No problem, Tachi. I wasn't bawling you out, just had me a little nervous that maybe I made a plot boo boo. :o)

Scene 8 ----------- A Couple Hours Later
* When Hiei stirs awake he first becomes aware of the annoying sound of clinking things. At first he is confused until more of his senses come together. He remembers why he went into hibernation. With a moan he pushes himself up with one arm to roll onto his back. Another moment is spent orienting himself a bit more, then he sits up on the thick mattress to look toward the noise. Habataro's short tail swishes comically as he seems to be enjoying his task of cleaning up the dishes from the mess he and Coutaro had left earlier.
Hiei- What.. are you doing, Cat?
* Habataro glances toward him with the same purring chuckle Coutaro had emitted.
Habataro- Welcome back, Master.. I got bored waiting for you to wake up so I decided to clean up..
Hiei- I can see that, you idiot.. I mean.. why are you here?
* Hiei watches the lanky Lynx demon dry his hands with the dishtowel he had thrown over his shoulder. He's tempted to scan Habataro's thoughts, but he decides against it. He's pretty keyed in to the demon already because of the marking. Finally, Habataro lays the towel aside and goes over to look down at Hiei.
Habataro- If I have to answer that then you really haven't been an alpha for very long.
Hiei- I told your brothers to tell you that I wouldn't force anything on you..
Habataro- They did tell me.
* Habataro moves calmly as he sinks to lay on the mattress beside Hiei on his stomach. He folds his arms under his head and looks up at Hiei with a fuzzy eyebrow cocked.
Habataro- I might be straight, but I'm not a complete prude.. I believe this is the proper position I should be in.. Right?
Hiei- Hn.. It's one of them.
* Hiei feels himself being drawn to cover the Lynx. When he forces himself to look away he notices the window. It's starting to get dark.
Habataro- One..? You mean there's..?
Hiei- Hn.
* It surprises Habataro when Hiei stands.
Hiei- Perhaps someday I'll teach them to you.
Habataro- M'Lord, I'm here of my own accord.
* Hiei half glances toward Hab who is now sitting up.
Hiei- I know.
Habataro- Then I don't..
Hiei- The sun will be setting soon.
* Habataro glances toward the window.
Habataro- Are you some kind of vampire demon?
Hiei- No. I'm.. part Fire.. It has nothing to do with anything like that.
* Hiei makes sure his cloak is fastened shut properly as he continues speaking.
Hiei- I told my pack that I'd be back by sunset tonight.. You should know how nervous b----es can get.
Habataro- Hai.. I have three mates and five daughters.
* Hiei still senses the Cat's disappointment and looks at him.
Hiei- Tell me something, Habataro.
Habataro- Anything, Sir.
Hiei- Can you move this village?
* Habataro looks back up at Hiei. After a moment of blinking with his head slightly tilted in thought he shrugs.
Habataro- I suppose so.
Hiei- Good. You know where my ravine is, correct?
* Habataro nods.
Habataro- Hai.
Hiei- Good.. Have the village moved and positioned so that it shields the whole mouth of that canyon.. Your brother's barrier abilities will be quite useful.
Habataro- Ahh. You wish us to be your protectors.
Hiei- Have a problem with that?
* Habataro scrambles to his feet and bows quickly.
Habataro- Not at all. We are at your command, Master.
* Hiei nods.
Hiei- Great. Right now the mouth is protected by a line of carnivorous plants. One of my new females is a Kitsune..
Habataro- Completely understood.. We make it a point to avoid carnivorous bushes.. and Kitsunes.
Hiei- Have Coutaro contact me as soon as you've reached the area.. I'll come and give you further orders when you arrive.
* Habataro nods and sits back down. Hiei can still sense his sullen mood in his voice and through their new bond.
Habataro- My whole village is at your.. disposal.. It may take a day or so to complete the move.
Hiei- Hn.
* The Koorime looks toward the door, but hesitates to leave. With a quiet sigh he moves instead to put his hand on Habataro's head.
Hiei- I'm not rejecting you..
* Habataro looks back up to meet Hiei's eyes.
Hiei- I made a promise to my pack and I do my best to try to keep my word.
Habataro- Yes, Sir.. Oh! My alpha mate says that the tailors will need your pack's sizes before those garments can be made.
Hiei- We'll get all that taken care of as soon as you're settled in.
Habataro- Safe journey to you, Master.
* Hiei nods once more and leaves the hut. Outside he takes a last glance around then flits away to return to the ravine.
