Scene 86 ------------------------------------------- Later That Day

* Hiei is once again nursing Tatsuya when his room door opens slightly. He recognizes the presence before he even sees the familiar face peek in. Hiei sighs quietly, inwardly knowing that he can't avoid his sister forever. The ice maiden seems to pick up on her brother's mood.


Yukina- (Quietly) If you don't want me here, I won't impose..

Hiei- Get in here,.. Sister.


* Yukina hesitates, but continues on over. She smiles softly as she bends to kiss Tatsuya's black-tufted head gently.


Yukina- Hello, Nephew.. He looks to be doing very well.

Hiei- Hn. He has his Sire's appetite.


* Yukina raises her eyes to look at Hiei. The male koorime meets her eyes fully for the first time since their captivity.


Hiei- It is time that we clear.. our situation..

Yukina- What's to clear?


* Hiei blinks at her a couple times.

* Hiei lowers his eyes again, not sure what to say. He feels Yukina's energy as she begins to check his condition.


Hiei- (Quietly) I'm healing well enough now.. Thanks to Ryuji.. and you.. I owe both of you..


* As Hiei speaks Ryuji enters to finish.


Ryuji- Nothing.


* Hiei and Yukina both look up at him as he comes over.


Ryuji- Family is the most important thing to fire demons.. Well, most of us.. How are you doing, Ani?

Hiei- I'll tell you the same thing I just told her.. I'm fine! You both can stop coddling me now!


* Both Yukina and Ryuji chuckle at Hiei's usual cantankerousness.


Yukina- Alright, brother. Calm down.. I'm going.


* Hiei reaches out to grasp her wrist as she turns to leave.


Hiei- Yukina.. I.. I will do what I need to do to take care of you and..


* Hiei scowls.


Hiei- S---, I don't even know the brat's name yet..

Yukina- Our.. son's name.. is Kenkaku.


* Hiei's hand drops loose as he stares up at her a moment.


Hiei- Ex-excuse me? D-did you say.. Kenkaku?

Yukina- Yes.. He whispered it to me while I was meditating, not long before he was born..


* Ryuji and Yukina exchange glances when Hiei's eyes go unfocused as his head drops back down onto the pillow. Not even Tatsuya brings him around when the baby begins to squirm and fuss. Ryuji finally grasp Hiei's arm thinking that he's slipping into one of his 'zoning out' spells.


Ryuji- Hiei,..


* Hiei swallows and answers quietly.


Hiei- (Quietly) His.. Father's name was.. Kenkaku..

Ryuji- His..?

Hiei- Shishiwakamaru..


* Hiei looks back up at Yukina. She doesn't quite know how to respond, since she hasn't quite learned the whole story herself.


Yukina- How.. strange..


* Hiei closes his eyes.


Yukina- I do have to go.. It's Kenny's feeding time..

Hiei- Will you bring him with you sometime? I want him to know..


* Yukina smiles brightly.


Yukina- I had every intention of making sure that he knows who you are, Brother.


* Ryuji quietly uses his jagan to scan Hiei as the koorime watches his sister leave. When the door closes Hiei lays his head back down, avoiding Ryuji's eyes.


Ryuji- Quite a family we're accumulating here..

Hiei- Shut up.

Ryuji- I'll leave, too, if you're not ready to talk to me, yet.

Hiei- What's to say.. You've already used your d--- eye to see everything.. You've probably seen every detail of how I violated her..


* Ryuji shrugs.


Ryuji- All I made out was the two of you kissing.. Did you blank out after..?

Hiei- That d--- Koenma and his SDF goons busted through the d--- wall.. A huge piece of it happened to find my head keeping me from doing.. worse.. to her..

Ryuji- Ahh.. Oh, yeah.. She's the younger twin so she takes more after your ice heritage..


* Hiei closes his eyes. Ryuji lays his hand on his brother's arm again.


Ryuji- You have to stop doing this to yourself.. Ever since you got away from that b------ Satjiyu again.. It's worse than it was the first time, Ani.. You need to let me help you..

Hiei- What I need.. is to be given a couple days alone with my son! You know how important it is for our bonding.. And you can tell.. him.. all about that.


* Ryuji releases Hiei and nods with a sigh.


Ryuji- Yes, I understand that.. I will be sure to inform your Alpha.

Hiei- Good.

Ryuji- But I will return in two days.


* Hiei looks back up at Ryuji, then watches his taller brother leave. Hiei looks back down at Tatsuya.


Hiei- And that was your stubborn, a-- of an uncle.


* Again, Tatsuya smiles but this time he flails his tiny arms as well. Hiei can't help but smile at his son's antics.
