Once Bitten

Miki Yamada was skipping gym again and typing in his computer. He was working on a

facilities.” He took a small card from a table and wrote down the address to Genkai’s temple. “Here…”

Miki blinked “Thank you…so very much.” He smiled a little behind his long bangs before

lying down; the IV fed a steady stream of O negative into his vein.

“Are you tired?” Shuichi asked gently.

Miki nodded, he looked pale and he trembled a little when he breathed.

Shuichi began to jot something down on Miki’s chart. ‘Fatigue due to extensive blood loss.’

He sighed a little and closed the chart.

“Wha…?” Miki looked up at Shuichi with tired eyes. “What’s wrong with me?”

Shuichi smiled gently “It’s ok…you just need some rest.” He patted Miki’s head and noticed

the boy’s vivid blue eyes through the long black bangs. “Amazing…” he thought.

After a long day of diagnosing ailments Kurama returned home to his apartment and looked in

only to see the adorable glaring Koorime who would visit very often. “Hey Hiei…” Kurama greeted

him with a tired sigh.

“That job is sucking the life out of you.” Hiei said and pulled the hair tie out of Kurama’s long

rose-red hair.

“I love my job Hiei…it’s not all that terrible.” He said and laughed lightly. “I’m just tired

because I can’t stop worrying about a vampirism victim that came in today.” he shook out his

red locks and sighed. “In all the cases I’ve seen…he’s the only survivor.”

Hiei blinked, “You’re worried he may turn?” his crimson eyes looked deep into Kurama’s.

“That…and I think whoever bit him will come back for him.”

Hiei led Kurama into the bedroom where they lay down together. “Forget about him.” he kissed Kurama

gently on the lips and pulled him close.

“Mmmh…” Kurama moaned. “I’m so lucky that I have you.” He laced his fingers through Hiei’s soft spiky hair.

Miki tried to stay silent but his mouth moved unconsciously. “…Wh…why did you bite me?” were the

words that passed his lips.

The vamp moved close and leaned over the bed. “I did it out of hunger…” The tall dark man grinned showing

a pair of long sharp fangs.

Miki’s heart raced as fear caught him.

“…and soon you will too, for you have survived my bite.” The vamp took Miki into a deep kiss and bit his

own lip to forcefully feed the boy his blood.

“Mmmh” Miki grabbed at the starchy hospital sheets and tried to get away but he was still far too weak.

The vamp stood up and licked his lip. “Have a marvelous awakening my son.” He said as he faded off

into the shadows.

Poor Miki gagged as he sobbed into his pillow. His body ached and he writhed feeling something in him
