Hiei's Harem - Pt. 16 - Attaining

Again, this scene will be a tad long, but highly anticipated.. Or so it seems. :o?

Scene 9 -------------- Alaric


* Before Hiei and his group even emerges from the forest, inside the shielded mobile fortress Koenma and Kirin meet eyes. Then both leave their table in the commissary and hurry to the wide side door. Kirin presses the button, watches the door lower to form the ramp, then steps aside to allow the Prince to go down first. They stand and watch the Koorime advance toward them steadily. Koenma keeps his eyes on the new third Lord. Kirin studies the small entourage following Hiei. The three demons that are of some cat species obviously, all only slightly taller than his new Master. The decidedly taller, decidedly very handsome demon with long, straight jet black hair. And the sleek, black fur-covered female with likewise long black hair, feminine but obviously very dangerous. The General senses Hiei’s aura all over them and knows that he must keep his distance from all of them or suffer the jaganshi’s wrath. Hiei finally stops a couple feet away to look up at Koenma. But the Prince can tell that Hiei’s senses are searching for another.


Koenma- If you don’t want me here, I’ll go.. But I’d prefer to stay..

Hiei- Suit yourself.


* As Hiei looks around he notices that Kirin’s gaze is still on his subordinates and snarls, getting the taller, regally uniformed General’s attention.


Hiei- They belong to me, Kirin!


* Without hesitation, Kirin sinks to one knee bowing his head.


Kirin- In honor of M’Lord Mukuro’s final wishes,.. so do I,.. M’Lord.


* Hiei turns away from the General to look back up at Koenma.


Hiei- Is.. he here?


* Before Koenma can answer they all feel the new aura make itself known. Hiei lowers his eyes, barely keeping his control. Koenma raises a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose with a quiet groan of frustration when he sees who Yusuke’s holding beside him.


Yusuke- You would be referring to me, Shorty?


* Almost as one, Hiei’s subordinates turn to glare toward the Toushin. Yusuke faulters only a moment when he recognizes Dagon from the monitor up in Spirit World. Oddly, Hiei decides to hear Yusuke out.


Yusuke- You should know I wouldn’t miss this for the World.. I even brought a date.


* Staci half glances up at Yusuke. Hiei slowly turns to face Yusuke, then steps in front of his bristling subs. He half glances over his shoulder toward them.


Hiei- Stay out of this.


* Sylk lays a hand on Hiei’s shoulder.


Sylk(Quietly)- Master, things aren’t as they seem.


* Hiei shrugs her hand off and moves a few paces closer to Yusuke. The Toushin watches him glance almost imperceptibly toward Staci.


Hiei- What do you want, Yusuke? My concession from the upcoming Royal Tournament? My new position?


* He gives a couple beats pause when he recognizes the power orb throb inside him.


Hiei- My life?


* Yusuke senses the orb inside Hiei, too. He feels the reaction of his own long-concealed orb, also. He hasn’t felt his Father’s gift react so since the last Royal Tournament when he faced Yomi. He barely controlled it then, but he’s learned to deal with it better in the past couple years. It surprises Hiei when Yusuke releases Staci, but she doesn’t bolt from him.


Yusuke- H---, Hiei.. You should know I haven’t got an ambitious bone in my body.

Hiei- Then why did you bring her here?!


* Staci twinges at his harsh words and lowers her eyes.


Yusuke- Well, for one, she wanted to be here to celebrate your big day, too.

Hiei- I put her back where she belonged to keep her away from this!

Yusuke- D---, you haven’t changed much.. You never did care for anyone but yourself.. I’m sorry, Staci. I should’ve warned you..

Staci- Enough, Mr. Urameshi.. Please just.. finish this so I can go back home.


* Hiei can’t help but feel Staci’s sadness and disappointment. He starts toward her, but Yusuke grabs her arm again.


Yusuke- If you want her back I’ll give her to you.. But I want something back in return.


* Hiei looks back up at Yusuke. Kirin raises from his knee finally to look at Koenma.


Kirin- She.. That Human belongs to him?

Koenma- Not now, General.

Hiei- Yusuke,..

Yusuke- You took my memories, Hiei..! You crossed the line and.. raped my mind!


* Hiei turns to glare up at Koenma.


Koenma- I didn’t tell him.. He found out on his own.


* Hiei looks back toward Yusuke.


Hiei- You’re a fool, Yusuke.

Yusuke- I need to know what happened.. I want to know why Kurama’s been avoiding me.


* Yusuke looks toward Dagon again.


