Chapter Eight
The room grew quiet as everyone looked at Koemna and then to Elfleda. “My father?” Koemna looked at her. “Why do you want to do that?”
“I would like to meet the man I was accused of trying to kill”
“Ummm I don’t think that would be possible,” Koemna was sweating bullets and not looking at Elfleda in the eye. “My father is a very busy man.”
“Or could it be that your father doesn’t know about me being out of my cell and that I was asked to be part of the team? Or that by the end of the two months you were still going to place me back in jail?” Elfleda looked him in the eye while he tried to look away. The gang looked horrified at Koemna as he just looked at the ground. “I thought as much.”
“Koemna, how could you be like that?” Boton slapped him across the face, leaving everyone in shock.
“Boton!”
“I don’t care Koemna! She is the nicest girl, helpful, strong, a great cook, and powerful. A great asset and you are hiding from your Dad!” Boton was huffing after shouting at him. Everyone stared at the usually cheerful Reaper.
“Boton, let the man be.” Elfleda got out of the bed and walked over to the young ruler. He looks in fear at her calm features. She raises her hands out toward him. “Instead of building my hopes, just take me.”
“He’s not going to,” Kurama walked over to them. “I will take her place.”
“No. I will” Kuwabara spoke up, “Kurama you are the smartest and really good at strategies. Yusuke, you are the strongest and the leader of the group. Short-stuff is the fastest and can mess with your mind. I’m the one that’s clumsy, always getting in trouble, and I’m the only one that is all human. I’m the weakest. Besides for her fainting, Elfleda can hold her own and is full demon. Even Shorty likes her. I’ll take her place.”
“You will do no such thing Kazuma, You have love, friendship, and trust. I have none of those qualities and you will not give them up for me.” Elfleda pointed over to where Yukina was holding her hand against her chest. “She needs you with the team. They all need you here. I was not meant to be part of this team the fates have made that cleAHHHH” She was carried off in a blur by a man a foot shorter than her. Everyone knew who it was and decided to let it be. Hiei would get her to fight for staying out of jail. Koemna was the only one upset, not due to her being gone but his girlfriend wouldn’t speak to him and his team was giving him dirty looks.
