Scene 8 --------- The Special Holding Room


* Kurama opens his sightless eyes when his nose wakes him up. The redhead sits up and sweeps his hands around in front of him until he finds the food tray that was left for him. He draws it up onto his lap then pauses to listen. When he fails to hear the sounds he was hoping for he lowers his eyes and sighs.


Kurama- You have to eat, Yusuke.


* Yusuke, seated in a corner as far away from Kurama as he can get, looks toward him.


Yusuke- No, I don't.. My d--- Father lasted well over..

Kurama- Your d--- Father wasn't housed in a human shell.

Yusuke- Just eat and don't worry about me, Fox.


* For several moments neither of them move. Finally Kurama breaks the silence again.


Kurama- Yusuke,..


* The Toushin sighs and stands to start pacing.


Yusuke- I didn't mean to snap at you, Kurama.. This waiting around s--- is really.. really starting to get on my last nerve!


* Yusuke pauses to slam a fist into the thick glass of the currently-empty observation room. Soon after he promptly shakes his hand with mumbled pained curses.


Kurama- Then we need to do something.


* Yusuke turns to tilt his head with annoyance at Kurama.


Yusuke- I just nearly broke my hand punching this stupid window.. Are you deaf now, too?

Kurama- My ears are still working.. I wasn't referring to.. that kind of action.


* Yusuke crosses his arms.


Yusuke- Then just what the h--- are you..?

Kurama- They are waiting for us to do something.


* Yusuke shakes his head and flips a middle finger angrily toward the camera in the corner.


Yusuke- Well, keep waiting, a--holes! It's not gonna happen!

Kurama- Yusuke,.. you can stop now.


* Yusuke looks toward Kurama again. The redhead lays his tray aside.


Kurama- Yusuke, listen to me.. It's a possibility that they may keep me blind.


* Yusuke shakes his head and begins to pace again.


Yusuke- No. Your demon nature will..

Kurama- We're both warded.. Can you summon up your powers? You couldn't even punch through that window.

Yusuke- Hey!


* He pauses to glare at Kurama again.


Yusuke- It's a d--- thick hunk of glass, okay?!


* Kurama sighs. He should know better than to try to argue with the Toushin. But this isolation is beginning to grate even on his nerves.


Yusuke- Just eat.

Kurama- Not until you do.

Yusuke- D--- you're bullheaded.

Kurama- Like you have room to talk!


* Yusuke clenches his fists. A plan begins to form in the human Kitsune's brain.


Kurama- All you have to do is just.. do what you planned to do to Koenma..

Yusuke- What?!


* Kurama looks back up toward Yusuke.


Kurama- Sure. It'll be easy for you to..

Yusuke- Shut up!

Kurama- What? You're going to pretend now that you don't desire me?

Yusuke- Kurama,..


* Kurama stands, but keeps himself back against the wall. Even though he can't see or be able to use his special senses, he can tell by his friend's voice that he is hitting the right button.


Kurama- Do you mean to have me believe that you don't have the.. balls to come over here and fight me?


* For a couple moments Yusuke's anger builds. When he starts to go over toward Kurama he notices his friend brace himself, but gives no indication of doing anything to protect himself. He stops himself.


Kurama- Come on! I can still smell, too.. I can smell the arousal all over you..

Yusuke- Kurama, stop.

Kurama- Don't wimp out now.

Yusuke- Shut-the h---.. up!


* Yusuke moves back away.


Yusuke- I know what you're trying to do..


* Kurama quiets and drops his face.


Yusuke- I'm not going to do that..

Kurama- Why not?


* The Kitsune's calculating brain decides to try a different strategy.


Kurama- Is it because I'm blind? Does that turn you off..?

Yusuke- I'm not going to do it for a number of reasons, Fox.. Least of which is your current.. condition.. Do I have to tick them off for you?

Kurama- Yes.


* Yusuke glares at Kurama again.


Yusuke- You're an Alpha.. If I unseat you it would destroy you, our friendship, your mating with those other three.. What would happen to Shishi's baby?


* Yusuke quiets when Kurama slowly slides back down the wall to sit. He's never seen his friend so despondent. The redhead keeps his face bowed, shielding his pained expression with his thick bangs.


Kurama(Quietly)- I've.. already lost them..

Yusuke- I doubt that.. These creeps probably have them in another..

Kurama- D--- it, Yusuke!


* Yusuke takes another step back startled.


Kurama- I'm blind! I told you, they'll probably keep me this way! Blindness is an unacceptable weakness for an Alpha..

Yusuke- Man, you are stressed.. First losing your temper, now lying..

Kurama- I'm not..!

Yusuke- Then you're forgetting about your boss Yomi?


* Kurama glances up as Yusuke moves to sit down against the wall beside him.


Kurama- It took Yomi hundreds of years to reach..

Yusuke- Well, I have no plans of being in this place that long.. I'll think of something..

Kuchki- Well, there is another solution.


* Yusuke looks toward the observation room.


Yusuke- Yeah, both of you f---ers could remove these wards and face us like men.

Kuchki- In your own words, Toushin. Not going to happen.. But you could agree to be the submissive one.


* Kurama lowers his eyes again. Yusuke falls silent and watches Kuchki settle comfortably back into his chair with a synical smirk.