Yusuke- Why that Crow demon.. appeals to me so much.


* Dagon swallows then casts a nervous glance toward Kumataro when the Lynx growls.


Dagon- I’ll explain later.. Seriously, I..

Hiei- Shut up, bird!


* Hiei studies Yusuke a couple moments.


Hiei- It’s best.. for both of us that you don’t remember..


* Yusuke tilts his head.


Yusuke- Both of.. us?

Hiei- I won’t apologize for sparing you the torment of remembering.


* Yusuke lowers his eyes.


Yusuke- Why me? And not Kurama, too?

Hiei- Kurama wasn’t brought close to my Territory by a bird-brained idiot!


* Yusuke looks at Hiei again, then toward Dagon. The Crow shrugs his shoulders in concession.


Dagon- Yeah. That would be me.


* Both Kumataro and Habataro jackslap Dagon. Yusuke sighs and sinks to sit down.


Yusuke- I.. need to know if I.. hurt Kurama somehow.


* Hiei slowly relaxes and calms himself down.


Hiei- No.. You refused to do.. anything to him.


* Yusuke looks up at Hiei.


Hiei- Because you were a stubborn a--, as usual, the.. demon that caught you both.. drugged you..

Yusuke- What’s the b------‘s name?

Hiei- His name.. was Matsua.

Yusuke- Was?

Hiei- Hn.. I killed him because of the.. violation.. he wrought on my two friends.. Because of your stubbornness he couldn’t manage you for long so he sold you to the idiot behind me.


* Yusuke looks toward Dagon. The Crow averts his eyes.


Yusuke- And he.. used me.. to get to you.


* Hiei doesn’t answer. Yusuke growls his frustration.


Yusuke- D--- it! I was concerned about you.. So I went up to Junior’s office a few days back.. I learned that he was monitoring you.. That he knew where you were all along.


* Hiei lowers his eyes, but resists the urge to cast another glare toward Koenma.


Yusuke- I caught a very good show of you in a hammock with that idiot behind you.


* Hiei recalls that session that began their three-day rutting spree back in the ravine. He remembers their brief conversation and looks back at Yusuke again.


Hiei- Then you know everything you need to know now.

Yusuke- Not everything.. Will you return my memories or not?


* Hiei considers his decision carefully, remembering everything that’s at stake. He glances toward Staci and notices that she doesn’t feel the least bit threatened by the Toushin she’s still standing beside.


Hiei- No. I won’t.. I won’t allow you to suffer.. When.. If I get the chance I’ll do the same for Kurama.


* Yusuke glares at the stubborn demon a moment longer, then lowers his eyes. The atmosphere remains tense for several moments. Then Yusuke sighs deeply, looks up at Staci, and jerks his head toward Hiei.


Yusuke- Go on.. I promised you I’d return you to him safely.


* Staci hesitates, then timidly moves over closer to face Hiei. She refuses to meet his eyes, but sinks to her knees to show her respect.


Hiei- Are you well, Girl? Staci?


* When she just shrugs Hiei surprises everyone by helping her back up to her feet and pulling her into an embrace. He spends a couple moments discreetly snuffling her to be sure she’s unharmed. Hiei then turns to look up at Koenma and Kirin.


Hiei- My clan and I will rest for the remainder of this day.. Tomorrow I’ll make my position official.

Kirin- I’ll show you to your old suite, M’Lord.

Hiei- Hn.


* Yusuke stands and turns to leave the way he came.


Hiei- You’ll also see to Lord Urameshi’s accomodations.


* Yusuke turns back. Hiei looks up at him.


Hiei- I insist that you stay, Yusuke.. We’re still.. friends.. Are we not?


* Yusuke sighs.


Yusuke- I was hoping that we..

Hiei- Hn. But you’re still a fool, Detective.


* Hiei then smirks as he leads his attending pack up into the bug-shaped fortress. Yusuke saunters over to face Koenma.


Yusuke- I had no intentions of harming her.

Koenma- I would’ve hated to have lost two close friends over this nonsense, Yusuke.. Don’t you ever pull a stupid stunt like that again!

Yusuke- I make no promises I can’t keep.


* Koenma shakes his head and follows Yusuke up into Alaric. He can feel that the young Toushin is still depressed and upset over his plan not working.

Well, I hope none of you are depressed over the way this ‘confrontation’ worked out. I figured a couple different scenarios, but this one just seemed to work. I feel that it expresses the progress of friendship between these two. Ahh, but there’s still some tension to keep you happy. Besides that, there’s still ‘others’ that need to show up. ;o)
