First chapter

The car came to an erupt stop.

"We're there!" Kurama said in excitement. Hiei and Yusuke hauled out of the car before the
redhead had finished his sentence. Part of the reason was that the vehicle was hot as a sauna, and
the rest was that they'd been crammed against one another on the backseat with their entire luggage.
The air felt beautifully cool against their skin as all four boys stepped out of the stuffy car. Yusuke
needed a moment to compose himself, and glanced over to the glittering lake of the camping place.

Being flush against Hiei for four hours of the drive, without being able to really touch, or kiss him.
The teen couldn't remember the last time he had felt so uncomfortable, so tense. He stole a glance
at the jaganshi who was dusting his pants off, facing away from the group. It must've been hard on
his partner as well. And this week of camping with Kazuma and Kurama wouldn't be any easier.

The kitsune turned to the others with a smile on his face.

"Isn't this spot perfect? Just as I remembered. I don't think we could've picked a better day, either.
The air is like bird milk. I'm going to the information booth to sign us in, you guys find a spot for
us to put the tents on later." The fox demon started walking up the low hill to the few wooden
cabins. Kuwabara sighed and stretched hugely, turning to Yusuke.

"Those trees over there look good enough for me. I need to cool off for a while," he grumbled.

"Me too," Yusuke said and walked to the back of the car, opening the trunk. He pulled out a few
beers from the cool bag, knowing Hiei didn't care much for beer. Kazuma's face brightened up and
he caught the can Urameshi threw him.

"Where's the shrimp?" Kuwa asked, glancing around. Yusuke's gaze dropped to the beach a bit
lower down by the lake. Hiei was walking ankle-deep in the water, shoes on the sand and pants
slightly rolled up. Kazuma looked down, too, and laughed.

"He don't waste time!" he chuckled and walked to a lonely pine tree close to the car, sitting down in
the delightful, cool shade, and popped his can open, taking a long sip. Yusuke accompanied his old
school friend. He was much more eager to take a refreshing swim, but it probably wasn't such a
good idea, with Hiei shirtless and sweaty by the water…

Kuwabara had lay down and yawned, scratching his flat belly.

"Shuichi did pick a pretty nice place," he mumbled, resting his left wrist over his eyes.

"Mmm," Yusuke agreed, taking a long sip of his cold beverage. There were a few children playing
in the water a while further, their laughter echoing in the still noon air. Yusuke's eyes narrowed
agains the blazing sun as he gazed down at his lover's silhouette. The koorime had gone deeper in
the water, and he was now wet to his knees. He seemed to be pondering whether or not to take a
swim. Yusuke's lips caressed the cold surface of his can absent-mindedly.

He had completely forgotten his promise to go camping with Kurama this week, and since he hadn't
been able to quickly enough come up with a worthy excuse not to go, he was left without a choice.
And Hiei had come along as well, not so much because Kurama had invited him, but because the
fire demon had no idea what to do for an entire week apart from his new lover.

The detective noticed in humiliation he was kissing his can, and quickly put it down. He wasn't
forced to daydream often. There had been no need to, since Hiei had practically moved in with him
a few months back. And God, had those months rushed by quickly! They hadn't spent one night
apart after the day their feelings finally came in the open. And now they had to go back to their old
ways for seven long days and even longer nights, with almost no warning.

Urameshi groaned and shifted uncomfortably. It was so hot his clothes were clinging to his skin in
every place imaginable, and Kazuma seemed to be snoozing lightly. He was wearing swimming
trunks under his clothes. Maybe he could take a quick dip in the water? Kurama would stay a while
by the authorities up the hill. Pushing his can down in the grass so it wouldn't tip over, Yusuke got
up.

Down by the lake, Hiei was walking around the clear, cool water, staring at his feet and the young
trouts swimming too close for their own safety. The campers must've fed them. The demon looked
up and wiped a trickle of sweat rolling down his neck. He didn't feel like walking all the way to the
car to get his swimming trunks; he just didn't want to leave the water, it felt so good. He wetted his
lips quickly and pressed his gaze, blushing slightly.

He did not expect it to hit him like this. They had only pretended for one day. Half a day, really.
Being forced to lean against his lover's warm, firm side and shoulder, hearing his breathing so close
to him… Hiei splashed some cold water on his face, shivers running down his spine. Maybe he
should just go in the water like this, let it cool his thoughts of a bit.

"Aren't you going in?" came a low, familiar voice. The demon started and glanced over his
shoulder, immediately wishing he hadn't. Yusuke had gotten rid of his pants, his lean, seductive
hips being adorned by black, shiny trunks, slick against his skin like oil. The detective rolled the
damp fabric up his broad, tanned abdomen and chest, making Hiei clear his throat weakly. The shirt
came off; black ruffled bangs falling in dark, mischievously glinting eyes.

"How can you stand this?" Yusuke murmured, and for a while Hiei's mind was a stunned question
mark as the taller man came closer. "It's way too hot," the human murmured, sending a shiver down
Hiei's spine. The jaganshi turned around, rubbing his forehead in frustration.

"I don't feel like leaving the water," he grunted.

"So? Nobody's around yet, go swimming in your underwear." Hiei stared at the glistening surface
of the lake, a bit annoyed. Yusuke should've known better than to come here and almost get naked
in front of him. No matter what the weather. He heard the other man walk past him, and looked up.
How could anyone be so fine? The sun was high in the sky, bronzing Yusuke's broad shoulders and
back as he bent down to splash some water on his face and neck. Hiei's eyes dropped on the round,
firm ass right on display, and he looked away, his cheeks heating up.

