CHAPTER EIGHT
"Sango, what is it?" Kagome asked as she and her friend passed the same tree three times.
"Kagome...um, when, I mean how did you know that you liked Inuyasha?" Sango kept her head and eyes down.
"Hmm...I don't know. I just knew I cared about what happened to him. Once I felt that, everything grew from there." Kagome stood still and the two stopped by a small stream. She smiled wickedly, "So Sango, who do you think you like?"
"Uh...N-no one. I was just asking a rhetorical question." She held her hands up in a way that mirrored the monk.
"That's bullshit Sango. C'mon I wont tell anyone, let me in...is it Miroku?" She smiled bigger not letting the issue go.
"No, never. He's a pervert who will bed anything with legs. I know he has male lovers, and that is where his heart is. I value Miroku as a friend, but I'm not even attracted to him physically." She finally made eye contact with Kagome.
"I dunno, he's got those sweet thin lips, and those delicate eyebrows...Miroku's a pretty sexy guy." Kagome laughed at her confession, playing with the hem of her skirt.
"Not to take offense, but why would you want a man that looks like a woman?" She had all the seriousness of the world on her face.
"I...hmm, never thought of that. I just always thought bishonen's were cutest."
"Not me. I do not look for thin features, and a body smoother than my own. It feels wrong. A man should be strong, and appear to be so. But...more than that, he should be polite and loyal. Caring and loving, yet powerful and determined...like a samurai..." Sango began to stare dazedly at the night sky.
"Oh my God..." Kagome bust into laughter, "Y-you like him don't you? The carrot top with the weird hair?" Kagome couldn't stop laughing, she had never associated cute and that boy in the same sentence. Maybe even paragraph. "B-but, he's so ugly..." Kagome calmed down to speak clearly.
Sango felt her face flame as she felt more rage and offense than she ever did, even under the monks worst groping.
"Kagome that is a horrible thing to say! At least he is human, and doesn't have cat ears! Yeah, I said it CAT! They do not look like dog ears!" This was the only thing that came to the angry Demon Slayers mind, as childish as it was.
Kagome was shocked at the anger, but couldn't stop laughing.
"I know...I'm sorry Sango. You can leave Inuyasha's ears and lineage out of this." She smiled sorrily.
"I- I'm sorry Kagome. I don't know what..." She looked away ashamed of her outburst toward her dear friend, and cruel words about her other.
"It's just that, some women do not wished to be groped by an attractive bishonen...Kazuma-kun is the only guy I've ever seen like him, other than the samurai who use to come to our village. I was too young to ever date them, but I fell in love with the way they treated women...like they were, women." Sango laughed at how stupid she probably sounded.
"I can understand that, but who is Kazuma-kun?" Kagome was genuinely puzzled.
"If you would have been listening instead of drooling over the fox on the ground, you would have heard their introduction. Kazuma Kuwabara...what an amazing name." Sango sighed, blushing.
"Damn, you got it bad...But does he, have a girlfriend?"
"Oh no..." Sango's face paled and the lulling joy that graced it was replaced by sorrow. "I- I don't know. I didn't even ask..."
//
"Hey I bet Yukina would love this one!"
//
She replayed a moment from the day. When they were walking they passed many flowers the boy had claimed never to have seen. He often remarked about a girl named Yukina, and her love of flowers. He also spoke of taking a few back for her when they left.
//Why else would he want to bring her back flowers? Yukina is probably his girlfriend! Oh, how could I be so stupid?!//
She turned and began to run off.
"Sango wait..." Kagome tried but decided she couldn't stop her anyway. She was worried about her friend, but suddenly her mind began to wander to the Spirit Detective.
//I don't know...//
She began walking back to the hut smiling.
//He does have a nice ass in those jeans.//

Hiei sank into the water, trying to forget the pain in his heart. He despised himself for crying, but his emotions betrayed him. He cared so much for that damn fox.
//And he had the nerve to come back reeking of that half breed's sex!//
Hiei clenched his eyes tight and more tears ran down.
//At least he and Yusuke hadn't copulated yet...//
Feeling like he was dead Hiei sat on a semi-submerged rock ledge and tried to calm down. He was so upset he didn't notice the concerned violet eyes six or so feet away from him.
