Hiei's Harem - Pt. 14 - Changing

Scene 9 --------------- A Few Moments Later


* Kurama is back out in his common room, seated on his couch. He looks up when Yusuke is shown in.


Kurama- Yusuke, what a surprise.

Yusuke- Can the sarcasm. It doesn’t fit you. You know I had to show up here sooner or later.


* Yusuke turns to look back out the door.


Yusuke- And just so you know, you Old Goat, I’m not here because your son called me!! Now put plugs in all those ears of yours or something!!


* Kurama lowers his eyes. Yusuke waves his escorts out, shuts the door, and turns to look at Kurama again.


Yusuke- Think he heard me?

Kurama- I think half of Demon World heard you.


* Yusuke comes over and plops down into one of the armchairs.


Kurama- So why are you here?

Yusuke- You mean you haven’t heard?

Kurama- I’ve been kinda.. busy.. of late..

Yusuke- Then we got some serious talkin’ to do, Fox-boy.. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other.

Kurama- A couple months.. Then you’re not here because of the baby?

Yusuke- Figures you’d know about Hiei.


* Kurama tilts his head a bit confused.


Kurama- Hiei?

Yusuke- Well, what other.. baby.. would we be..?

Kurama- Mine.


* Yusuke looks up to meet Kurama’s eyes.


Kurama- Shishi just gave birth to my first.

Yusuke- Oh, wow.. Talk about my bad timing.. Hey, congratulations, though.. Is it healthy and everything okay?

Kurama- She and Shishi are fine.

Yusuke- She..? A girl? Cool. I bet she’s a real cutie.

Kurama- Yes. She’s covered in pale blue fur with the cutest pair of Youko ears. She probably won’t be opening her eyes for a couple days so I can’t tell you what color they are yet.


* The bedroom door opens and Touya comes out. He stops when he notices Yusuke. The Toushin looks the rotund Ice Master over, also. Kurama stands up in case Touya attempts to confront Yusuke.


Yusuke- So.. You have been busy..


* Yusuke looks back up at Kurama grinning to try to diffuse the tension.


Yusuke- Did you get your blonde glamour boy, too?

Kurama- Yusuke, you can still be as crass as ever.

Touya- Shishi’s hungry. I was just..

Kurama- Go ahead, Love.


* Touya nods, casts a last glance toward Yusuke, then goes on into the kitchen. Kurama looks back at Yusuke.


Yusuke- I don’t mean to be rude.

Kurama- What baby were you referring to?

Yusuke- So Koenma hasn’t told you anything, either, huh?

Kurama- I haven’t seen him since I left Spirit World with my pack.

Yusuke- Well, could ya sit back down and relax? I’ll fill you in on what I’ve learned.


* Kurama sighs then settles back down onto his couch.


Kurama- Yusuke, now isn’t exactly the best time..

Yusuke- I just had an interesting visit with Junior a little bit ago.. Because of that phone call from Yomi’s brat Koenma finally had to show me where Hiei is.. Well, not exactly where, but..


* Kurama looks away to watch Touya carry a tray of food back into the bedroom.


Yusuke- Anyway, it seems that our friend has gathered himself a few mates.


* Kurama looks back at Yusuke.


Kurama- This surprises you?

Yusuke- Yeah, well. I never pictured the little guy as being much of a.. family man.

Kurama- It’s not unusual for a newly-matured Alpha male to get caught up in Spring’s spell.. Especially in that region..

Yusuke- Is that why you quit trying to find him?

Kurama- I had my suspecions.

Yusuke- I see. What region is he..?

Kurama- So now that you know that Hiei’s faring well why are you so worked up?


* Yusuke hesitates a couple moments when Kurama cuts off his question.


Yusuke- Because one of his.. mates.. happens to be a..


* Just then a portal swirls open near Yusuke. Before he can react a couple ogres storm through, grab him up, and disappear back into the portal. Kurama stands quickly and approaches the swirling oval.


Kurama- May I enter, sir?


* When the portal remains open Kurama half turns to telepathically inform his mates that he’ll return soon, then enters the portal.
