer only remembered black.

Kurama watched the body burn... with ice? The moment Lucifer died, he burst into icy flames, giving no clue as to his actual identity. Kurama looked at Hiei. Since when could Hiei cause ice to burn? Hiei looked just as confused as him. The body shrunk till none remained.

Kurama and Hiei started back for Kurama's house both in silent thought. Neither could explain the fire. At Kurama's house, Hiei jumped into a tree and Kurama went into his house. Both went to bed early.

Lucifer opened her eyes. She had both arms but a light scratch on her left arm and across her torso where she had been cut by that man. A slight mischief awoke in her. Perhaps she could play with them. They had killed her so she would cause some mischief with them.

She would not be caught unprepared this next time. By the entrance of her level of hell, she found her gear. A shirt and pants that no sword could scratch, no fire could burn, and no energy blast could destroy. It was specially crafted for the use of hand to hand combat. Her weapon was a small dagger to fend off most attacks.

As she walked back to the human world, she smiled and changed back into her male form.