"Are you all right?" Miroku asked. Hiei almost jumped out of his skin.
"What the fuck are you doing here?!" Hiei wanted to run but was nude and a way away from his clothes.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have walked up on you...I just, well, was bathing over there and I heard something..."
"I don't care, leave me alone or you'll regret being alive." Hiei's eyes narrowed dangerously, and he made a low growl. Flaring his youki for effect.
"It's okay. I don't mean you any trouble." Miroku held his hands up in a monk manner.
"Then leave..."
"Why were you crying?"
Hiei paled, then blushed slightly.
"You seen me?" He asked himself more than the houshi. He couldn't believe he let his guard down again. First the hanyou's snide comment, and now this damn monk.
"I couldn't help it, you looked so sad."
"It's nothing." Hiei looked away. This man already knew too much.
"If you say so." Miroku casually sat next to Hiei and looked at the starry sky.
Hiei backed a few feet to the side and glared. "Why are you still here?"
"You haven't killed me yet, why?"
Hiei made a 'Hnn' noise the monk found similar to Inuyasha's 'Keh'.
"That's still no answer..." Miroku dared a look at Hiei, who in turn looked away.
"I'm still thinking." Hiei closed his eyes. He wasn't lieing. He didn't know. He under normal circumstances would never be in such a vulnerable position with a stranger...A human monk of all people. But tonight...He was so...So what? What was he feeling that made him want the monk around?
"Heh, your cute." Miroku smiled.
Hiei's eyes snapped open. He turned a shocked, somewhat angry gaze at the houshi.
"Now your really cute." Miroku looked back at the sky, teasingly.
"Kudai! What are you saying?! I'm a male if you didn't notice!" Hiei spat.
"Does that matter?" The monk never changed his gaze.
"Uh..." The Koorime had no answer. Did he care? He was, anyway, in love with Kurama.
//Kurama...//
Just the mention of the spirit foxes name made his heart weep. The love he could never have or keep. For years and years he has loved Kurama, and lusted after him. But the fox was always more concerned with someone else. No matter what he did to be noticed by those loving green eyes all he got was another challenging look. Not the same eyes he looked at Yusuke with, or even Karasu...To the fox all Hiei was was another member of their group. Someone he fought beside, and trusted his life to, but only in that he had confidence in the others abilities. He didn't love him, and as Hiei thought he never would.
//Who could ever love me, being what I am, a forbidden child? A soulless demon who kills anything that gets in his way? He could never love me! Why did I let myself fall for that idiot?!//
Hiei turned his back to the monk and began to wade away some.
//What the hell am I doing? Now I'm talking to this ningen...I'm...Crying again?! Have I become this pathetic?!//
Hiei could not be silent and cry quietly anymore. He sobbed loudly. Quickly wiping the tears away only to sob again creating more.
"Nani?" Miroku stared at the back of the shaking figure. Without hesitation he waded over and even though he resisted he held his arms around him. Resting his head on the smaller ones trembling shoulder.
Hiei wanted to kill the monk, but he couldn't stand this feeling anymore. This emptiness, and somehow his embrace was helping. In a final sob of frustration and submission, Hiei reached up and clung to the monks arms.
"Shh..." Miroku whispered in his ear tightening his grip. He wasn't sure what this person was feeling, but he could tell he needed someone. Maybe he did too. A deep seeded sadness was surrounding this being.
"Why are you here?" Hiei whispered.
"Maybe because you needed me to be?" Miroku smiled.
"T-that's impossible!" he gasped.
"Not at all. Fate is not to be taken lightly."
"Hnn." Hiei closed his eyes. He didn't know what was going on. He felt so dizzy and this houshi's words didn't help. Then his eyes shot open again.
"Nani?!"
Miroku was softly kissing the nape of Hiei's neck. "If you want me to stop just say so." Miroku paused only to speak, then returned.
"I..." Hiei couldn't talk. He had never felt anything like this. He'd never been kissed anywhere. He wanted more...He just bit down on his tongue and remained quiet.