Urameshi straightened up, a trail of water trickling down his neck, rolling down between his
shoulder blades and disappearing under his trunks. Hiei felt the familiar heat and tension building in
his loins, and shifted his weight nervously. Suddenly there was a splash as the human dove in,
disappearing for a second. Yusuke's head popped up a while further, hands flicking his hair back
from his eyes.

"Come on, it feels amazing, get in!" he said, "We've got time before Kurama gets on our case!"
Hiei stared at the water and his lover longingly. He glanced up to the tree Kazuma was lying under.
The redhead was completely still, probably napping, his back turned to the lake. Kurama was
nowhere in sight. He had been gone longer than they expected. The fire apparition walked on the
sand and got up on the flimsy, wooden dock. He let his pants drop and walked to the end of it.
Yusuke had swum closer. Suddenly Hiei hesitated; not the water, but the secretive smile on his
love's face. Yusuke floated back.

"Well?" he teased. Hiei's brows drew together and he straightened up, with the little height he had.
Yusuke splashed water on him, making him start. The human laughed at the annoyed expression on
the demon's face. He splashed more water on him, making Hiei twitch and squirm.

"Cut it out you fool!" Hiei yelled furiously, which only intensified the detective's glee and
splashing. Suddenly the short man jumped in the water to make the other male's threats empty. His
head popping to the surface, Hiei shook it once, his bangs glued to his forehead and the waterproof
scarf on it. Yusuke swam closer to a scowling koorime.

"Got ya in," he murmured approvingly.

"I'm not too happy about this situation, Urameshi," Hiei informed coolly. Yusuke's smile died, and
the look in his hazel eyes became dark and dreamy.

"Me neither. Believe me," he murmured, and Hiei was overwhelmed by a sudden urge to feel him
close, taste his lips. He swam away on his back, trying to push those needs away. He wished there
were at least a few clouds for him to look at. Suddenly he felt something wrap around his ankle, and
frowned.

"What are you doing, detective?" he snapped as his body was pulled along the surface in a different
direction. His balance waved for a few seconds as he was straightened and saw Yusuke and the end
of the dock. They were hidden. Behind the dock. Away from Kazuma's eyes. Hiei's cheeks heated
up and he tensed at Yusuke's strong, warm arms pulling him close.

"Detective," he tried to resist, but then his lips were pressed against another pair, and he lost all
coherence. Familiar teeth nipped at soft, warm flesh, drawing low sighs from the demon. Their
tongues touched lightly, sending them into recklessness. Hiei's hands slid up into black, slick hair
and pulled, tugged hard, bringing Yusuke's face and mouth closer, so very close. Their tongues
delving in and around one another, hands roaming and squeezing blindly, searching for a spot to
make the other moan and shiver.

Yusuke pulled the lithe male close, flush against his hard, tense body, firm thighs pressing against
his sides. It drove him insane, and he kissed his lover hard, not caring about anything anymore. The
friction was building and heating up, strong hands grinding Hiei's hips against Yusuke's, the water
around them swaying and splashing against bare skin. Hiei's pressed his forehead on the tanned,
radiating collarbone, panting hard. He could feel Yusuke so close, so thick and hard against him,
nothing but thin, soaked fabric between.

"Detective," he panted, grinding harder, blindly, Yusuke's teeth nipping and lips suckling his neck
hungrily.

"Want you so much," the human groaned, his hand sliding into his lover's trunks, yanking a hoarse
groan from the smaller male. The dock began to wail and shake. Lidded, hazy eyes widened in
confusion. The dock was pounding and shaking, looking like it could fall apart any second.

"WATCH OUT, HERE COMES THE BOOOOMB!!" came a mighty scream, and then a huge
splash and wave against them, blinding their sights. After a few seconds, Kuwabara's head
appeared in front of them, laughing.

"There you are! I was wondering since I didn't see you guys anywhere!" he panted. Yusuke and
Hiei quickly splashed water on their heated, flushed faces; grateful their states weren't visible to
their friend.

"We we're having a contest, who can keep their head under water longer," came Yusuke's quick
lie, his voice still shaky and hoarse. Kazuma snorted.

"Come on, that's for kids," he scoffed.

"Not when the weather's like this," Yusuke said and dove for a second.

"True," Kuwa mused and swam on his back. Hiei turned away, red with embarrassment. He
couldn't believe they had been so close to being caught, and there wasn't even a full day behind
them yet. He'd have to be more careful from now on. Not let the detective lure him in like a devious
spider. The cool water, shock and presence of Kazuma had quickly quenched his flame, at least for
now.

"Oh great, just when I got in," Kuwabara muttered, drawing the other boy's attention to the hill,
where he was looking at. Kurama waved at them, which wasn't easy because his hands were full.
The human redhead rolled his eyes and approached the sand.

"Better get going then," he sighed, "I'm starving, anyways." He got up and started walking up the
hill. Apparently he had left his clothes under the tree. Yusuke got up and waited for Hiei, who cast
him a dark look from under his brows.

"This is all your fault," he snarled. Yusuke's gaze dropped down Hiei's wet, almost naked frame
appreciatively.

"Do you know you're white boxers become completely transparent when wet?" he murmured. Ruby
eyes widened in shock and rage, and he collected his clothes quickly from the dock, strutting up the
hill. He would not be fooled again.
