My Light

Here is the 2nd darker version to No Way Out. I hope this one will be better than the first (which sucked.) As I stated in the other one I do not know how to do song-fics. So if you do rate please review and tell me what I did wrong or what you didn’t like so that I can do better on the next one if this is bad, if not I will settle for this one. Thank you for your time and your input is MOST welcome so please review.

My Light: 2nd (Darker) version to No Way Out

A young girl about the age of 15 to 16 was sitting on the wall looking for her appointed targets. Her eyes blank and emotionless she thought back. “I want you to kill Urameshi Yusuke and his friends…all of them.” She closed her clear blank eyes and a single tear silently escaped one of them to trail down her cheek.

(Everywhere I turn I hurt someone)

She found her targets in a nearby park. She moved in for the kill in a single fluid motion that came from years of practice. She drew her twin swords and took down the orange haired boy with a stab to the chest. Evading the attacks from the other two with quick precise movements she moved in and out of their range taking them piece-by-piece tears starting to run down her cheeks as she did so.

(But there’s nothing I can say to change the things I’ve done)

She was moving in for the kill on the black haired boy with the Rei-gun attack when the fourth and final member of the team came in to help them. When she saw his face she stopped dead in her tracks opening herself for attack. The fast one with the sword took advantage of this and took a swing at her, one she quickly evaded but not before he cut away her half-mask leaving a thin trail of blood on her right cheek.

(Of all the things I hid from you I cannot hide the shame)

As the piece of cloth fell away the new boy’s eyes widened in horror to see who it was that was trying to kill his friends…it was Tya, his best friend from when they were small. Why? How could she do this to him? He remembered back to when they were small, when she was smiling and laughing, when she was…happy. Then he remembered when that smile disappeared and so did she. That was the last time he saw her. It was six years ago at her family’s funeral, it was raining and she was walking away from him. He tried to call her to come back but it was like his voice never reached her.

Tya stood there eyes wide with horror. She looked at her friend and saw the look of hurt and disbelief in his eyes. Tears began to run down her cheeks in rivers. “Why?” she heard him ask in a voice filled with pain at her betrayal. Her swords dropped to the ground with a dull thud from numb fingers. She lifted her hands up to her face her eyes beginning to show their true colour, eyes still wide staring at hands covered in blood.

(And I pray someone, something will come to take away the pain)

She drew her hands to her chest clenching her bloody shirt tightly in the both of her fists, her face twisted in grief, sorrow, pain and immense guilt. Suddenly she cried out grabbing her head her mind filling with images of darkness, pain and death.

(There’s no way out of this dark place)

She saw herself chained and covered in blood surrounded by pain and death, her eyes blank with a malicious grin on her lips as she licked the blood from her fingers.

(No hope, no future)

“NO!” she cried out trying to deny the image. The harder she tried the more the dark images would come. She was surrounded by death; everywhere she turned there were bodies her twin swords in hand covered in blood. It was raining down blood she was smiling and laughing her head lifted letting the bloody rain run down her face.

(I know I can’t be free)

The colour left her eyes once more leaving them clear and emotionless. She reached out her hands and picked up her discarded swords. She got up her movement devoid of self-control. For one brief moment her eyes regained a bit of their colour, however just long enough for her to say three words, “Shuichi forgive me.” Shuichi looked up in time to her coming at him with her swords drawn. “Tya! No!” He cried jumping out of the way taking his friend’s body with him.

(But I can’t see another way)

Hiei jumped in diverting Tya’s attention long enough for Shuichi to get Kuwabara’s body to a safe place. He saw Hiei about to kill her and he cried out, “Hiei No!!” Hiei stopped his swing and jumped away looking at him confused. He just looked at him his eyes filled with pain and sorrow. “You are sure?” Hiei asked understanding the look his friend gave him. Shuichi just nodded and prepared himself for the battle to come.

(I can’t face another day)

As they fought Shuichi could see tears running down Tya’s face but her face and eyes remained completely emotionless. He knew what he had to do but he didn’t know if he could bring himself to do it. So they continued to fight with Hiei and Yusuke waiting on the sidelines for the word. They both knew how much this battle pained their friend and teammate.

(Tell me where, did I go wrong)

Tya fought violently for control of her body but she was slowly loosing the battle. She could see everything she was doing and yet unable to do anything about it. Just then the memory of how all this started flooded her mind…and she silently cried.

(Everyone I loved, they’re all gone)

She was standing in the livening area her eyes widened in horror. The bodies of her mother, father, and baby brother were lying on the floor in a pool of blood. He was there standing over their bodies with a bloody knife in his hands. He looked up at her, “It’s all your fault they died Tya. If only you had come with me when I told you to…maybe then they would still be alive.” He said as he casually cleaned the blood from his blade.

(I’d do everything so differently but I can’t turn back the time)

*I should have killed him right then and there…but I was too weak. I wasn’t strong enough. * She silently cried as she struggled harder.