Miroku could barely keep from smiling. He felt the small one freeze and breathe erotically. Shivering under his lips. He slid his right hand up his chest and began rubbing the tiny nipple. This cause the Koorime to jump and make a muffled sound.
The monk really wanted to hear this one cry out.
//What a dangerous experience.//
When he first laid Inuyasha he thought that was a rush, but this Jao was a much bigger challenge.
He could almost see the energy coming from the mysterious headband. The monk assumed it was an evil eye, he of course was immune to such powers.
"The bandana...you have a third eye?" Miroku asked tweaking a nipple casually.
"H-how did you know?"
"I can sense it. It has no effect on me...May I remove the bandana?"
Hiei just nodded and Miroku unleashed it. He marveled at the beauty as it blinked a few times virginally. The monk leaned Hiei back in his arms and stared down at him. Hiei's face was blushed and he looked up unsure.
"You are so very lovely." The monk rubbed the fire apparition's chin.
Hiei couldn't speak. No one had ever held him so tenderly...Kissed him so softly. He was under the spell of this monk. Miroku leaned in and kissed the Jagan eyelid.
"Ahh!" He clenched his eyes and moaned. The feeling shot through his body like electric. This caused him to blush deeper and begin to pant.
"Mmm...You sound so sexy." Miroku smiled returning his kisses to Hiei's neck.
"M-monk?..." Hiei ran shaky fingers through the wet black hair, freeing it of it ponytail.
"Hai?" He smiled lustfully.
Hiei looked into the violet eyes with awe. Somehow all his words melted away like wax from a flame. Coherent thought was not possible.
"Umm..." He stammered.
"Hmm?" Miroku smiled deeper, only worsening the Koorime's predicament.
"I have never done anything like this before. I most likely will not be able to pleasure you well..." The crimson eyes looked away.
Miroku looked at him strange and began to laugh. Hiei made an angry face, "What's so funny monk?"
"Why do you assume I want YOU to pleasure me?"
"Then what?" Hiei blinked, lost.
"Maybe I just want to see you in pleasure." The monk winked.
"You make no sense."
"Not at all. Some people enjoy giving pleasure more."
"But why? You don't know me at all. What can you possibly gain from this pleasure you speak of?"
"Yari, yari...Such a dark one you are."
"Hnn. You could say that." Hiei closed his eyes.
"I can see many things about you."
"Like what?!" Suddenly Hiei felt alarm and backed up.
"Calm down, nothing bad. Just things about your spirit...There is much turmoil, and disappointment, sadness...In fact it almost hurts to read it."
"Sounds about right." Hiei had to smile. This houshi was something.
"Your much too tough on the outside. No being should carry such pain."
"I didn't get to choose." Hiei narrowed his eyes.
Miroku decided not to push it, he'd scare off his dragonfly.
"Your right, one does not get to choose. I'm sorry."
"I should go." Hiei turned his back to him. He didn't really want to go, but he didn't want pity.
"Please don't let me make you leave."
"It's not you."
"Oh?"
"I'm not to be pitied monk. I am what I am, and have done what I have done. I hold no regrets for anything. Good, bad, evil...I take it all the same. You caught me on an off day. Do not assume I am so open usually. If this was any other night, your throat would be missing." Hiei smiled bitterly.
//He's almost convinced even himself.//
Miroku smiled. "Yes. I do not pity you Hiei. I am sorry for your hurt, but it is not pity. My actions tonight are not out of pity. I find you interesting. I wish only to be around you...To experience you."
Hiei felt his heart jump again. Why did this houshi's words have that effect of him? Not even the fox caused this. All he could say was 'Hnn'.
Miroku knew right away Hiei did not talk much, or think very highly of himself. All his skill and threats were just an attempt to inflict the fear in others he felt himself. That's what Miroku gained.
He wasn't sure, but he knew this person had a very rough upbringing and path. He knew he wasn't human because of the red eyes and aura. What exactly he was he did not know, and wasn't going to ask just yet.
"May I kiss you again?" Miroku waded closer.
Hiei did not speak, he just nodded slowly. This time the monk stood in front of him, shocking him a bit. He leaned in and pressed his lips to Hiei's. The Jaganshi froze again, letting a slight moan escape. The monks tongue begged for entrance with subtle licks to the bottom lip, and Hiei granted it.
