Welcome all! Here it is, another story formed by the collaboration of Ghost and me. Hope everyone enjoys! No flaming, you have ample warnings of ratings and pairings. As well as deaths.
The youko gave a sigh as he stared out the window before him. Work was dull, especially when he couldn’t get his mind off a certain S-class. Yusuke Urameshi always seemed to be at the forefront of his mind every waking moment. It seemed that Yusuke Urameshi was straight, much to Kurama’s dismay.
The truth left him moping, unable to focus on even the simplest of tasks as had been pointed out to him on numerous occasions. His step-father could only shake his head at him, whispered words passed to his mother on Kurama’s health.
Kurama gave an exhausted sigh, eyes not wavering from the window as he saw a shadow drop down in front of him, his shoulders hunched beneath the huge cloak that hugged his form.
“Hiei, I’d rather you not do that,” Kurama shook his head as he quickly turned his gaze back to the empty computer before him, pretending to be focusing on the work that wasn’t there.
“Hn,” was Hiei’s only response as he sat in the window. “Don’t tell me you’re still moping after the detective.”
Kurama’s emerald eyes flickered to his friend for a minute, deciding to keep his mouth shut. There was no point in saying it was so when Hiei already knew the truth of his thoughts.
“Gimme anuder,” Kuwabara didn’t know how to help his friend out any other way except pass over another beer from the fridge as Yusuke trudged on the end of his cigarette, fully unaware of the drool that dripped from the corner of his mouth.
Yusuke gave a hiccup as he began singing ‘one is the loneliest’ in a glass-shattering screech as he grabbed Kuwabara around the waist. The earth-shattering event had happened while they were on a mission.
It had been a girls’ day out when a drunk driver had hit the car head-on, killing both Yusuke’s mother and Keiko, as well as Shizuru, which had shattered Kuwabara.
He had his own problems to deal with, without worrying about Yusuke’s as this disaster had caused him to drop out of college. The only thing that kept him from the beer was knowing once he started he would never stop. That and knowing that becoming a drunk would only give the love of his life another reason to laugh at him.
In the psychic’s mind’s eye he could hear the taunting laughter of the only one he had left to care about. ‘You fool,’ he said in Kuwabara’s mind as the carrot top felt a purring against his chest and pulled the kitten closer.
“Yeah Eikichi, you miss her too, don’t you.” No matter how annoying she got it killed to hold back the tears. He was mourning with his friend. No matter what the situation, no matter how many times they could’ve been killed they never were. It was so stupid that they had been killed by a drunk driver. It just wasn’t fair.
“Will you quit pacing already,” Hiei finally snarled as he watched Kurama pass him one more time.
“I need to tell him,” Kurama finally practically exploded, his mind running in circles. He had to tell Yusuke.
“Hmph.”
" What?"
Hiei rolled his eyes at Kurama. " You have gotten soft Fox, that’s all." With that, Hiei jumped out of Kurama's room and was gone. Kurama sighed and lie on his bed.
>You’re a real mess<
(Shut up Yoko)
Kuwabara had gotten Yusuke to stop drinking for the night and to go to bed. He didn't trust Yusuke to walk home alone. The orange haired man was now sitting on his roof. He closed his eyes and sighed. "What do you want Hiei?" he asked.
Hiei smirked as he landed next to the human. "You’re getting better at finding me, for a human." The two had made a pact; they wouldn't yell at each other for at least four weeks. But that didn’t keep Hiei from insulting him
"Yusuke is still down. I don't think he will ever get over this. Losing the ones you love in that way would make anyone cry."
"Hn, the fox is no better. He 's too full of him self to tell the detective." Hiei rolled his eyes as Kuwabara sat up.
"Then lets get them together," he said. "Everyone can see how much Kurama loves Yusuke, but Yusuke and Yusuke needs some one to pull him out of this."
Hiei didn't say anything, till. "Fine, this better work."
