Sorry, wasn't meaning to be so cruel in not updating. Just joking around with my buddy, Blueutopia.. errr, you are my buddy, right? o> :o? Besides that, my connection has been hindered by the rainy weather again :o(

Scene 80 ------------------------------------------- Spirit World/The Next Morning
* George turns to look at his boss when Koenma bumbles in nursing a large cup of coffee and rubbing his back.
George- Morning, Sir.. You slept on your couch again?
Koenma- Stop being so cheerful, ogre.. I'm not in the mood.
* Koenma continues grumbling as he floats toward his desk.
George- I'm sorry, Sir.. But Lord Yomi is wanting to talk to you.. He beeped in just before you arrived.
* Koenma whines, glances toward the tall triple stack of 'important' papers and files on his desk, then poofs into his teen form and turns toward the big viewscreen.
Koenma- Alright. Patch him through.
* George hums as his fingers run over the controls. Koenma rolls his eyes.
Koenma- (Mumbling) I hate morning people.
Yomi- Hmm. Good morning to you, too.
* Koenma looks back toward the screen.
Koenma- I wasn't talking about you.. Why are you bugging me this early?
Yomi- I thought you might enjoy hearing some good news for a change.
Koenma- Good news? Like what? You and Mukuro finally kissed and made up?
* Yomi scowls. Koenma waves a hand toward the screen as if Yomi could see the gesture.
Koenma- Pay me no mind, Yomi.. I haven't been sleeping well.. I have one friend due to deliver any day and another that may die..
Yomi- If you're referring to Lord Hiei, that is who my good news will affect.
* Koenma studies the blind goat demon as he suckles his pacifier studiously.
Yomi- I had an unexpected visitor here yesterday afternoon.. Well, four actually.
Koenma- Just give me the news and skip the riddles, please.
Yomi- Mukuro's former Second.. Lord Ryuji.. and his three babies.. I'm sure you are aware of Lord Hiei's brother..
Koenma- Yes. I know of him.
Yomi- A couple days ago his mate gave birth.. then died.. The fool mated with a skink demon.. Impetuos decision on his part..
Koenma- Male skink demons were cursed by my Father many centuries ago.. The species were breeding like rabbits and overrunning Demon World..
Yomi- Yes, so your Father placed a curse on them that allowed for only the females to birth babies and live.. I'm well aware of that.
Koenma- Of course, you would be.
Yomi- Well, apparently, Ryuji wasn't aware of this bit of information..
Koenma- So how does this development help Hiei?
Yomi- It seems that he had angered Mukuro by refusing to name his daughter with something that starts with an M.. So she booted him out of Alaric..
* Koenma starts to turn toward his desk, then 'eeps' and turns back looking a bit paler.
Koenma- Wait a minute!! If Ryuji's mate died then that means that he'll..!!
Yomi- Hai.. That is why he came to me..
* Koenma moves closer to the screen, narrowing his eyes.
Koenma- What are you trying to tell me, d--- it!
* Yomi sighs exaggeratedly.
Yomi- Ryuji has.. presented himself to me for consideration.. He wants me to take him for his mate so that he'll be good and healthy for when his brother needs him.
* Slowly Koenma removes his pacifier from his mouth.
Koenma- Why doesn't he just go to..?
Yomi- He says he'll have to wait until the doctors put Hiei out to extract his baby.. Otherwise, in his current hibernative state he'll still reject his help.
* Now Koenma nods.
Koenma- Yes, even now he's still the most stubborn little..
* Koenma looks back up at Yomi.
Koenma- But.. y-you said.. if you..
Yomi- I haven't completely decided if I'm ready to make such a commitment..
Koenma- If you're letting me know this to goad me into making some kind of a deal..
Yomi- You are a shrewd one, Lord Koenma.
* Koenma sighs deeply.
Koenma- You know that you have me over a barrel.. What's your d--- deal?
* Yomi chuckles a moment.
Yomi- If I agree to take this fiesty roustabout as my mate I want you to agree not to tell Yusuke.. I will, of course, want some.. private time so that my new mate and I might get better.. acquainted.. Is that too unreasonable to ask?
* Koenma lowers his eyes, then shakes his head.
Koenma- No, Lord Yomi.. Not unreasonable in the least.
* Yomi nods.
Yomi- So be it, then.. I assure you that Hiei's brother will be at Tourin in plenty of time to save the little spitfire.
* Koenma relaxes visibly as Yomi cuts the connection. For a couple moments the Teen doesn't move as this new development fully registers in his brain. Then he turns and hurries to his desk. George turns and pales as Koenma shoves the stacks of files aside looking for one the intercom. When he finds it he hits the Reincarnation Department extension. A yawning ogre finally answers the summons.
Ogre- Reincarnation Department, Bud speaking.
Koenma- Bud, this is Lord Koenma..
Bud- Morn(yawn)ing, boss.
Koenma- Do you remember that order I've had ready to go to the koorime for several weeks now?
Bud- Yeah, Sir.. The Banshee's still in the holding unit.
Koenma- You can go ahead and process him now.
* Bud yawns again noisily.
Bud- Banshee has the green light to go to the koorime's baby now.. Right?
Koenma- Yes.
Bud- I'll get him shipped right now, sir.
Koenma- Good. Make sure Shishi has a safe trip or I'll bust you to the cafeteria dishline for the rest of your existance.
* Koenma hears Bud yawn again as he cuts the connection. The Prince then notices that his coffee cup is now empty again.
Koenma- George, hum while you clean up this mess!
* George's head droops as Koenma moves back toward the large double doors.