He closed his eyes as his warm virgin mouth was explored, placing a hand on Miroku's shoulder to steady himself. The houshi broke the kiss enough to feel each others breath mingling as one. Gently returning to the icy lips. He marveled at how cold the Koorime's mouth was inside, contrary to the warm outer body. It was as if he were made of ice inside and fire outside. This just fueled the monks passion.
Painfully slow he traced his tongue ever so slightly over the jawbone and up to the somewhat pointy ear. He felt the smaller one hold his breath. Miroku purposely let his breath blow gently on the ear, causing Hiei to shiver.
"Mmm..." Miroku smiled, sending another vibration to the sensitive ear. Hiei moaned this time in spite of his efforts to hold it back.
Miroku took the earlobe into his mouth, kissing and biting softly earning a few more soft mews. He now traveled his kisses to the spot where ear met neck. Dipping slowly down to once again taste the pale flesh of the Koorime's collarbone.
"Uh..." Hiei squeaked. He was now feeling all the monks ministrations concentrating to his core. An unfamiliar heat rose through him making him want to shiver.
//Is this what loving contact from another truly feels like?//
He thought ecstatically as the monks mouth now found it next target, the already hard nipple he tweaked earlier. He sucked and flicked his tongue over it in just the right way to have Hiei panting, now feeling the Koorime's desire poke him in the leg.
The monk kissed down and down until he was at the water's edge.
"Now...I shall show you the pleasure I spoke of..." Miroku smiled one more time before going underwater.
Hiei looked around to figure out what he meant when a hot wet feeling shook his entire body.
"Monk!" Hiei screamed out as he felt the wetness increase, and the sucking speeding up. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't think all he could do was stand there panting as the monks hands held his hips firm. The water was shaking back and forth in rhythm with the feeling. He felt like he was about to pass out when it stopped and the monk appeared back up smiling, taking in a few breaths.
"What are you...uuu...oohh..."Hiei trailed off into a series of deep moans as the monk returned back under the water, the feeling coming back stronger this time. This time he knew he was gonna pass out...or something else...
He found it hard to focus on anything but the velveteen warmth that was making him come undone.
"Uh...M-monk...I..." Hiei felt his whole world explode into a thousand lights. The feeling rushing thru all of his veins causing him to scream the monks true name and shake. It was as if his soul was flying faster and faster upward. Past the trees and the sky, through the clouds. All he could hear was his own blood flowing through his body, and then...he felt himself falling, floating maybe, downward, ever so softly.
//What is this?//
He thought closing his eyes as an even more unfamiliar feeling of peace crept into each confine of his soul. Before he knew it he was laying leaned against the monks chest, still breathing heavy. Finding it hard to open his eyes.
"How do you feel now?" Miroku's voice sounded as thick as honey to the Koorime, and more sweet.
"I...I feel like I love you." Hiei sighed sleepily, eyes closed.
Now he could hear someone saying his name but couldn't care.
//I don't know who Hiei is right now, or where he went...//
All he knew was he wanted to lay like this forever. He really wasn't even sure what he had just said.
- - - - -
//You look so beautiful sleeping...This does leave me with one predicament. How am I going to get both of us out of here and dressed without anyone seeing?// Miroku looked around helplessly then smiled. He pressed the sleeping Koorime close to him taking in all his scent.
//
"I...I feel like I love you."
//
The monk replayed.
//Did he mean it?//
Miroku smiled not worrying about it at the moment, and waded back toward land, careful to not disturb his new prize.

//What is this?//
He thought closing his eyes as an even more unfamiliar feeling of peace crept into each confine of his soul.

//You look so beautiful sleeping...This does leave me with one predicament. How am I going to get both of us out of here and dressed without anyone seeing?// Miroku looked around helplessly then smiled. He pressed the sleeping Koorime close to him taking in all his scent.
//
"I...I feel like I love you."
//
The monk replayed.
//Did he mean it?//
Miroku smiled not worrying about it at the moment, and waded back toward land, careful to not disturb his new prize.