(There’s no shelter from the storm inside of me)

As she struggled the world outside began to mirror her internal turmoil. The rain began to pour down and lightning began to flash illuminating their battle. And still Tya fought, one on the inside and one on the out…and she was steadily loosing them both.

(There’s no way out of this dark place)

The harder Tya fought the darker the images that flooded her mind became. However this time the bodies were not faceless, this time it was Shuichi and his friends. She was standing over their bodies covered in their blood wearing a malicious smile with eyes clear and emotionless.

(No hope, no future)

Tya cried out in silent denial but the images still came and the darkness becoming thicker and darker the harder she struggled.

(I know I can’t be free)

She saw herself chained standing on a pile of bodies her head lifted towards the dark sky.

(But I can’t see another way)

There is no way out. She will never be free. Only in death will she ever be free. She just prayed that Shuichi had the heart to set her free.

(I can’t face another day)

If he didn’t she would. She knew he would never forgive her, she could never forgive herself. Finally as she fought she felt the darkness begin to grow weaker and knew the chance she had been waiting for was soon to come. Every time she cut Shuichi it was like a cut on her heart. It took her piece-by-piece and she cried and fought all the harder. Suddenly something she heard penetrated the fog that was slowly clouding her mind. They were coming from Shuichi and what she heard made her breath catch in her throat and her tears of pain and sorrow turn into tears of joy and then she knew he would never set her free, for he would never have the heart.

(I can’t believe the words I hear)

“I forgive you Tya. I know this is not you. You would never willingly do this. I can feel the pain in your heart. I see it in the tears you cry.” Tya reached her hand up and touched her cheek. Her hand came away wet. “I believe in you Tya, I could never blame you. I will always love you.”

(It’s like an answer to a prayer)

Tya’s eyes widened in disbelief. Did he just say that he loved her? She couldn’t believe it. She knew now with all certainty that he would never be able to take her life that she would have to find a way of doing it herself.

(When I look around I see)

With the words he spoke her mind began to clear and fresh lighter images began to replace the darker ones.

(This place, this time, this friend of mine)

The sun was shining and everyone was smiling and laughing, Shuichi and his friends.

(I know it’s hard but you found some how to look into your heart and to forgive me now)

He looked up and smiled at her reaching out his hand.

(You’ve given me the strength to see just where my journey ends)

She opened her eyes; she knew what she had to do. She looked up at Shuichi and her heart ached. She knew how much pain this would cause him but it could not be helped, it had to be done. This had to end right here, right now. Shuichi’s forgiveness gave her the strength to end this.

(You’ve given me the strength to carry on)

The darkness that had control of her body was steadily weakening. She still fought Shuichi but she was able to avoid cutting him…and she waited for the right moment.

(I see the path from this dark place)

As she fought a small light began to shine through the darkness that enveloped her and she saw her freedom on the other side.

(I see my future)

She smiled and a small tear trickled down her cheek as she saw another image of the possible future. Seeing this she knew she would be free…and live.

(Your forgiveness has set me free)

Shuichi’s forgiveness and love was the light in the darkness and it gave her the strength to fight.

(Oh and I can see another way)

She was so focused inward that she did not notice the attack that was coming her way until it was too late.

(I can face another day)

She looked up in time to see it hit and heard Shuichi cry out in horror. “Tya!”

(I see the path, I can see the path)

She cried out in pain dropping her swords she dropped to her knees. She heard Shuichi’s cry but saw nothing and before she fell to the ground she felt his strong arms encircle her cradling her in his arms. “Tya, why?” He cried placing his hand on her stomach trying to stop the bleeding.

(I see my future)

She looked up into his beautiful eyes. “I’m sorry Shuichi, I didn’t notice until it was too late. Maybe it is for the best.” She said smiling weakly.

(I see the path from this dark place)

“No Tya. No it’s not.” He cried. She reached up her bloodstained hand and gently touched his cheek smiling. Shuichi’s light was steadily dissipating the darkness, the colour was returning to her eyes which were slowly fading.

(I see the path, I can see the path)

She smiled weakly. “Thank you Shuichi,” She said as she caressed his lips with the tip of her finger. “For being my light.” She closed her eyes still smiling her hand falling to the ground.

(I see my future)

Tya woke up with a start sitting bolt up right in bed. Lifting her hands to her face she waited for her heart beat to slow. She glanced over to her right to see her light lying next to her still wrapped comfortably in sleep. She smiled reaching out her hand she caressed some stray strands of fiery red hair from his beautiful face. Slowly his eyes opened and he smiled up at her placing his warm hand on her growing belly. She returned his smile placing her hand on top of his. Laying back down she cuddled up next to him and her smile deepened when he wrapped his strong arms around her and let the peacefulness of his presence lull her back to sleep.
